Terror War: Buratai holds Christmas Launcheon with Troops on the Frontlines

In appreciation and recognition of their selfless services to Nigeria especially on the war on terror in the North-East Theatre of Operation, can the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai had a Special Christmas Luncheon with troops of Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD) at the Nigerian Army Special Forces School, Buni -Yadi, Yobe State on Friday 25 December 2020.

The Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, represented the Special Guest of Honour the Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon Mai Mala Buni at the occasion.

The Speaker of the State’s House of Assembly, some members of the House of Assembly, Hon Commissioners and Special Advisers accompanied the Deputy Governor at the event.

Maj Gen NE Angbazo – Chief of Training and Operations of the Nigerian Army,  some Corps Commanders, Theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD), Commander Sector 2 OPLD and Commandant Nigerian Army Special Forces School Buni-Yadi were among the senior officers in attendance.

Highlights of the COAS Goodwill message to officers and soldiers of Operation Lafiya Dole on the occasion of 2020 Christmas and new year celebration.

Despite the challenges arising from COVID 19 pandemic, the Nigerian army quickly adapted to the COVID 19 restrictions and developed capacities which kept our personnel successfully engaged in counter insurgency operations in the north east and other theatres of ops across the nation with steady successes even in the face of daunting challenges.

He used the opportunity to convey the assurances of the Federal government in providing all necessary support to enable the army carry out its Constitutional roles.

He assured troops that he remains committed to ensuring that training,  capacity building and their welfare will be accorded highest priority.

He expressed the gratitude of all personnel of the Nigerian Army to President Muhammadu Buhari, members of the Federal Executive Council and the National Assembly for their support to the Nigerian Army in the successful discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.

He urged the all army personnel to continue to demonstrate unalloyed loyalty to the Commander-in -Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and to remain apolitical while ensuring the sustenance of democracy.
