Labour Party’s Vision: Aguocha Advocates Coalition to Overthrow APC in 2027

Obi Aguocha, a member of the House of Representatives, has reiterated his support for the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and Abia State Governor Alex Otti.
In a New Telegraph interview, Aguocha stated that he has complete faith in the Labour Party and has no plans to leave it.
Nonetheless, he pointed out that Peter Obi is free to discuss with whomever his intention to join the Labour Party in overthrowing the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in 2027.

“Peter Obi has the right to speak to as many people as he likes in order to persuade them to join the Labour Party, to overthrow the current government, and to start over in Nigeria,” Aguocha stated.

The congressman asserted that to defeat the incumbent party in the upcoming general election, a coalition must be established, despite the fact that APC members are dissatisfied.

“I have connections and ideological alignment with Peter Obi, Alex Otti, and the Labour Party platform,” he stated. We have evolved into a political platform.

We are interested in overthrowing the APC in order to give the Nigerian people hope again, guarantee sufficient security, and enable them to resume their daily lives in

Five members leaving the Labour Party does not make it any less or more significant than the fact that Nigerians will no longer look to it for hope.

“Nobody is content. Not even members of the APC are pleased with the state of affairs in Nigeria at the moment.

Since the APC was a coalition that supported an ideology that wrested power from the PDP, why not establish one to ensure that we have proper measures in place?

Therefore, I don’t think it’s exceptional if the Labour Party joins forces with other Nigerians who share their values and are resolute in their will to act morally for once in Nigeria.

Dismissed Kano SSG Vows to Reveal Secrets About Government,, Political Figures

Abdullahi Bichi, the recently fired Secretary to the Kano State Government, has accused political leaders of treachery and dishonesty and threatened to release what he called “explosive evidence” against them.

The statement was made by Bichi, who was ousted from power in December 2024, after he returned from Saudi Arabia.

In a widely shared video on Thursday, he spoke to his followers and charged them with treachery and dishonesty.

“Let me be clear: now is not the ideal moment to discuss, but I’m glad I left the office without incident. We will expose them when the time is perfect.

21-Year Power Outage: Ogun Community Bemoans Ignorance and Lack of Progress
Bichi stated, “I have voice notes, videos, and documents that will show everyone who they really are.”

Due to his suspension from the New Nigeria People’s Party on October 14, 2024, the former SSG’s tense relationship with Governor Abba Yusuf and his mentor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, became public knowledge.

Bichi said his proof would show the inner workings of their connection, calling the leaders “masters of betrayal.”

They only know how to be treacherous. They are untrustworthy,” he continued.

Political analysts and Kano locals are speculating wildly about this development.

Many are anticipating how Bichi’s threats would alter Kano’s political climate if he follows through on them.

Bichi was charged with planning an attempt to cut Yusuf’s connections to Kwankwaso’s political power.

He was then expelled from the party alongside Muhammad Diggol, who was the Transportation Commissioner at the time.

“We have no choice but to take this strong action after receiving official complaint letters from their wards and after the local leadership has confirmed the claims.

“The allegations were further confirmed by the Kano North NNPP leadership, led by Sulaiman Dambatta, which ultimately resulted in the decision to suspend both officials.”

Suspected Boko Haram militants stormed the Nganzai Police Division in Borno State, killing two officers of the Borno State Police Command.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by ASP Nahum Daso, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the event happened on Wednesday at approximately 12:10 a.m.
“Unknown gunmen suspected of being Boko Haram terrorists attempted to invade Nganzai Police Division at approximately 12:10 am,” the statement said. Following several gunfights, the heroic officers on duty repulsed the attackers.
Daso claimed that two officers were hurt when the terrorists launched hand grenades during the assault.

“Unfortunately, two officers were fatally wounded when the terrorists’ hand grenades fell on a shelter tent behind the division,” Daso stated.
He further mentioned that Yusufu Lawal, the Commissioner of Police for the Borno State Police Command, paid a visit to the station.
Lawal expressed his sympathy to the families of the fallen cops and praised the officers for their courage.

Wike criticized for celebrating son’s graduation from foreign university

0

Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory’s minister, has drawn criticism for rejoicing over his son’s recent graduation from an international university.

When Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, posted the celebration on his X handle, many, especially Rivers natives, took exception.

Critics pointed out that Wike stopped sponsoring Rivers State students studying overseas through the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency, or RSSDA, in 2015, not long after taking office as governor.

The scholarship programme, initiated by Wike’s predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, became dormant during Wike’s tenure, leaving students and their families in distress.

Wike was accused by irate locals of denying Rivers youths access to international education while paying for his own son’s study abroad.

Also making a comeback online was an old video of Wike speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

In the clip, Wike argued that certain courses, including law, should be studied in Nigeria rather than abroad—coincidentally the same course his son studied overseas.

A Port Harcourt-based youth activist, Charles Jaja, described the situation as hypocritical, questioning why Wike prioritised his son’s education abroad while cancelling similar opportunities for others during his administration.

According to him, “Years back, former Governor Wike pulled out all Rivers children sent abroad to study at various foreign universities by Rotimi Amaechi’s administration, claiming that Amaechi only wasted Rivers money in sending those children abroad to study courses that could have been offered here in Nigeria.

“Today, he’s on his handle celebrating the graduation of his own son in the UK, where he studied law. Isn’t this hypocritical in every way?

“He acts one way while saying another. Why didn’t he allow his own son to study law here in RSU (Rivers State University) or in any other university in Nigeria?

“It is a complete injustice on his own part to have deprived these children of benefiting from what the state had to offer them, by returning them to Nigeria and not allowing them to complete the course of their dreams where they were sent to study.

“I certainly believe that the cry of these children has risen to God as a memorial and that God will certainly avenge their cries for them. If not now, certainly later.”
