President Bola Ahmed Tinubu revealed to Nigerians living abroad on Thursday (today) that he was a stellar student in his earlier years.
The G-20 Summit is currently taking place in India, according to reports about the Nigerian president.
But on Thursday night, Tinubu met with a number of Nigerian students who were studying in India and warned them that they could succeed in their chosen fields if they put in the necessary effort, were honest with themselves, were determined, and changed their perspectives.
“I am happy to stand before you as the President of Nigeria. A good education got me here. I got off slow. I worked in security. At school, I was a tutor. I did extremely well in school. Because of my education, I was trained by one of the largest accounting firms in the world when I joined Deloitte.

When I first started working with them, I enquired about any branches in Nigeria. They replied, “We have a lot of clients that will take you if you want to go home. That’s how I got to Exxon Mobil, where I worked as a very successful auditor-general, treasurer, and accountant before entering politics with a can-do attitude.
“You can accomplish it as well; don’t give up. Nigeria is willing to accommodate everyone. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, issued a statement that said it didn’t matter where in Nigeria you were from.
