As governors were chosen on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, President Bola Tinubu congratulated them and urged them to serve the interests of all Nigerians.
He pleaded with them to put into effect laws that put the interests of all Nigerians first and to always put country before party.
This was announced by Tinubu on Friday on his Facebook page and in a statement signed by Ajuri Ngelale, his Special Advisor on Media and Publicity.
He declared that inclusion, efficacy, and efficiency will be the hallmarks of a completely redesigned financial system for the nation.
In addition, he ordered the governors to create a structure that would improve the school-feeding program’s effectiveness and breadth throughout all of the federation’s states while taking local customs into account and aiming to enrol every kid in school.
The President stated that government programs will only be fully relevant in people’s lives when there is inclusivity, ownership, and sustainability during his reception on Friday for members of the Progressive Governors Forum at the State House in Abuja.
As per the statement, Tinubu informed the governors that a major obstacle facing the country is division; however, he insisted that the governing party should strive to mend and bring the nation together by guaranteeing a shared vision
Let’s Work Together For Nigerians’ Benefit, says Tinubu directing efforts and resources toward nation-building, to APC governors.
“You have the power to change people.” You can persuade them to support you, he added.
“President Bola Tinubu has urged governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress to create and execute policies that prioritize all Nigerians and to constantly take the national interest above political affiliations,” the statement stated.
“Nigeria is too endowed with natural, human, and material resources to be grappling with a lack of world-class healthcare facilities, world-class infrastructure, and high-quality education,” stated the president.
“We have no reason to be poor. Looking back on where we are coming from, where we have been, why we are confronting infrastructural ruin, a lack of quality and complete education, as well as a shortage of health facilities. Instead of being a condemned nation, we are blessed.
“We have school-age children who do not attend school. Incorporating the opposition governors into the school feeding program is one approach to encourage education among all governors. Please consider it carefully.
“We ought not to treat the kids like numbers. We ought to gauge our success by how often they return to the classroom. Growth in the economy ought to be measured in terms of empowerment and worth. We ought to form a committee to investigate the procedures. I’m prepared to make a school lunch investment.
“The school-feeding program would encourage more investments in agriculture, particularly in dairy and livestock farming,” the statement continued, mentioning that Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC chairman and former governor of Kano State, had already worked on a proposal that would be submitted for feedback and execution.
