In order to establish a College of Nursing Sciences at the Faith Foundation Mission Hospital in Enugu State, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, gave N20 million.
On Monday, November 13, the former governor of Anambra State disclosed this in a post on his X account.
He claims that the measure is consistent with his pledge to fund vital sectors of the country’s growth, including as poverty eradication, health, and education.
“I visited Nsukka in Enugu State over the weekend, where I donated N20 million to the Faith Foundation Mission Hospital, Nsukka,” the caption for the photo stated. This is consistent with my ongoing pledge to fund the three most important sectors of national development—health, education, and the eradication of poverty.
“Through the Anglican Bishop of Nsukka, Rt Rev. Aloysius Agbo, I am providing the hospital with my first support through this donation to enable them to start construction on a College of Nursing Sciences.”
“Primary healthcare delivery, the cornerstone of any reputable healthcare system, revolves around healthcare professionals.
As a result, we need to give healthcare worker training more serious consideration, particularly in light of the fact that both our beloved country and the rest of the world are experiencing a shortage of these specialists.
“I applaud the Bishop for taking the risk to establish a College of Nursing Sciences, as well as his whole staff at Faith Foundation Hospital.
“I will continue to support projects that will bring development to our nation and be beneficial to Nigerians, for in so doing, we will be able to build the New Nigeria of our dreams.”
