Seven Taraba Monarch family members discovered dead days after their kidnapping 

Family members of a monarch in Taraba State were discovered dead days after being abducted by armed robbers.
On February 4, 2023, Justice Sani Muhammed (rtd), the chief of Taraba State’s Mutumbiyu Justices Chiefdom, confirmed the tragic development.

Usman Abdullahi, the police public relations officer for Taraba State Command, had previously confirmed the kidnapping of eight of the traditional ruler’s family members in a statement.

It was discovered that around one in the morning, heavily armed men believed to be kidnappers broke into the palace of the monarch and abducted the monarch’s two wives and six children.

According to early reports, the Sani were also kidnapped during the attack. The monarch, however, claimed in a Saturday (today) interview with newsmen that his two kidnapped wives and five children’s decomposed bodies had been discovered.

The bodies were reportedly found early on Saturday morning, and he reportedly told Daily Trust in an interview that they would be interred at Mutumbiyu.

The bodies of my family members who were killed by kidnappers have been discovered and will be delivered to Mutumbiyu, according to Sani.

A 14-year-old boy from one of the monarch’s abducted families was discovered to have escaped from his captors two days prior and been brought to the palace.
