Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB, a former military head of state, has stated that Nigerians do not believe in secession.

Nigerians, according to Babangida, believe the country should remain united because they value peace.

When asked about his thoughts on the Biafra and Yoruba nation agitation, the former Head of State spoke on Arise TV.

Nigerians, he said, are opposed to secession because they value their peace of mind.

“It is always good to agitate,” Babangida says, “but there is this belief that this country should be one.”

“When they make a fuss, they find that it is not well received because Nigerians generally do not believe in anything that disturbs their tranquility. They’re not going to do it.

“If you look back, if you take a place like Baga in the north-east, the Igbo, Yoruba man travelled up to Baga for trading, he lived very comfortably, he lived very well with the people around there,” says the author.

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has recently been at the forefront of the Biafra agitation, while Sunday Adeyemo, aka Igboho, has been advocating for Yoruba Nation.

Buhari orders police to arrest Nigerian protesters in London; demonstrators refuse to back down and label Buhari a terrorist

Buhari orders police to arrest Nigerian protesters in London; demonstrators refuse to back down and label Buhari a terrorist.

President Muhammadu Buhari is said to have dispatched police officers to London in order to prevent Nigerian protesters from converging in front of the Nigeria House in Trafalgar Square.

Some peaceful protesters demanding Buhari’s return to Nigeria were challenged by British police on Thursday evening, according to a video obtained by SaharaReporters.

Buhari is receiving medical treatment in London.

The Nigerian President stayed behind after attending the Global Education Summit on Financing the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) 2021-2025 to see his doctors, despite resident doctors in his country going on strike.

The Nigerian protesters were seen speaking with the police officers, who appeared to persuade them to stop protesting there.

More police officers were also seen arriving in police vans, while a Nigerian woman could be heard screaming without fear, demanding that the President return to Nigeria and put an end to the killings in the West African country.

“The cameras are on,” a police officer was overheard saying. “Someone was sticking out last night, you just got lucky,” he said when asked if he enforces the law, adding, “I am without fear or favor.”

“They are killing in our country, they are killing our people, Buhari is here with Boris Johnson, and I am surprised that the Prime Minister will condone such, condoning corruption and murder, it is terrible,” one of the female protesters said.

”They are murdering people in our country. Let him simply resign; enough with the killings in Nigeria; where is that done, and he has the audacity to come to this country for medical treatment. Our story is that he keeps stealing our money and murdering people. We will not back down because President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria is a terrorist; we are not breaking the law; it is our civic right, and we will exercise it.

”Buhari is a serial killer. Nigeria has no single healthcare system, Buhari has been in power for more than six years, he continues to borrow, the economy is deteriorating, and inflation is rising. Our naira is worthless. They kidnap children and murder innocent people.”

“There’s a criminal named Buhari here,” a male protester said, “and what we’d like to do is get him back to where he came from.”

“That’s a big gun,” he said when he saw an officer. He wasn’t on the door because I didn’t put him there. I’m surprised you’ve returned. Wow, more (police officers) are on their way! “This is a serious situation.”

“Day 8 of Buhari Watch, we are here in front of Nigerian House here in Central London, Trafalgar Square, where our president is still missing, yes the police have come and gone, they know we are not doing anything illegal, this is the right of citizens to protest, they were here to protect us,” a male protester said after the police left. Yes, the cops were there to keep us safe.

“Buhari, your administration has been the worst in Nigerian history; that is the only award we can bestow on you, and your administration will not be allowed to get away with the crimes you have committed while in office. The innocent blood you spill on a daily basis will continue to scream for justice.

“You are a complete disgrace, Buhari. Leave now; no one wants you to stay; the people you surround yourself with are only interested in themselves; they will be judged; they will turn their backs on you; they will not honor a thief; no one is on your side; you are a kidnapper, a terrorist.

“If you are not hiding in London, where are you?” Buhari, you are a wicked President; resign now and release Sowore, who has been imprisoned for over two years. Nnamdi Kanu should be released. Now is the time to release Sunday Igboho! Now is the time to free all political prisoners! Now is the time to release all freedom fighters! Kidnappers, terrorists, and Boko Haram must all be pursued. Return to your starting point. Return to the Sambisa forest. Now is the time for revolution!”

Allow your husbands to suck your breasts, says the Chief Nurse to expectant mothers

0

A Chief Nursing Sister, Roseline Oladimeji, has advised pregnant women to let their husbands suck their breasts.

This, according to the expert, will help them prepare for breastfeeding after delivery.

Oladimeji spoke at a Festac Town, Lagos, event commemorating the 2021 World Breastfeeding Week, which was organized by Amuwo Odofin Maternal and Child Centre.

“Let your husband suck your breasts while you’re pregnant. It will help the nipples to be out and make it easier for your baby to latch on, in addition to bonding,” she said.

Her advice to women, according to NAN, is to rub vaseline on their nipples before going to bed. Oladimeji claims that this softens them.

According to the Chief Nurse, proper breast preparation during pregnancy prevents lactation problems after delivery.

Colostrum, the first form of milk produced after birth, contains nutrients that help boost the baby’s immunity, she explained.

Some foods, herbs, and medications, according to Oladimeji, can harm babies through breast milk.

She warned that taking palmwine to help with lactation could cause alcohol to enter the baby’s system while breastfeeding.

Mothers should also ignore advice from people who aren’t medical professionals, according to the expert.

CNN employees were fired after they arrived at work without being vaccinated

0

According to US media reports, three CNN employees were fired for failing to comply with the network’s coronavirus policy by arriving at work unvaccinated.

CNN President Jeff Zucker said in an internal memo emailed to employees on Thursday and obtained by several US media outlets that the company had become aware of three employees who came to work unvaccinated in the previous week. They were all “terminated.”

In snippets of the memo tweeted by CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy, he said, “Let me be clear — we have a zero-tolerance policy on this.”

The names, positions, and locations of the fired employees were not mentioned in his memo. CNN did not respond to a request for comment right away.

The network had been relying on an honor system in which workers were stabbed but not required to show proof. However, Zucker stated that this could change in the future.

According to the memo, inoculations are required for anyone reporting in the field, working with other employees, or entering the offices.

The US federal government announced in May that it was legal for employers to require employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19 before physically entering the workplace.

Facebook, Google, and Microsoft have all stated that employees will be required to get vaccinated before returning to their US offices.

As the fast-spreading Delta variant fuels another surge of Covid-19 cases, they are among several major US employers who have recently revised their virus policies, vaccine mandates, or return-to-work dates.

CNN’s company-wide September 7 return-to-work date will likely be postponed until some time in October, according to Zucker’s memo to employees.

He estimates that about a third of the network’s American newsroom staff is currently using the offices on a volunteer basis.

Nigeria’s next president should be in his 60s, according to Babangida

0

General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Nigeria’s former military president, has suggested that the country’s next president should be in his 60s by 2023 due to the nature of the job.

On Friday morning, Babangida gave an exclusive interview to Arise Television.

Babangida, also known as IBB, claimed that one of the reasons Nigeria has failed to progress and realize the founding fathers’ dreams is that Nigerians have lost faith in their own country’s future.

Although Babangida did not name any individuals as ineligible for the presidency, he did suggest that Nigerians focus on individuals in their 60s as potential presidential candidates in 2023.

Babangida stated that the country is endowed with both human and natural resources, and suggested that a few people in their 60s had the potential to become president and effectively run the country.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, who accused Nigerians of both creating and destroying their own country, identified bad leadership as a major cause of the country’s socioeconomic problems.

IBB described the presidential candidates he was thinking of as people in their sixties with contacts all over the country who had been traveling around the geopolitical zones promoting their acceptability and capacity.

“If you get a good leadership that links with the people and tries to talk with the people rather than talking over them, then we’ll be fine,” IBB said.

“I’ve begun to imagine a good Nigerian leader. That is, someone who travels across the country and makes friends almost everywhere he goes and knows at least one person with whom he can communicate.

“That’s a person who knows a lot about economics and is also a good politician, so he should be able to communicate with Nigerians and other people. I’ve seen one, two, or three of these people in their sixties.”

When asked if the person could win the presidential election in 2023, the former military leader from Minna said, “I believe so if we can get him.”

“I do believe in the future of Nigeria, but Nigerians do not believe in the future of their country,” the former military president, who turns 80 on August 17, 2021, said in response to a question about whether he still believed in the country’s future. They both created and destroyed.”

Reiterating his belief in Nigeria’s future and urging Nigerians to remain patriotic, Babangida, who claimed to be in good health as he approached his 80th birthday and expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life, advised Nigerians to vote for the person who has the ability to transform the country when the time comes.

Sultan of Sokoto laments Nigeria’s insecurity and high cost of living

0

Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, Sultan of Sokoto and President of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), has decried the country’s lingering insecurity threats and high cost of living, which have resulted in things not improving in every sector.

The Sultan made the remark during the 3rd Conference of the Da’awah Coordination Council of Nigeria (DCCN), which is an amalgamation of about 52 Da’awa groups in Gombe State, on Thursday.

The Sultan lamented the country’s high cost of living insecurity, saying that “action must be taken by political leaders and elite to address the issues.”

“We must tell ourselves the truth and stop deceiving ourselves into believing that things are improving. The reality is that things aren’t getting any better.

“As a result, the sooner we realize things aren’t getting better, the better, so we can sit down and figure out how to solve our problems.

“We must work hard to address insecurity, hunger, poverty, and all of the other problems that plague our great country.

“We have problems, yes, we know we have problems, and as I previously stated, things are not normal and right in this country, but we can make things normal and right by Allah’s will, so we must work hard.

“People are suffering, and while we have a few people who have a lot and a lot of people who have nothing,” the revered monarch said, “we are not helping the poor.”

As a result, Abubakar advised the government to secure adequate food supplies and store them in order to sell them at a heavily discounted price to the general public.

“The country cannot experience peace, security, or development without food. And if we don’t develop, we’ll just be a bunch of people sitting around,” he added.
