The kidnapping of Nasarawa South Zone PDP Chairman by police operatives in Lafia has been thwarted.
The disclosure was made by the command’s spokesman, ASP Ramhan Nansel, who stated that on Saturday November 20, 2021, around 8.10pm, a distress call was received stating that six unidentified gunmen invaded the residence of one Umar Nasiru Black located in the Bukan kwato area of Lafia and attempted to kidnap him.
“Upon receiving the information, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi, immediately mobilised Police patrol teams stationed in the area to the scene; the kidnapping was thwarted due to the prompt intervention of the Police and members of the community.”
“In an attempt to flee, the hoodlums hit the said Umar Nasiru Black on the forehead with a stick and shot one of his neighbors in the right leg before narrowly escaping into the nearby bushes.”

“As a result, the victims were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, where they are now in stable condition.” Efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing suspects. The investigation is still ongoing.”
