Demola Olarenwaju, senior political assistant to former vice president Atiku Abubakar, called former presidential candidate Peter Obi’s move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) “historical.”
According to reports, on Tuesday in Enugu State, Obi declared his intention to leave the Labour Party and join the ADC.
Speaking about the development on his 𝕏 account, Olarenwaju asked Atiku and Obi’s supporters to cooperate and guarantee a unified ticket.
He also out that under President Bola Tinubu, Nigerians’ future is uncertain.
“Seeing the sun at noon is not a sign of great eyesight, but rather the ability to see the sun at midnight proves our imagined reality as enlightened,” he wrote. “Peter Obi’s move to ADC is a historical pivot, repeatedly predicted by some of us.”
Therefore, the demand is for Obidients and Atikulates to sheath swords and make this happen, even as we welcome Obi to an alliance he has been a part of from the start.
“After all, it is our future, and under Tinubu, it is not safe at all.”
Obi, meantime, has voiced his disapproval of politicians’ open celebration of electoral theft.
According to reports, on Wednesday in Enugu State, Peter Obi made a public announcement about his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alliance.
Former Anambra State governor Peter Obi pledged to oppose any attempt to rig the 2027 election in a legitimate and legal manner.
In order to prevent pre-election controversies, he also advocated for early vetting of candidates’ academic backgrounds.
“We have all witnessed those who benefited from our democracy now becoming accessories of our democracy through coercion or gangsterism to the opposition,” he declared.
“We will fight against this; we cannot allow it to occur. People are now openly commemorating electoral fraud.
“And we are stating that we will use all legal and legitimate means to oppose those who intend to rig elections in Nigeria in 2027.”
