The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Rivers State has urged Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to become a member of the party, citing his necessity.
Tony Okocha, the chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee, stated that Wike ought to join as the party is the one in authority.
Following the 27 state lawmakers’ APC defect, he addressed reporters in Port Harcourt.
Okocha responded, “I don’t think so,” when asked if Wike’s defection was a part of his intentions to join the APC.

“”Nobody can predict with certainty whether Wike will defect to the APC or not because he is a well-known figure in the community.
He significantly contributed to the APC’s victory in the state in 2023.
“Joining the APC is the best thing we can ask him to do, since it is the ruling party.”
