The Nigerian Police Force’s Adamawa State Command has busted a 14-member kidnapping ring.
The suspects were found with 18 handsets and 23 SIM cards, according to the command.
The suspects were all arrested after credible information from a reliable source, according to a statement released by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, on Tuesday night.
The police stated, “The operatives of Adamawa State Police Command attached to SIB have made another breakthrough by apprehending a syndicate of 14 notorious kidnappers terrorizing innocent citizens.”
The suspects were identified as Sanda Buba, 33, a resident of Bausman village in Chigari in Fufore LGA, Aliyu Abubakar, 34, a resident of Yolde Pate in Yola South LGA, and Ashiru Sarkin Yamma, a 25-year-old youth with no fixed address, according to the police.
Tukur Hammadu, 35, of Yolde Pate, Yola South LGA, Abdul Isa, 35, of Samunaka, Yola South LGA, Idris Musa, 27, of Malabu, Fufore LGA, Samaila Garba, 25, of Bunga, Malabu district, Fufore LGA, and Mumini Idirisu, 25, of Bunga, Malabu district, Fufore LGA, are among the others.

According to the police, investigations led to the recovery of the phone and SIM card, and the suspects confessed to kidnapping Alhaji Sale Idi of Farang in Fufore LGA, Ya’u Adamu of Ganye town, and Jones Hayatu of Kojoli Village, Jada Local Government Areas, and collecting large sums of money as ransom.
