Speaker: Representatives have taken action to combat insecurity

Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has stated that in response to the current wave of attacks in some areas of the nation, the House is taking action to combat national security.

This was said in a statement made by Mr. Musa Krishi, the Speaker’s special adviser on media and publicity, on Saturday in Abuja.

He claims that Amb. Ahmed Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau, received the guarantee from Abbas during a condolence visit.

According to Krishi, the incident involving the collapse of portions of the Zaria Central Mosque on August 11 during the Asr prayer resulted in several fatalities and several injuries.

The attack by bandits that left two dead in the Zaria neighbourhood of Kofar Gayan on August 12 was also a factor, he stated, explaining why the visit occurred.

The spokesperson claims that Abbas made a commitment that the House would likewise stop any new revival of the attacks.

Krishi said that the Speaker apologised for the tragic events and informed the Zazzau Emirate’s leadership and populace that the House has taken steps to prevent a repeat of them.

According to Krishi, Abbas gave the emir the assurance that the military would set up a formation around some flashpoints to stop further attacks on the communities in Zaria and its surroundings.

Additionally, he cited Abbas as adding, “I want to assure you that depending on the manner banditry wants to reemerge, we in the House have taken some actions.

“We have begun interacting with the military; they will arrive and form a circle around the female school in the Kofar Gayan axis. They told us they would carry out their promise.

“I also want to reassure you that as a native son and one of the kingmakers in this palace, I am prepared to help with the mosque’s reconstruction.

“Let me know when it’s time to start working so I can contribute my fair share to the renovation of this significant religious structure.
