NASA scientists have stated a noticeable and unexpected difference in time between Earth and the Moon, with Earth having a slower clock and the Moon having a slightly faster timepiece.
The scientists computed the time difference between Earth and the moon and between the two bodies and the barycenter of the solar system.
They discovered that, in comparison to Earth, time on the moon ticks 0.0000575 seconds faster per day (57.50 microseconds/day).

To put things into perspective, since humans last set foot on the Moon in 1972, the Moon has only traveled ahead of us by 1.1 seconds.
The chief communications and navigation officer of NASA, Kevin Coggins, predicts that an atomic clock on the Moon will tick more quickly than one based on Earth.
This effort is a first step toward the creation of a lunar time system that is standardized. To guarantee that all parties involved in lunar activities adhere to the same schedule, future discussions and agreements between the various bodies will be necessary.
