The All Progressives Congress, or APC, has made the motivation behind the Jagaban Army public ahead of the February 25 presidential election.
Dayo Israel, the APC National Youth Leader, stated during an interview with Arise Television on Thursday that Tinubu had accomplished enough for Nigeria to elect him as president.

He clarified that the APC’s national youth wing supporters are referred to as the “Jagaban Army.”
He rejected the idea that the term “Jagaban Army” implies violence.
“We adopted the word ‘Jagaban Army’ because we are an army of young people, in other words, a battalion of young people. Of course, the battalion is synonymous with the nickname of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, BAT. We adopted the phrase ARMY because, in the election, canvassers are called foot soldiers, so if you are foot soldiers, you are an army.

“Jagaban Army is not like a military organization or anything of such but a combination of foot-soldiers of the APC supporters for Asiwaju,” he said.
