At the second Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards, industry stakeholders will discuss how to create, grow, and sustain a market for content produced by electronic media.
The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria is in charge of organizing the event, which will take place in Lagos from August 22–24, 2023.
“Reviving the Broadcast Media Industry- the Role of Stakeholders (Content Producers, Broadcast Media, and Advertisers)” is the theme for this year’s conference.
It will include award recognition for many types of participants in the electronic media sector.
Alayande Stephen, the project coordinator, stated at a press conference recently to announce the event’s 2023 edition that EMCOAN has learned the value of the content market as a workable commercial instrument to expand the sector.
“What we have discovered in Nigeria is that the majority of awards are focused toward the genre of films/cinema/screen releases, while only a few have given the TV/Radio and Online spaces even a very cursory attention,” he stated. Since last year, NEMCEA has been filling this enormous void.
“The goal is to keep involving stakeholders from every link in the business’s value chain. In Nigeria, the electronic media industry is still very large and dominant, with a focus on TV, radio, and the internet. However, we need to examine various business models for the wide range of platforms that the current state of technology and the digital world has made possible.
Emeka Ossai, a member of the NEMCEA Board of Trustees, stated that the organization was founded out of the necessity to develop a market for the flood of material being produced by producers in the nation.
He expressed hope that the occasion would lead to the somewhat dormant Nigerian television sector experiencing a revival.
