The free medical outreach programme that Joseph and Sinach Foundation and Emzol Pharmaceutical Services organised at the College of Health Science Management Technology, Aba, has received praise from Abia State Governor Alex Otti.

Otti thanked the sponsors for assuming the charitable responsibility of offering the public free medical care, remarking that “this is what life is all about. Being a blessing to other people is essentially required when God blesses you.

“I am pleased to see so many people attending this event, but I am more pleased with the cause, which is helping those who would not otherwise have access to medical care.”

The Joseph and Sinach Foundation was praised by the governor for remembering to return home and make a difference in the lives of regular people.

“Our government is a government that has placed emphasis on health care delivery, and for that reason, in the last few weeks, we have undertook to reform the health care delivery system in our state, starting from the primary to secondary and all the way to the tertiary health care delivery system,” he said.

He noted the Abia State University Teaching Hospital’s poor performance and promised that the government would make it up to par and fulfil its duty as a tertiary healthcare delivery facility.

The governor expressed happiness that the private sector was joining the government and pledged to upgrade all general hospitals in the state.

Pastor Joseph Egbu, the convener, confirmed that Emzor Pharmaceuticals, which provided over 80% of the drugs and N1.58 million to pay the doctors and support staff, supported the medical outreach.

“My wife is an evangelist as well as a minister. God commanded us to do this. This is how Christianity should be practised. This is our own small way of giving back to society, he said.

Mrs. Joyce Chidi Nwogu, the coordinator of the Joseph and Sinach Foundation in Aba, referred to the occasion as a magnificent work of God.

“It is something God has already foretold,” she said. Pastor Joseph is a generous person. He started dreaming about getting his people free medical care when he returned home last year, and now his dream has come true. By God’s grace, we will attend to all of the more than 700 participants who have registered.
