Prophets, pastors, and other clerics have become accustomed to making bold predictions dubbed prophecies at the end of a year or the start of a new one about events that have yet to occur.
Predictions for the year 2021 abound, as one might expect.
Following the backlash they received in 2020, many pastors were more cautious with their prophecies this year, as none of them made a direct reference to COVID-19 and its effects in their prophecies.

Nigerians are known to be devout Christians. Religion is central to the lives of most Nigerians, whether they self-identify as Christian or Muslim, according to a report by the Council on Foreign Relations.
Many citizens, particularly Christians, anticipate these prophecies, which are typically focused on politics, the economy, natural disasters, and general optimistic predictions about the future of religious adherents.
While some of the prophecies come true, others fall short, and some prophets have been chastised by Nigerians for their inability to predict impending disasters.
For many people, the year 2021 was marred by uncertainty, illnesses, deaths, and hardship; additionally, some clerics died, and others lost family members.
Okikijesu Paul
Apostle Paul Okikijesu of the Christ Apostolic Miracle Ministry claimed in a series of prophecies in January 2021 that a sitting male governor would die and be replaced by a woman after a period of crisis.

“Thus says the Lord: They will agree that the Interim Governor should be the woman who is the Deputy Governor. It’ll be like (Goodluck) Jonathan and (Umaru) Yar’Adua’s situation.”
Only four state governors have female deputies, out of the 36 states in the federation: Enugu, Kaduna, Ogun, and Rivers.
There has been no official report of any of the incumbent governors of the states dying or being replaced by their female deputies since January 2021.
Ayodele Elijah, primate
Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, predicted kidnappings and fights in Aso Rock at the start of the year and called for cleansing. Despite a series of kidnapping incidents in Nigeria throughout the year, this prophecy was not fulfilled.
“The spirit of God says that “Nigeria must be prayerful not to lose any ambassador,” he had also said.
In addition, no Nigerian ambassador has been reported dead in 2021, contrary to expectations.

A Health Minister and a Commissioner, according to the seer, will be killed by COVID 19. This prophecy never came to fruition.
The prophet stated that Nigeria will produce its own COVID-19 vaccine, stating that the Coronavirus will spread more in the second half of the year, but will begin to subside in August.
According to available records, Nigeria currently relies on vaccines imported from advanced countries.
The Nigerian government recently destroyed 1 million AstraZeneca vaccine doses that had expired. The expired vaccine doses were among the 2,594,100 doses of vaccines received on October 11th and 29th, 2021.
One million, five hundred and twenty-seven thousand, eight hundred and eighty-six vaccines (1,527,886) were said to have been used, according to government officials.
Nigeria has yet to make an official announcement about the production of COVID-19 vaccines. The Oxford-Astrazeneca vaccine, a viral vector vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca; the Moderna COVID19 vaccine, developed by Moderna, the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA); and the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, developed by Janssen Pharmaceuticals, headquartered in Beerse, Belgium.

Galsie, Nigel
Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, will become president in 2021, according to Prophet Nigel Gaisie, the founder of the Prophetic Hill Chapel in Ghana.
He had stated, “Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will become President.”
This prophecy came up short.
Ebonyi Theophilus
In addition, Apostle Theophilus Ebonyi, Senior Pastor of Faith on the Rock Ministry International, predicted that the country would see a government shift without an election, with the number two taking over the top spot without elections or a coup.
“2021 is the year of the Lord,” he said, “when God himself will humble some demonic powers, forces, and satanic agendas that have bedeviled the Nation.”
“God revealed to me in the place of prayer his blessings and intervention in the affairs of Nigeria that the government will witness a shift that will allow the number two citizen to become the number one,” the cleric predicted.

Eze Okwudili
In his 2021 prophecies, Bishop Okwudili Eze, the mandated prophet of Zion Heritage And Miracle Ministries, said that some church leaders will be arrowheads of target for arrest in 2021.
Taking a cue from the #EndSARS protests that rocked the country in 2020, the prophet predicted that mass protests will wreak havoc on the economy and cause confusion in 2021.
While there were mass protests over Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest and detention, Sunday Igboho, and the recent #NorthIsBleeding protest, none of these can be said to have had a negative impact on the economy because the protesters were simply expressing their displeasure.
Eze also stated that Nigerian politicians will face stricter visa policies, which will affect the innocent among them. There is currently no such policy in place.
He also predicted that a move to change the capital of a Nigerian state would be attempted, but that such a move would be met with fierce opposition. This was never attempted.
“There will be some good news in the power sector,” he added. Tariffs for electricity will be reviewed, but not without widespread opposition and insistence. As a result, the new #EndSARS will be in charge.”
Meanwhile, the People’s Alternative Political Movement (TPAP-M), a coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to the emergence and building of a Mass Workers Party, and the Socialist Transformation of Nigeria recently announced plans to protest the recent increase in the price of gas as well as the impending increases in fuel and electricity tariffs.

“God wants to reveal the perpetrators of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some people will spread information about the vaccine to others.
“This year, everyone will know the secret behind COVID-19; coronavirus is a useless thing, and people will be exposed.”
“There will be confusion about COVID-19, and it will be in the children of God’s favor.”
No one has been identified as the source of COVID-19’s secret as of yet.
Eleojo Wada on Sunday

However, according to macro trends, the death rate in 2021 will be 11.268, compared to 11.483 in 2020 and 11.698 in 2019.
The prophet also predicted that the National Assembly would be shattered, with some senators resigning and others embarking on a journey without return. In the year 2021, no member of the Senate or House of Representatives resigned.
Wada also predicted that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would have health problems in 2021. Instead, Osinbajo was named as the chairman of a committee tasked with developing and implementing a health-care reform plan.
“The naira will rise again and wax stronger in 2021 and 2022,” he added. The naira is currently worth 0.00243343 of a US dollar at the time of filing this report. This is the lowest point of the year.
