Only those who are documented with Nigerian embassies will be evacuated, according to Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama.
“Intending evacuees should note that only persons documented with Nigerian embassies will be eligible for evacuation,” Mr Onyeama said in a statement released by the ministry’s spokesperson, Francisca Omayuli, on Wednesday.
The affected evacuees will return home via Romania, Poland, and Hungary, according to the minister.
Those who had yet to register for the exercise, on the other hand, needed to comply, he said.
“The Federal Government of Nigeria wishes to inform that arrangements for the evacuation of the first batch of Nigerian nationals willing to return home are being finalized,” it added.
