Timi Frank, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy national publicity secretary, stated that Nigerians should not anticipate free, fair, transparent, and credible elections in 2027 under President Bola Tinubu’s and the APC’s administration.
According to Frank’s statement released on Tuesday, the degree of purported electoral fraud, manipulation, and rigging in the states of Kogi and Imo indicates that future elections will not produce any results that can be trusted.
In addition, he said that organizations tasked with safeguarding voters and apprehending manipulators were also involved in the manipulation.
Frank emphasized that the APC now has a security section that includes the police and other security services.
Not much to write home about in the election, especially considering that it was President Tinubu’s first time overseeing the process. The type of elections Nigerians will see in 2027 is evident from what transpired in Imo and Kogi.
He declared, “Our electoral system is currently in dire straits under our highly compromised Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which has progressed from writing polling unit results before voters cast their ballots to rigging by manipulating the INEC Result View (IReV) portal and the Bi-Modal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS).”
Frank asserted that the court, which he stated had evolved into the APC’s legal division, would legitimize whatever actions taken by the INEC.
