NACCIMA, Customs will hold workshop on trade facilitation

In order to organise a workshop on trade facilitation, the Nigeria Customs Service announced a partnership with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture.

In a statement issued on Thursday, it was stated that the acting Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, revealed this while hosting a delegation from NACCIMA in Abuja, led by the organization’s president, Dele Oye.

Adeniyi added that the partnership would support improved trade in the nation and guarantee the success of trade facilitation.

He stated that “The Service will work with NACCIMA to organise a sensitization workshop for the two parties.”

Oye, the president of NACCIMA, had earlier congratulated the acting CGC on his appointment.

Additionally, he was praised for his outstanding efforts in raising the NCS as well as his significant approach to controlling the nation’s trade industries.

Oye reminded the acting CGC of the concerns with the certificate of origin and reaffirmed that NACCIMA is steadfast in its commitment to support the service in all its manifestations.

Oye requested that Adeniyi inform service officers about the new NCS Act, 2023.

The interim NCS boss, however, gave Oye reassurance that the service was fully committed to involving them (NACCIMA) in the region.

Adeniyi also met with representatives of the United Bank for Africa in a separate setting.

During the meeting, the delegation’s head, Kayode Fashola, congratulated Adeniyi on his new position and let him know that the bank was committed to enhancing the friendly relationship between service and UBA.

The delegation’s timely visit was appreciated by Adeniyi, who also assured them that the service was committed to strengthening their relationship.
