Umar Ardo, the Social Democratic Party’s candidate for governor of Adamawa, and the party itself filed an appeal, but the Supreme Court denied it.
The candidate’s attorney implored the court to have the matter dismissed.
Nevertheless, the appeal was later rejected by the five-person tribunal under John Okoro.
Note that both the Abuja Court of Appeal and the tribunal had denied Ardo’s petition contesting Ahmadu Fintiri’s victory.
As for the All Progressives Congress, or APC, and its candidate, Aishatu Dahiru, Finitiri is still having to deal with their appeal.
Currently, Dahiru is running to become the state’s governor.
