Festus Keyamo, the chief spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council, has chastised Peter Obi, the candidate for president of the Labour Party, for acting as the victim even though he knows Asiwaju Bola Tinubu won.

At a global press conference held in Abuja on Thursday, Obi claimed that he had been robbed of his mandate, prompting Keyamo’s warning.

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party lost to Tinubu by 6,984,520 and 6,101,533 votes, respectively, after polling 8,794,726 votes.

However, an emotional Obi told reporters that the process did not adhere to the standards of a fair and credible election.

The former governor of Anambra State has vowed to use all legal and peaceful means at his disposal to retake control of the state.

Keyamo, in contrast, refuted Obi’s claim, claiming that he is trying to use irregularities outside of his supporter base as evidence of election rigging when there is a ton of evidence circulating on social media showing that his supporters engaged in thuggery, violence, and outright falsification of data.
“Despite being the biggest offender in this game of brickbats, he pretends to be the victim. Mr. Peter Obi is quick to point out isolated instances of irregularities outside his strongholds that are unlikely to have had a significant impact on the results there, but he purposefully avoids commenting on the mountains of evidence that are circulating everywhere showing that his supporters engaged in thuggery, hooliganism, violence, and outright falsification of numbers against our party and our supporters.

“Obi knows he could not have won after engaging in the most divisive religious politics in our history, and the pattern of the votes clearly demonstrates that; Obi knows he could not have won after splitting off as a part of the main opposition, the PDP, and all he could have hoped for was to garner some of the PDP votes in a particular region of the country; and Mr. Obi knows he could not have won when he ran as a tribal candidate and was only

“Obi knows he couldn’t have won after joining the Labour Party a few months ago, purchasing the party’s ticket without valid Primaries, and polarizing his party. Mr. Peter Obi knows he didn’t win because he didn’t even meet the constitutional minimum, which calls for a spread of 25% in two-thirds of the States of the Federation. He was nowhere near it. He could not have come close with his rhetoric of division.

Furthermore, it is absurd that Mr. Peter Obi and his newly discovered ally, the PDP, are both claiming victory. I tweeted this morning, thus: ‘This is the first time in my entire life that I am seeing people who came 2nd and 3rd in an exam both claiming they took first and then agreeing to protest together to the examiner to record that both of them took first, yet they are not seeing the contradiction in their actions. We still stand by that assertion,” he said.

He claims that the president-elect has reached out to his defeated rivals, including Obi, and invited them to work with him in building the country rather than engaging in ostentatious grandstanding.
