Senator Ali Ndume, who represents the Borno South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has provided some information regarding the total amount of money that was distributed among senatorial candidates for the position of president of the Senate.
The lawmaker, who is one of the members of the red chamber who has served there for the longest period of time, stated that some candidates brag about their abilities to share as much as $200,000 with fellow members in order to buy their votes.
During an interview on Arise TV, the lawmaker was questioned about the amount of money that is being distributed to senators-elect in an effort to buy their votes in advance of the 10th Senate leadership election.
I’m sure you’ve heard me say this before, but it bears repeating: the unfortunate development that’s taking place right now is that the other candidates are talking about money.

“People are discussing numbers, but nobody has approached me about the matter. Some people are referring to numbers as high as 10, 20, 30, 40, and even higher.
“There are even those who are bragging that they will give each Senator up to $200,000,” one source said. The numbers are soaring. Indeed, that is the case. “That is, in all honesty, a very unfortunate circumstance,” he stated.
