According to Chidi Lloyd, a close acquaintance of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and the former chairman of Rivers State’s Emohua Local Government Area, Governor Siminalayi Fubara must govern within the bounds of the constitution.
A duly constituted House of Assembly must be in place before the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) may disburse cash to the Rivers State government, the Supreme Court ruled on Friday.
Along with all elected members, Martin Amaewhule was also ordered by the court to return to his legislative duties.
Wike expressed joy after the decision, calling it a win for the rule of law. He maintained that only three legislators should be authorized to form the state assembly and enact laws that apply to the entire state.

He said that what he dubbed impunity in Rivers State has ended as a result of the Supreme Court’s ruling.

Five separate appeals pertaining to the ongoing conflict in the state legislature were addressed in the ruling.

Lloyd stressed on Channels Television that Wike was not directly involved in the legal disputes, but he asked that Governor Fubara follow the constitution.

“The FCT minister is not involved in any of these matters. However, you mentioned good governance and that we ought to let Fubara rule, so no,” Lloyd said.

“Fubara must rule in accordance with the constitution’s requirements. He mentioned instances in which other branches of government will not permit the other branches to function, and one of the judges reminded him today that you cannot make laws for yourself and then disregard them.

“Therefore, the Rivers State legislature ought to take a breath.”

Additionally, Lloyd charged that the governor was trying to weaken the legislature.

“With all due respect, the governor boldly moved into the Assembly people’s residence with the intention of dismantling it, but we’re not looking right away. In any case… We are now leaning toward peace. “Those who frequently disregard court orders should be aware that this is the Supreme Court of Nigeria,” he continued.
