Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has pleaded with Nigerians to hold him responsible if he fails to lead a new Nigeria into existence.
At his campaign rally on Friday in Abakaliki, Obi issued the challenge.
He promised to turn Nigeria back toward production from consumption.
When the most qualified politicians with character, trust, and competence were elected, the LP candidate promised, the nation would be restored.
He insisted that character, not race or ethnicity, should be the deciding factor in the general elections in 2023.
“We’ll give you a new Nigeria, protect it, and bring the nation together.
“Don’t let someone use religion to trick you or tell you it’s their turn. Vote only for those who are aware of government.
I am running for office as a Nigerian who is the most qualified and equipped to bring about the country’s revival, not as an Igbo man or a person from the south-east,” stated Obi.
He praised the Ebonyi people for their camaraderie with and support of the Labour Party.
In order to create a better country, he advised the public to support Mr. Edward Nkwegu, the LP’s candidate for governor in Ebonyi.
In his remarks, Mr. Julius Abure, National Chairman of the Labour Party, expressed his gratitude to the people of Ebonyi for their solidarity, support, and dedication to the party.
In order to combat poverty and insecurity in the nation, Abure claimed that the LP would provide the most knowledgeable and trustworthy politicians.
