Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday announced his intention to repeal the Public Office Holder (Payment of Pension Law 2007), which provides for payment of pension and other entitlements to former Governors and their Deputies.
This will consequently end the current pension received by ex-governors, Bola Tinubu, Babatunde Fashola among others.
He made this known while presenting the 2021 budget to the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced his intention, through executive bill, to REPEAL the Public Office Holder (Payment of Pension Law 2007), which provides for payment of pension & other entitlements to former Governors and their Deputies,” Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor New Media, Gawat Jubril, wrote on Twitter.
