To oversee the transition from his administration to that of his successor, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has appointed a transition committee with 28 members.
The Secretary to the State Government of Sokoto State, Muhammad Mainasara Ahmad, made a statement about the development.
“It is to notify for general information that the State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has approved the appointment of the Transition Committee for the smooth handover to the Incoming Administration,” the statement reads.

The committee’s mandate is to compile and document the accomplishments reported by the current administration from 2015 to 2023 by the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). Obtain reports from MDAs on all active projects and programmes and analyse them for factors such as level of execution, financial profile, and constraints.
A detailed handover note to the incoming administration must be ready by Monday, May 15, 2023, it was further stated.
Additionally, the next administration must coordinate a fitting swearing-in ceremony with the help of the incoming administration’s team and make all other necessary preparations to ensure that they get off to a quick and successful start.

Deputy Governor Manir Muhammad Dan Iya, Secretary to the State Government Mohammad Mainasara Ahmad, Head of Service Abubakar Muhammad, 13 Commissioners, 4 Special Advisers, 5 Permanent Secretaries, and other members serve as co-chairs of the committee.
