APC Removes State Secretary Avajah Amid Constitution Violation Claims

0

Chidi Avadja, the state secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahiaukwu Ward 2, Umuahia South Local Government Area, Abia State, has been suspended by the party for alleged constitutional infractions.
Acting Ward Chairman Nwabueze Ndumele and Secretary Ifeanyichukwu John acknowledged in a statement issued on Monday that the decision to suspend Avadja was made at a ward meeting that was conducted last Saturday at the Okaiuga Civic Hall in Okwu Olokoro.
Additionally, the announcement disclosed that Onyekwere Sylvester, another member, had been suspended for alleged impersonation and that a seven-member disciplinary committee had been established to look into the allegations against both people.
In defiance of the Congress-elected party officials, the party leadership charged that Avadja appointed an interim ward chairman on his own after the previous chairman passed away. The move was perceived as a power grab within the local APC organization and a breach of the party’s constitution.

According to the statement, “The party also decided to suspend Chief Chidi Avajah, the state secretary, for violating Article 21, Section A, subsections ii, vi, and vii of our great party’s constitution.”

Additionally, there is no proof that Chief Chidi Avajah has made any monthly payments to the party. Section 9.2, Subsection ii of Article 9 is violated by this.

In addition, the party suspended Onyekwere Chibuike Sylvester for allegedly impersonating the chairman of Ahiaukwu Ward II, which is against Article 21, Section A, Subsection IV.

“As a result, the party decided to form a seven-member disciplinary committee to look into the accusations made against Chief Chidi Avajah and Sylvester Onyekwere.

Additionally, they decided to put in more effort to fortify the party in the ward in order to field all candidates on the party’s platform in the general election of 2027.

“The party will uphold discipline and follow our esteemed party constitution to the letter.”

Political leaders in Kano State have been asked by Vice President Kashim Shettima to maintain unity and prevent political disagreements from dividing them.

During a nighttime visit to the Emir’s palace to offer condolences for the passing of Galadiman Kano, late Abbas Sunusi, he made the appeal on Saturday.

In the presence of prominent political heavyweights from the Kwankwasiyya and Gandujiyya factions, as well as Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Kano APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas, Shettima stressed the value of unity in the politically significant state.
Shettima stated that it is a mistake for political disputes to split or disturb a state like Kano, which is respected at all political levels.

“We do not rejoice when we see political rifts or finger-pointing among its people because Kano is a model for the entire Nigeria,” he continued.

“Kano is the heartbeat of the North; whatever affects Kano affects the North,” he wrote, highlighting Kano’s pivotal role in Northern Nigeria.

“I am delivering this message in Hausa because of this, and even though I am not a native Hausa speaker, I have done my best to ensure that you understand me,” Shettima stated.

He prayed for the late Galadiman Kano as well, hoping that God would grant him eternal life.

As some people were killed and others were abducted in recent bandit assaults in Shanono Local Government Area, the vice president sent his condolences to the families impacted.

“We are pleading with God to keep Nigeria and the country peaceful,” Shettima continued.

Kayode Fayemi, a former governor of Ekiti State, appeared at the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus meeting on Friday.
The presence of Fayemi has dispelled speculation that the former Solid Minerals Minister would be joining the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
“The meeting was an opportunity to reflect on the party’s progress,” the former governor wrote in a post on his X Twitter.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) State Caucus meeting in Ekiti State was hosted in HE Otunba Niyi Adebayo’s home in Iyin Ekiti, and I was present. The chance to interact with our party leaders and important stakeholders, consider the strides we have achieved, and share ideas on how to improve our effect and unity was excellent,” he said.
Fayemi praised the efforts made in the state by Governor Biodun Oyebanji. He applauded the state’s party members’ solidarity.

With the state’s members’ unity and discipline, he said, he was confident the APC will accomplish more.

“For his outstanding performance and dedication to our state’s development, I commend Governor Biodun Oyebanji. In order to continue his outstanding work for our party and the people of Ekiti, he has earned our complete support.

“Watching the party members’ discipline, cohesiveness, and feeling of purpose was incredibly inspiring. As we work to further develop our shared vision for Ekiti State, I’m still hopeful about what we can do together,” he said.

The former governor of Ekiti State reportedly denied rumors that he intended to leave the ruling party on March 10.

But he also said the party has to improve its internal democracy.

An article on my departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC) has caught my attention and is making the rounds on several internet sites.

As previously stated, I am a card-carrying foundation member of the APC, and my status has not altered.

He said, “Even though I have led the charge to demand more internal democracy and inclusion within the ruling party, I think there is still time for our party to turn around and move in that direction.”

Cost of Living Crisis? Others Are Cashing In – Onanuga Fires Back at Critics

Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, has encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of the chances the President’s policies have generated to better their lives.
Onanuga made this statement on Saturday in response to a video of a Nigerian who claimed to have made ₦200 million amid cries of hardship, according to reports.
The businessman described how he took advantage of an agreement Tinubu inked on his first business trip to Saudi Arabia, which involves selling meat and agricultural items from Nigeria to the Middle Eastern nation, in the video that the president’s spokesperson shared on his Twitter account.
He claims that he exports meat and other agricultural products to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and currently employs 500 people. He urged Nigerians to take advantage of the chances the President has created by traveling abroad in order to better their quality of life.

In response to the video, Onanuga said that instead of complaining about the high price of food and other hardships, Nigerians should take advantage of the chances the President has established to earn money.

While some Nigerians continue to gripe about the high cost of living, astute Nigerians are taking advantage of the financial opportunities brought about by the Tinubu administration. Here is a Nigerian’s testimonial, along with details on how you might gain from it,” he stated.

FG Calls on Labour Unions to Support Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

0

The federal government has appealed to organised labour unions to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in achieving the goals outlined in his Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at transforming the nation’s socio-economic landscape.

Delivering a goodwill message at the commissioning ceremony of the new national secretariat of the Construction and Civil Engineering Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (CCESSAN) in Kuje, Abuja, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and labour in driving national development.

The event also featured the official launch of two books on workplace safety—Occupational Safety and Health Simplified and Occupational Safety and Health Handbook—authored by civil engineer Iyenoma T. Osazee.

Labour as a Key Partner in Nation-Building

Minister Dingyadi highlighted the critical role of organised labour in fostering a stable and productive work environment, describing it as a “cornerstone for nation-building and progress.”

“Organised labour remains a vital stakeholder in our shared mission to ensure decent work, fair conditions, and sustainable development. I urge you to partner with the Tinubu-led administration to realise the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.

He assured the union of the Federal Government’s continued commitment to improving labour conditions and supporting equitable practices across all sectors.

CCESSAN Secretariat: A Symbol of Progress

Commending the association’s leadership and dedication, Dingyadi described the newly commissioned building as a symbol of unity, professionalism, and strength among construction industry workers.

“The infrastructure we celebrate today reflects your contribution to national development. It is not just a physical structure but a beacon of excellence for civil engineering professionals across the country,” he stated.

He called on stakeholders across government, private sector, and labour to champion policies that promote a thriving construction industry, urging collective focus on sustainable practices, workforce training, and high standards of safety and ethics.

A Vision Realized: CCESSAN Leadership Speaks

In his welcome remarks, Comrade Temidayo Ayodeji, President of CCESSAN, celebrated the occasion as a significant milestone in the association’s history.

“This building represents more than bricks and mortar—it embodies our commitment to professional growth, unity, and national development,” he said.

Ayodeji noted that the successful completion of the secretariat and the publication of the safety books reflect the resilience and collective effort of the union’s past and present leadership, its members, and supportive employers.

He also underscored the importance of the new publications as valuable resources for industry professionals, researchers, and students, contributing to knowledge and capacity-building in the construction and civil engineering fields.

Moving Forward Together

In a statement issued by Patience Onuobia, Head of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry of Labour, the Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a harmonious labour environment and supporting initiatives that uplift Nigeria’s workforce.

The commissioning of the CCESSAN secretariat and the launch of critical safety publications mark a renewed commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation in Nigeria’s construction sector.

Vice President Shettima Not Barred from Aso Villa – Presidency Debunks Viral Claim

0

In response to recent false reports circulating on certain online platforms, the presidency categorically denies claims that Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, was denied access to the Presidential Villa.

These reports are not only false but are also part of a broader, well-orchestrated effort to spread misinformation, create confusion, and suggest a rift within the leadership of the country. The aim appears to be to mislead the public into believing that there is discord between the President and the Vice President.

Let it be clearly stated: at no point was the Vice President barred from accessing the Villa. The story is entirely fictional—a baseless fabrication with no grounding in reality.

Some obscure blogs have gone as far as claiming that armed military personnel blocked the Vice President’s access. Such narratives represent the height of falsehood and sensationalism, and reflect nothing more than the exhausted imaginations of those determined to deceive the public.

Earlier this week, similar fake news stories circulated regarding campaign posters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. The Presidency also dismissed those claims, reiterating that such tactics are aimed at undermining the integrity and unity of the administration.

It is regrettable that these mischief-makers continue to underestimate the strong, collaborative relationship between President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima. These efforts to plant seeds of division are futile and have once again proven to be based on discredited sources and misinformation.

The Vice President remains focused on the serious task of governance and on supporting the President in delivering on the administration’s commitments to the Nigerian people. He has no interest in distractions, particularly those rooted in fiction and mischief.

We commend all Nigerians who continue to stand against the spread of fake news and who remain supportive of the democratic mandate entrusted to this administration. Your continued vigilance and trust are deeply appreciated.

Finally, we urge the public to disregard these malicious and misleading reports, and call on the media to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and responsibility by verifying information through credible sources.

2027: Fayose Promises to Work Against Atiku’s Presidential Aspiration

0

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has warned former Vice President Atiku Abubakar against running for president in 2027 on the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, platform.

Fayose has vowed to work against Atiku if he runs on the PDP platform.

He made the revelation when appearing on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Friday.
Fayose also stated that a southerner cannot become Nigeria’s president following President Bola Tinubu’s reign.

He stated: “I am telling you that if Atiku returns, I will work against him. It’s time to learn our lessons. Nigerians want to hear, decide, and understand.

“A Chief Executive’s power lives on as long as he does not abuse his authority.

“If an Asiwaju argues that because I am the commander-in-chief, my ADC should shoot that individual, should the ADC shoot him? No.

“The truth is that the party’s supremacy must be equitable and accountable. Irresponsible parents raise irresponsible children, who will experience irresponsible conditions, rebellion, and wrath.

“People can say what they like, but after Asiwaju’s tenure, let a Southerner come out, I will also come out and say a Southerner can’t be president of Nigeria.”

On April 1, Sodiq visited my home and informed me that Brother Muca and Alaba had also received their money, along with some from Lateef, the brand manager, he claimed.

Latif stated that he collected N600k using N200k, which inspired me. My life was in the open, so I took out the money I had saved from insurance. I put N10 million into CBEX on April 1st, but it all disappeared.

Since I was alone until you brought me to CBEX, they won’t rest well even if they pass away well.
