Fear as Stylist Ejiro Vanishes After Joining Prayer Group

0

There have reportedly been no signs of the location of Ejiro, a Nigerian stylist, for more than two weeks.
An entrepreneur going by the name of Nkechi Harry-Ngonadi reportedly expressed concern over Ejiro’s abrupt disappearance in a social media post.
After Ejiro joined a specific prayer group on social media, Harry-Ngonadi claimed she sold all she owned, shut down her successful business, and disappeared from her house.

Additionally, she begged the public for help in providing crucial information regarding Ejiro’s location, stating that she plans to pursue legal action otherwise.

What happened to Ejiro, the CEO of @stylebyejiro? Ejiro is one of the two wonderful women who were close to me and abruptly vanished a few weeks ago, which caused me much distress. I have been praying for both women fervently, and I was particularly concerned about Ejiro. I attempted to phone and message, but to no effect. Despite hearing concerning information from her family when I contacted them, I chose to conduct my own research.

According to what I’ve been informed, Ejiro joined a social media prayer group here, and ever since then, her life and business have taken a nosedive, shutting down entirely, selling all she owned, and going missing.

As with prior birthdays, I contacted her to pray with her a few weeks ago, but I haven’t been able to get through to her since. If you have any important information, please get in touch with me since I plan to pursue this legally. Help is needed for Ejiro. Kindly offer up prayers for her. #Whereisejiro

Sisi Yemmie, a well-known food content creator and influencer, posted on 𝕏 during Ejiro’s disappearance, saying, “Apparently there are a couple of groups on Instagram/social media that lures successful women (9ja) under the name of religion, makes them turn their backs on their families, takes over their business and properties and you never see these women again… things dey occur.”

Tragedy as Explosion Kills Nine in Borno

0

Nine individuals have been confirmed deceased due to an explosion at a local bus stop in Mairari village, located within the Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State.
The explosion, which was triggered by an IED, reportedly occurred around 11 a.m. on Saturday and left several others wounded.
Punch reports that the blast was aimed at individuals waiting to get onto vehicles at the bus stop. The local community is reeling from the incident, with many still recuperating from the trauma.

On Sunday, Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, the Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, verified the unfortunate event to Punch. He conveyed profound regret regarding the loss of life, referring to the victims as “resilient constituents.”

Lawan stated, “It is regrettable that nine of my tenacious constituents lost their lives to planted IEDs as they awaited transportation at a local bus stop in Mairari village.”

He prayed for the souls of the deceased in his statement, saying, “May Allah grant their souls Aljanatul Firdaus. I pray for a quick recovery of those who were evacuated to hospitals in Monguno and Maiduguri for treatment after the incident.

Lawan elaborated that Mairari village had undergone two previous resettlements with civil authority but had become deserted again due to ongoing attacks from Boko Haram and ISWAP.

He stated, “You know that Mairari village, which was the only village to be resettled twice under civil authority in the entire Guzamala Local Government Area, has once again been abandoned due to Boko Haram/ISWAP attacks.”

The legislator remarked that numerous displaced individuals who had fled to Monguno, Guzamala, and Maiduguri would travel to Mairari for farming activities. Regrettably, terrorists who had been tracking their movements set the IEDs at the bus stop, which detonated while they were waiting to head back to their destinations.

Lawan expressed his sympathy to the families of the victims as well as to those who suffered injuries in the assault. He urged the military and other security agencies to act swiftly to reestablish safety in the Guzamala area, especially in Gudumbali (the council’s headquarters) and nearby regions that have been dominated by Boko Haram for an extended period.

He called for renewed efforts to secure areas such as Mairari village, which has lacked civil authority for years because of the ongoing insurgency.

Jandor: Here’s Why I’m Back in APC Despite Coalition Against Tinubu

0

Jandor, also known as Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for governor of Lagos in the general elections of 2023, has given an explanation for his choice to rejoin the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
When Jandor visited the APC state secretariat in Acme, Ikeja, the party’s executive council, presided over by State Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, greeted him.
During the event, he indicated that he would run for governor of Lagos again on the APC platform and stated that he would be willing to back President Bola Tinubu’s reelection campaign in 2027.
“We are merely coming to formally inform you of our decision to return home and to the APC family; this is not our official declaration.” It is a pleasure to return to the winning family.

“In order to continue winning for Nigerians, we have decided to combine our numerical strength with the current party strength.

“We are concentrating on figuring out how to dismantle the coalition against Mr. President and try to regain our position as President of Nigeria in 2027,” Jandor explained.

In 2022, Jandor remarked that his decision to resign from the APC to the PDP was a strategic effort to find room to demonstrate his abilities.

According to him, “I am a man of conviction.” “I don’t just do what the others do. Then, we left APC for strategic reasons. Now that we’re back, we have political clout rather than nothing.

He ascribed his decision to rejoin the APC to the growing political ploys to undermine President Tinubu’s chances in 2027.

A Yoruba saying goes, “Omo eni o ni se idi bebere ka fi leke si idi omo elomiran,” which means that charity starts at home. It is our duty to protect our own. Ensuring President Tinubu’s comeback in 2027 is our top goal. The rest is incidental,” he continued.

Jandor said that if the party supports his goal, he is still willing to running for governor, even though he has not officially expressed his intention to do so.

“I have not abandoned my bid for governor. In the event that the party hands us the ticket, we will seize it. We shall, however, comply with whatever the party chooses.

He reaffirmed his dedication to reintegrating fully into the APC and returning with the same degree of political significance as when he left.

In welcome Jandor back, APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi said the decision was strategic and well-timed for the party.

The 37 LCDA chairmen and all 20 local government representatives were consulted before to this reunion. Ojelabi said, “We need to make amends in 2027 because the 2023 elections weren’t our best performance.” “With you back, we can deliver at every level and break that record.”

He promised him complete reintegration and acknowledged Jandor’s political clout in Lagos.

One of Asiwaju Tinubu’s qualities is forgiveness. His former opponents are frequently accepted and assimilated after they return. The door is open, and you are taking the correct move today.

In addition, Vice Chairman Maiyegun Moshood praised Jandor’s comeback, stating that it will contribute to bringing back the spirit of Lagos politics.

“You have a strong enthusiasm for Lagos. He said, “Your return strengthens the core of our party.”

According to Seye Oladejo, the party’s publicity secretary, Jandor’s defection had severely damaged the PDP.

Because of this action, the PDP no longer has a viable candidate for governor. Their party is not as strong as it once was,” he said.

Nigerian workers have received assurances from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that their efforts will not go unappreciated.
According to reports, PDP praised Nigerian workers for their perseverance in the face of economic hardship brought on the All Progressives Congress (APC) policies in a Workers Day message posted on its 𝕏 feed by party spokesperson, Debo Ologunagba.
As issues facing employees at work, PDP emphasized soaring inflation, growing living expenses, dwindling purchasing power, and unchecked insecurity.

“We proudly salute the resilience, dedication, and indomitable spirit of Nigerian workers, the heartbeat of our nation’s progress,” it said on Workers’ Day 2025.

“Your unwavering efforts support our communities, propel Nigeria’s economy, and give us hope for a better future.
We acknowledge that the flip-flop policies of the failing All Progressives Congress (APC) administration have caused you to suffer a great deal of hardship at work, including spiraling inflation, rising living expenses, diminishing buying power, unrelenting insecurity, and increased hardship.

As we continue to spearhead the patriotic endeavor to free our country from the APC’s sway in the run-up to 2027, we stand in solidarity with you. Your efforts will never be in vain, we promise.

Abuja Lawyers Protest, Insist on Fubara’s Return Amid Emergency Rule Tensions

In Abuja, a group of attorneys representing Lawyers in Defense of Democracy have started a protest, calling for the reinstatement of democratic administration in Rivers State and the recall of Governor Siminalayi Fubara from his suspension.

This comes as the group has urged the US and the rest of the world to put pressure on President Bola Tinubu to reverse his decision to suspend Governor Fubara and the House of Assembly of Rivers State.

The country director of Lawyers in Defence of Democracy, Barr. Uchechukwu Udeh, emphasized that President Tinubu’s proclamation of a state of emergency in Rivers State “is unconstitutional and undermines democracy.”

The group encouraged US President Donald Trump to step in and exert pressure on the Nigerian government to reinstate democracy in Rivers State in a letter to the president.

They maintained that Governor Fubara’s and the state assembly’s suspensions are blatant attempts to subvert constitutional order.

Due process was not followed, the organization said, and President Tinubu’s action was obviously hurried.

Additionally, the attorneys denounced the National Assembly’s ratification of the President’s decision as an anomaly in democracy.

The organization therefore called on President Tinubu to change his mind and permit Governor Fubara to carry on serving as the state’s lawfully elected governor.

We are at a crossroads, a grim moment of reckoning where constitutional order is being tested most shamelessly in a period where democracy is supposed to rule supremely and provide benefits to the public.

“By suspending a democratically elected governor, deputy governor, and whole State House of Assembly on the pretext of emergency rule, the President of Nigeria, who vowed to enforce the Constitution, has taken an unprecedented and illegal move.

What kind of emergency? The letter said, “Nigerians and Rivers people did not see or feel any such emergency.”

We maintain that no statute, constitutional clause, or established convention grants the president the authority to unilaterally disband the institutions of a state government that has been elected.

The only time this could have occurred was during the military junta era, but a military dictatorship is not currently in control of us.

“The president ought to have given the different state organs the opportunity to settle the disputes. It is unworthy that Osun State’s local government administration problem, which occurred until recently, did not result in a state of emergency proclamation.

“A constitutional democracy with a presidential system of government now governs the nation.

Since democracy is a learning process and the judiciary has proven its ability to resolve conflicts, the Lawyers in Defence of Democracy argued that President Tinubu shouldn’t have made the judgment. FINISH.

Jos Market Blaze: We’re in This Together – Gov Mutfwang Tells Traders

Caleb Mutfwang, the Governor of Plateau State, has consoled traders at Terminus Market who had lost millions of dollars in products due to a fire.
According to reports, the popular Terminus Market in Jos caught fire on Tuesday, resulting in the loss of millions of dollars in products and property.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

Governor Mutfwang pledged the traders of his administration’s support in a statement issued on Wednesday.

He highlighted the importance of all inhabitants avoiding actions that jeopardize the state’s peace and unity.

It went as follows: “Fire outbreak in Jos, the Plateau State capital, has destroyed some parts of the popular Jos commercial Terminus market.” I was deeply saddened to learn of the fire outbreak that happened on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, damaging parts of the Terminus Market in Jos North and causing the loss of millions of dollars in merchandise.

“My heart goes out to the afflicted traders. Your pain is mine, especially during these difficult economic times. Be certain that the government will not leave you. We shall take early action to mitigate the effects of this catastrophe.

“I ask for calm and vigilance. Let us avoid taking acts that could jeopardize our beloved country’s stability and togetherness. Parents and guardians must guide their children correctly. Let us stand together in solidarity. Together, we will overcome.”

Ezebunwo Ichemati, the ousted Chairman of the Port Harcourt Local Government Area, has refuted rumors that Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara, who was suspended, bowed before his predecessor, former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, to ask for forgiveness.
According to the claims, which were obtained, Fubara and Wike met in Abuja as part of a larger reconciliation attempt to end the ongoing political unrest in Rivers State.
Two All Progressives Congress (APC) governors and a former Southwest governor reportedly facilitated the meeting.

Fubara reportedly knelt during the meeting and begged Wike’s pardon, requesting assistance in restoring him to his position as governor.

However, Ichemati stated in a statement on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, that although Fubara was in a good mood and dedicated to Rivers’ development and peace, he would not do it while kneeling.
Ichemati emphasized that the reports were made up to deceive the public and urged people to ignore the falsehoods.

“One who did not prostrate themselves to plead or lobby for the position of governor cannot also do the same to stay as one,” he stated.

Since no one party bears sole responsibility during a conflict, it is unnecessary for a certain group’s propaganda to beg.

In order for there to be genuine reconciliation, both sides must engage in dialogue, compromise, and not beg.

“Even if you are mumu, don’t believe every lie you are told, even if it makes you feel good or boosts your camp’s pride. Rather, ignore the lies of begging.”

For Rivers State to grow, there must be peace. Despite his apparent humility, Governor Siminalayi Fubara is in a very good mood and is fervently dedicated to the peaceful development of Rivers State.

Peter Obi and Atiku Are No Longer Relevant – APC Chieftess Sadda

The activist from Katsina supported President Tinubu and Governor Dikko Radda’s reelection in 2027 in an interview with the Nation.

According to her, “the people are satisfied with the various projects carried out for them and the performance of President Tinubu at the local, state, and federal governments levels.”

According to Sadda, President Tinubu cannot be overthrown by an alliance between Atiku and Obi. Atiku and Obi are unknown to Katsina voters, she asserted. Hajia Mohammed Zainab Sadda, the chieftess of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the past presidential candidates of the PDP and LP, respectively, have no chance in 2027.

According to reports, Hajia Sadda stated that Nigerians are happy with President Bola Tinubu’s performance.
Nigerians have written off Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and company, and the opposition’s gang-up protest against President Tinubu’s reelection has failed from the start. They are also unknown to Katsina people,” she said.

The governor is still dedicated to bringing governance to the people, the APC’s senatorial candidate for Katsina Central said, urging Katsina residents to continue to support Radda.

“I want to reassure the people of Katsina that Governor Dikko Radda is still dedicated to giving local governments complete autonomy and is adamant that doing so will not burden his administration but rather present a chance for grassroots development.

“Local councils will have the authority and resources to serve their communities effectively and ensure that projects and services reach the people directly if they are empowered,” she continued.

Breaking: EFCC Told to Release Aisha Achimugu Following Court Ruling

The Federal High Court of Abuja’s Justice Inyang Ekwo has mandated that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) free Aisha Achimugu, a socialite and entrepreneur who has been imprisoned, within twenty-four hours.
In addition to issuing the order on Wednesday, the judge mandated that all parties return to court on May 2, 2025, to provide an update on the order’s progress.
The EFCC is presently investigating Achimugu for alleged offenses that include ownership of property suspected of having been obtained illegally, money laundering, corruption, obtaining money through false pretenses, and criminal conspiracy.

She had previously been released on administrative bail by the commission, but the EFCC claimed she had broken the terms of her bail, leading to her being proclaimed wanted.
In relation to the current investigation, Justice Ekwo had ordered Achimugu to surrender to the EFCC on Monday. She was also told that the agency needed to bring her before the court on Wednesday, April 30, to give an update.

The court has now mandated her immediate release within a 24-hour deadline after she appeared and the EFCC detained her.

Appeal Court Rules Against Professor Ogban in Akpabio Election Fraud Case

The conviction and three-year jail sentence of Professor Peter Ogban for manipulating the 2019 Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial election results in favor of Senator Godswill Akpabio have been maintained by the Court of Appeal in Calabar, Cross River State.
The High Court in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, had already declared Ogban guilty of election misconduct. The appeal court upheld this decision in its verdict on Wednesday.
Because of Ogban’s academic reputation and the public’s confidence in him during the election process, the court took a strong stand against his misbehavior and emphasized how severe his acts were.

For the senatorial election, Professor Ogban, a professor of soil physics at the University of Calabar, was return officer. He was charged by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after it was discovered that he had falsified official records to support Godswill Akpabio, who was then the minister of Niger Delta affairs.
For fabricating results to boost Akpabio’s support for his opponent, Christopher Ekpenyong of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogban was found guilty.

Akpabio has refuted any role in the electoral irregularities.

In Akwa Ibom, Barrister Mike Igini, the former INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, oversaw the investigation and legal action that resulted in Ogban’s conviction.

Because of his efforts, Ogban and Professor Ignatius Uduk, two academics, were prosecuted for their participation in declaring manipulated election results. Now, the Court of Appeal’s decision upholds one of those historic convictions.

Parallel to this, a Uyo State High Court in February condemned Professor Ignatius Uduk of the University of Uyo to three years in prison for perjury and announcing phony results in the 2019 general elections. For the Essien Udim State Constituency vote, Uduk was the returning officer.

Along with the jail term, the court also assessed a 100,000 naira fine.

The case of Uduk marked the second significant conviction for electoral misconduct of a professor from Nigeria. Following several missed court appearances, a warrant for his arrest was issued in November 2020, and he was first arraigned in December 2020.

The trial was beset by numerous delays, including a dramatic moment when Uduk fainted in court during cross-examination, and he entered a not guilty plea to the three counts of the INEC-brought allegation.

At one point during the trial, Uduk accused the presiding judge of being biased and asked him to step aside. We approved that request.

The state’s chief judge transferred the case, but it was later sent back to the original judge for further proceedings.
