BREAKING: OYSIEC Declares PDP Candidate Winner Of Itesiwaju LG

The statement became necessary following the existence of some of the Returning Officers/ Collation Officers together with the consequence of the elections in the OYSIEC Headquarters Agodi Ibadan.

The returning officer for Itesiwaju Local Government, Dr. Abiodun Eyitayo Adeoye who is an acting Head of Department of Physical Sciences in the First Technical University Ibadan, announced Hon. Akintola Bolaji of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the elections.

The OYSIEC Chairman, Aare Isiaka said the postponement became necessary following the late arrival of the sensitive materials for the affected local government into the OYSIEC Headquarters Agodi Ibadan.

He said the elections that were originally re-scheduled to hold now Sunday, May 23 in Ido Local Government following omission of title and emblem of this Zenith Labour Party on the ballot paper could no more hold and was postponed to May 29 only to guarantee free, fair, and credible of elections at the affected local authorities.

Dr Adeoye through the study of the results of the elections that he read at the ground of the conference room of the OYSIEC said the PDP Candidate polled total numbers of 15, 875 votes, ahead of the second running up, All Progressive Congress (APC) with 173 votes, and the third running upper African Democratic Congress (ADC) with 100 voters.

Dr Adeoye however said that the elections in his area that’s Oyo North Senatorial District, Oke Ogun part of the State were peaceful, fair and free.

He said there were not any development of any crisis or violence.

The situation in the OYSIEC is currently calm as some of the returning Officers/ Collation Officers are awaiting approval for the continuation of the announcement process from the OYSIEC Chairman Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju who just stepped out soon after the formal declaration of this Itesiwaju local government elections had been made.

In a similar development, the OYSIEC Boss, earlier in his address before the initiation of the announcement of results process announced the postponement of both re-scheduled elections at the Ido Local Government section of the State.
