The recent murders in the Plateau State local government areas of Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi have drawn harsh criticism from the federal government.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, spoke on behalf of the Federal Government and reaffirmed the Tinubu Administration’s commitment to safeguarding every square inch of Nigerian land.

It also promised a firm and decisive response to any criminal activity committed by terrorists, bandits, or militants.

In a statement, it was stated that Tinubu has given the security services instructions to make sure the people responsible for these horrible murders are found and prosecuted.

It stated that in order to provide the afflicted people with prompt humanitarian help, the President has also ordered the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, together with other pertinent agencies, to collaborate with the Plateau State Government.

The Federal Government appreciates the profound suffering experienced by all those affected by these attacks and promises to increase cooperation and support with state governments in the joint endeavor to secure long-term peace and security in Nigeria, according to the statement.

In order to increase intelligence collecting and crisis response capabilities, all federal security and intelligence organizations are working together.
