The Lagos State Government has announced the provision of alternative routes for motorists ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, will commission Buhari’s newly-built International Terminal at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
The event will take place between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Motorists from Apapa/Oshodi will be able to use Agege Motor Road to link PWD to connect Works Road or General Adeyinka Adebayo Road to access Oba Akinjobi inward Ikeja General Hospital and connect Local Airport through the underpass, according to the state Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde.

Motorists on the Agege Motor Road were also advised to use the service lanes to connect Charity and tC then make a U-turn at the Cappa/Bolade axis inwards Shogunle to access PWD and continue their journey.
Maryland/Mobolaji Bank Anthony, according to Oladeinde, will be open to motorists as a link between the Local Airport and Murtala Muhammed Airport.
Motorists can also access the airports by crossing the Third Mainland Bridge in Gbagada, which connects Ikorodu and Maryland.
The Commissioner explained that the alternative routes were determined by the event’s expected VIP movement and traffic management.
He promised that officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority would be stationed along alternate routes to assist motorists in navigating their movements and ensure that traffic flowed freely.
