The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Mr. Julius Abure, urged party members to be on guard after claiming to have received information that the APC was getting ready for a potential rerun of the 2023 presidential election.

The Labour Party Diaspora Chairman in the United States, Professor Eddie Oparaoji, and the Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice and Democracy met online to discuss this, according to Abure.

He explained that the ruling party was aware that the legal challenge to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration of the presidential election results was still pending and heavily stacked against it.

According to a statement from the party’s acting national publicity secretary, Obiora Ifoh, Abure urged the party’s more than 10 million members to be “on the alert and get ready to further humiliate APC and its government in the polls if their sinister plot fails to materialize.”

According to rumors, the government is already preparing for a reelection, and he said, “This is one of the support we will be soliciting from you.

“We should also be preparing because we should not be caught off guard, especially since everyone in government is already preparing for a rerun.

“So, if par adventure it happens today that the election is declared invalid, which is not what we are asking for because we are asking for an outright declaration of Peter Obi as the President of Nigeria, we will need your engagement and support on this aspect.

We are expecting Peter Obi to be sworn in as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria because we are so confident that we won the election based on the statistics and outcome we have. However, assuming that didn’t happen and that the government is indeed planning a second round of voting, it would also not be out of place for us to be getting ready for a second round of voting.

“Having said that, I must state unequivocally that we have presented the court with all of our evidence and that we sincerely hope the tribunal will rule in our favor.

“We have high hopes that the Supreme Court will rule in our favor if this case makes it to the higher court, the Supreme Court. We continue to maintain our optimism and self-assurance.

We were able to alter the political narratives in this nation in just nine months, and now we must build on our achievements to create a stronger party that we can strategically position for Nigeria’s oppressed populace.

The Director of the ObiDatti Presidential Campaign, Ambassador Oseloka Obaze, urged Obi-Datti members in the diaspora to see the fight for regaining the party’s mandate as a collective responsibility in his contribution to the discussion.
