A hunter who was intoxicated is said to have shot and killed a fourteen-year-old girl; the Lagos State Police Command has detained three as-yet-unidentified suspects.
Speaking on Wednesday, a resident named James Joel stated that the incident took place on Tuesday evening.
The unidentified girl was shot and killed by the hunter while riding a bike in the Ayinla Akera neighbourhood of Orile Agege, Lagos, however the exact circumstances surrounding the tragic event were still unclear at the time of publication.
The girl was seen in a pool of blood on camera while nearby residents sobbed.
The perpetrators of the incident, according to some background voices, were local police officers from the Elere Police Station.
In the footage, a voice could be heard stating, “Policemen from Elere; they have killed somebody.”
An further source stated, “They will flee if this turns into a war.”
An additional speaker in the video said, “She was killed while on an errand.
On Wednesday, however, the Divisional Police Officer of Elere Station, Amodu Jimoh, denied the report that connected police officers to the event.
On Tuesday night, though, the DPO confirmed the occurrence by saying, “Our men were patrolling.” The officers observed a gathering of individuals gathered on the street. Seeking to understand what was going on. Someone had shot at a young girl, they were told.

On the ground, they noticed the corpse. The girl’s age was fourteen. They wanted to know who shot her. A hunter with a Dane gun was said to be carrying it. Intoxicated was he. The location is next to a woman who is selling alcoholic beverages.
Maybe just as he was taking something out of the way, the rifle went off. It was probably an unintentional discharge because he arrived with a bike.
The DPO reported that the man’s body was brought to a local hospital and that the police had located the owner of the store where the man had become drunk.
