The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is still in existence in Delta State, according to Emma Ogidi, the chairman of the party’s caretaker committee for South South.
According to reports, Ogidi claims that the departure of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has not diminished the party’s numbers or prospects.
“The PDP gave Delta State all its development,” Ogidi said in an interview with Vanguard.
PDP is still active in Delta State; there is no denying that our membership has declined, but the party is still active in the state.
Following the announcement that I had been assigned, I had a lot of calls from folks who said they were staying put. This zeal is still there in PDP.
Do you know why? The PDP has been successful because it has been the driving force behind the growth in Delta State throughout the years. We all come from diverse backgrounds, therefore those that joined the APC had their own motivations. People wonder what’s going on. However, there are reasons why some of us chose to stay behind.
The PDP’s achievements in Delta State are one factor. All of Delta State’s current developments are the result of PDP. Because the PDP created the majority of the hundrednaires, thousands of people, and millions you see now, some of us are still dedicated to giving back to Delta State.
“PDP ought to be appreciative of Deltans for their support.” This is my firm opinion, and I beg Deltans to see that the PDP in Delta State still has chance,” he stated.

The former commissioner, who represented Delta State on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), went on to say that the APC had nothing to offer.
Like former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, he emphasized, Governor Oborevwori and Okowa might return to the PDP.
“The PDP is in charge of Delta State. I know what former Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan said when he returned from his visit to the APC, as you may remember. He claimed that when he visited, nothing was there. You see, the reality is that now is not the time to start answering every question. This is a time to reflect.
“Those of us who are still in the PDP are evaluating our situation. We will report to Abuja, our national headquarters, as you are aware, this is a chapter,” he continued.
