On Wednesday, the Rivers State PDP chapter rejected the state governor Nyesom Wike’s approval to hold a presidential campaign rally at the Adokiye Amesiamaka Stadium in Igwurita-Ali, Port Harcourt.
Recall that Wike had denied giving the venue his approval after the party’s primary election results last year, which led to their breakup.
The governor did, however, announce the facility’s reapproval on Tuesday while speaking at the PDP governorship campaign rally at Ogu in the state’s Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area.

Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa, the PDP Presidential Campaign Council’s spokesperson in Rivers State, responded to the most recent approval by claiming that the Atiku campaign was no longer interested in the facility.
The spokesperson stated that the Council could not judge Governor Wike by his words during a radio program on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.
“We learned that he (Wike) announced yesterday that the stadium has been restored and that he has rescinded his decision,” he said.
However, I must make it abundantly clear that the Atiku Presidential Campaign Council is no longer intrigued by Governor Wike’s Greek gift.
