The Nigerian Senate has announced that votes on the Constitutional Review will be conducted electronically and broadcast live on television stations.
This was stated by Senate President Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan in his closing remarks on Wednesday’s plenary.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senate’s Chief Whip, was directed by Lawan to ensure that the electronic devices in the red chamber function properly so that they do not obstruct the proceedings.
He insisted that because the Constitution Review was a strategic legislative activity, no excuses for the chamber’s equipment not working effectively would be accepted.
“Distinguished Senators, we shall cast votes on Constitution Review from Tuesday next week which will last for two days.
“The Chief of the Senate should ensure that all our electronic gadgets are properly checked and are functioning”, he said.
The Constitution Review Report which was earlier laid on the floor of the chambers by the Constitution Review Committee Chairman and Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege on Wednesday would be deliberated for two days beginning from Tuesday 1st March to Wednesday 2nd.

It was earlier reported that the Constitution Review Report was laid on Wednesday on the floor of the Senate which was witnessed by the first lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari.
