According to Tinubu, I’m trying my best to fix Nigeria in baby steps.
President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians not to rush solutions to the country’s problems, saying that he is only taking “baby steps of agony” to do so.
The president further stated that it is up to Nigerians to make sure the nation reaches its goal.
During a visit to traditional leaders in the State, Tinubu made this statement at the palace of Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland.
Tinubu, who was in the state of Ogun to meet with two traditional leaders, first met with the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, at his palace in Ijebu before travelling to Abeokuta to meet with the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Michael Gbadebo.
At precisely 10.18 am, Tinubu, travelling in a presidential helicopter operated by the Nigerian Air Force (5N FG2), touched down at the Dipo Dina International Stadium in the Ijebu-Ode region of the State.
Shortly after addressing the crowd at the palace, the president met behind closed doors for approximately an hour with the Awujale.
He was accompanied by the president’s chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, the national security adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the spokesperson for the administration, Dele Alake.
Speaking at the palace of the Alake of Egbaland, Tinubu, who was welcomed by the state’s governor, Dapo Abiodun; former governors of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Segun Osoba; and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, among others, said he now understands what it takes to be the president of Nigeria.
He implored Nigerians to walk through the “small steps of pain” alongside him.
He remarked, “At least, we delivered, I credit you, thank you, despite the hardship of no money, no fuel. I’m not sure if it will go this way, but I just wanted to slip in and out to welcome Kabiyesi since I am fully aware of what it is like to be the president.”Now, what I ask for is prayers that will help the country and we are determined to help our country, to steer the ship of the nation, build a good team, be positive for this country, and deliver on all the promises that I have made,” he continued. The hope has been revived and is present. That hope will never die. Your life will be positively energised by that hope.”I have seen that in France during this discussion and we are the children of the same parents living in the same house, we are only sleeping in different rooms, just recognise that,” I said when I made the campaign promise. Let’s work together, let’s not get distracted, and together, I promise, we can make history. We will get there, and it will be a good place for this nation. We will see positive changes as we proceed; we just need to go through these baby steps of pain; as president, I’m taking baby steps, not matching in a hurry, being ready to listen, maintaining an open door policy, letting the freedom flow, letting the confidence return to Nigeria. I’ve been a refugee, I understand what it’s like to be a refugee in a foreign nation, and right now, all I still have is my green passport.
“We need your prayers, your support, and your interventions to alter the minds of our people so that the economic prosperity of this country is opening up would benefit all of us positively,”
