Amidst the ongoing controversy involving Professor Wole Soyinka and the Obidients, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has paid a visit to the Nobel Laureate.
Playwright Wole Soyinka had been dragged by Obidents, which is a dubbed description for the supporters of Peter Obi, in response to his comment that condemned the Vice Presidential candidate of the LP, Datti Baba-Ahmed.
On the other hand, Obi praised Soyinka for his accomplishments on the international stage as well as his efforts to make Nigeria a better place via his Twitter handle on Sunday.
He stated that Soyinka’s struggle for justice would never be overlooked again.
He explained that the purpose of the visit was to dispel the baseless rumours that circulated about Soyinka and the Obidients movement.

“I cherished this Sunday’s visit, which was intended to erase the needless misconceptions about the relationship between the great icon and the Obidient family,” he wrote in the post he shared online. “It was a privilege to be in their presence.”
Obi, who finished in third place in the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, just behind the President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is currently contesting the results of the vote at the Tribunal, which is scheduled to begin its work on Monday, May 8th, 2023.
