Nigerian Army troops have killed one of the Biafra National Guard (BNG) fighters who attacked soldiers in Abia State.
On Thursday, protesters stormed a military post in Amaekpu, Ohafia Local Government Area.
Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, described the ambush in a statement.

According to him, the heavily armed assailants arrived at the location in a number of vehicles and fired bullets.
Troops retaliated, killing one, while others fled, abandoning their vehicles. Among the items recovered at the scene was a pump action gun.
Those who managed to flee were apprehended at Eda by soldiers from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Ohaozara in Ebonyi State.
“The troops recovered three more vehicles and apprehended one of the gunmen,” Nwachukwu continued.
