On Wednesday, Vice President Kashim Shettima travelled to Borno, his home state, for the Sallah festival. While there, he paid the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Garbai El-Amin Sl-Kanemi, a courtesy visit at his palace.

Olusola Abiola, the Vice President’s Office’s State House Director of Information, stated in a statement that the Vice President left Abuja for Borno shortly after attending the Eid prayers at the National Eid ground in Abuja.

The statement claims that Shettima prayed for long-lasting healing for Nigeria and Nigerians while at the Eid grounds, calling for unity.

“May Allah heal us from whatever afflicts us in our individual lives and as a people, and may this day bring forth enduring unity and progress to our beloved country,” he prayed. He then spoke with journalists after the prayers.

VP Shettima prays for Nigeria’s unity and progress at the National Eid Ground, according to a statement. Shettima urged Nigerians to embody the virtues of sacrifice and forgiveness, which are central to the holiday season.

This holy day serves as a reminder of Allah’s mercy, which was made manifest by the generous blessings bestowed upon Prophet Abraham and his son, Prophet Isma’il.

“These timeless lessons remind us of the unending struggles our Creator places in front of us on the road to redemption, serving as a beacon of light to humanity across generations.

We find moral inspiration to be the best versions of ourselves by embracing these teachings, the VP said.

Among other faithful, Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, were present at the prayer area.

The Vice President then left Abuja for Borno, his home state, where he was welcomed by Governor Babagana Zulum.

Shettima arrived and inspected a Guard of Honour at the Maiduguri Air Force Base, which had been erected by a section of the Nigerian Air Force.
