Lamidi Apapa, the leader of a faction within the Labour Party (LP), has once more presented himself before the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.
It was reported that recent photographs capture him seated comfortably and attentively listening to the proceedings that are taking place within the courtroom.
Instead of sitting in the area of the courtroom that was specifically designated for Labour Party representatives, Apapa opted to take a seat in the very back of the room.
Additionally, the presidential candidate for the party, Peter Obi, arrived at the courthouse accompanied by a large group of supporters.

During an appearance on the Sunrise Daily program on Channels Television, Apapa had stated, in reference to his earlier statement, that he intended to show up to the Tribunal on Friday, May 19 (today), which is the date in question.
After being turned down on Wednesday, he responded with self-assurance when asked about his future plans and stated, “I intend to go.” Perhaps at the upcoming hearing, my name will finally be called.”
Apapa further asserted that the purpose of his presence at the Tribunal on Wednesday was to assert his authority as the acting National Chairman of the party. He said this while referring to his previous statement.
Recall that an order from the court prevented Julius Abure, the currently serving National Chairman, and other party executives from assuming leadership roles, which led to an escalation of the dispute over who should be in charge. Despite the fact that Apapa asserts that he is entitled to serve in the capacity of chairman, a sizeable proportion of party members do not acknowledge his authority.
On Wednesday, the struggle for leadership took an even more dramatic turn when Apapa was booed and then expelled from the Tribunal. This marked a significant turning point in the conflict.
