Timaya Speaks Out After Being Arrested For Hit And Run

Timaya, a Nigerian singer, has spoken out after being arrested hours after being accused of almost killing a young lady.

The singer was arrested on Thursday morning by security operatives of the Lagos police command after they stormed his home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, for allegedly hitting a lady in Ikate Lekki, Lagos.

Timaya is said to have fled after noticing what he did, and all attempts by the victim’s sister to contact him were futile, as he also blocked them on Instagram.

According to Osinubi Omowumi, a victim’s sister, the music star allegedly rammed his car into her sister after she confronted him about her car being damaged.

Omowumi went on to accuse the music superstar of injuring her sister severely.

She claimed that all attempts to contact the singer to do the ‘necessary’ were futile, as he went on to block her on all social media platforms.

Timaya told his side of the story on Instagram Live this afternoon, revealing that he had no idea he had hit the lady’s car and had stopped to get her number so he could pay for the damages.

However, after seeing four aggressive men running towards his car, he quickly drove away, and the lady, believing he was attempting to flee, grabbed the side mirror, causing her to fall and sustain injuries.

He insisted that he had no malice toward anyone.
