Silverbird’s MBGN Pageant 2021 is sponsored by Geely Nigeria

0

The Silverbird Group partnered with Geely Motors as the official car sponsor of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant, which was proudly brought to Nigeria by Mikano International.

Geely’s partnership with MBGN – Nigeria’s leading pageant platform, where finalists automatically qualify for international pageants such as Miss World and Miss Universe – is in line with the brand’s ethos and expertise in designing cars that exemplify elegance, sophistication, and, most importantly, dependability. Geely Nigeria, in its capacity as a sponsor, enthralled the MBGN contestants for two days of unforgettable fun, beginning with a vibrant motorcade on September 12th and ending on an extra high note with some beach fun the next day, with full support from Mikano International.

The purpose of the motorcade was to show the MBGN contestants, who were chosen from across Nigeria, around the host city of Lagos, as well as to give the ladies and their Silverbird crew a firsthand look at Geely’s high-tech vehicles. The twenty-one-car convoy set out on a tour of Lagos’ suburbs, departing from Geely Nigeria’s flagship showroom on Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, and stopping at important locations such as Silverbird’s (MBGN’s organizers) headquarters on Ahmadu Bello Way and the Eko Hotel and Suites (the venue for the crowning event) on Adetokunbo Ademola, Victoria Island. All three models in Geely Nigeria’s current lineup were represented in the convoy: the iconic Emgrand 7, the X7 Sport SUV, and the recently launched Coolray crossover SUV.

Following a successful motorcade parade, the Geely-Mikano team treated the MBGN contestants to a day of music, games, and fun at Moist Beach Club on Victoria Island. The beach event was attended by celebrities from the entertainment industry and friends of the Geely-Mikano family, including Don Jazzy, Ayra Starr, comedian Sydney Talker, Guy Murray Bruce, President Silverbird Group, and others. The girls were divided into four teams, each representing a feature of a Geely car: safety, hi-tech, power, and design, and they participated in a volleyball tournament as part of their team activities.

Miss Abuja, Oluchi Madubuike, a certified nursing practitioner, was crowned the MBGN 2021 and also the holder of the title of Miss World Nigeria 2021 on the 18th of September at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, capping off the two days of fun. Ralph Haidar, the National Sales and Brand Manager, Mikano, presented the MBGN queen with the keys to a brand new Emgrand7 (Motors Division). When Haidar addressed the contestants, he reaffirmed Geely-commitment Mikano’s to women’s empowerment in Nigeria, saying, “Today you’re the most beautiful girls in Nigeria, tomorrow you’ll be the most beautiful entrepreneurs, artists, politicians, mothers of Nigeria, Africa, and the world.” He also mentioned how Geely Nigeria is proud to be associated with the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria platform, which is a prestigious and reputable brand that has successfully groomed young Nigerian ladies into icons of beauty and intellect, thanks to Mikano International.

Miss World Nigeria 2021 is the newest addition to the Geely- Mikano family of celebrated members, and following the crowning event, she was accompanied by members of the Silverbird team, led by Mr Guy Murray- Bruce, to Geely’s flagship showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos, for the official handover ceremony of her stunning Geely Emgrand 7. They were all greeted warmly by the Geely-Mikano team, and after inspecting the vehicle, she exclaimed, “I love it, I can’t wait to be riding in my new car,” and expressed her gratitude to Geely-Mikano and, of course, the Silverbird Group for the “amazing opportunity.”

EXPOSED: 2023: Aisha Buhari Manipulates All Progressives Congress Chiefs, Plots Brother’s Ascension As Adamawa Governor

0

As the election in 2023 approaches, Mrs Aisha Buhari, the President’s wife, has perfected a strategy to install her younger brother, Mr Mohammed Halilu Modi, as the next Governor of Adamawa State. It had been gathered.

It has been learned that the First Lady’s machinations, which have splintered the Adamawa chapter of the All Progressives Congress, have the full support of Malam Mai Mala Buni, the Yobe State Governor and Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).

Aisha Buhari is the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the former Vice-Chairman of the North-East Zone, and Mr Saidu Naira, the party’s Financial Secretary, have been identified as the foot soldiers manipulating the Adamawa State congresses to facilitate the emergence of the First Lady’s brother as the APC’s governorship candidate in the state.

According to a source, the First Lady’s brother has never held a public office or worked as a civil servant in his life.
According to reports, Aisha recently sent Modi to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State, to study, while the President’s wife perfected the taking over of the APC’s structure in Adamawa as part of her preparation to ensure that her brother was tutored for the job of governor.

Concerns have been raised that the first lady’s desperate attempt to seize complete control of the party’s structure in Adamawa State is causing resentment among aggrieved stakeholders.

The First Lady used her influence to intimidate perceived political opponents of her brother, Senator Dahiru Binani, Senator Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow (former Governor of the state), and Senator Ishaku Abbo (who represents Adamawa North Senatorial zone) in the Senate, at the recently concluded APC Local Government Congresses in the state, in order to hijack the party structure in the state.

“There is a serious problem brewing at the Adamawa APC,” a source familiar with the situation added, “which, if not resolved quickly, may cost the party the governorship again, as it did in 2019.”

“Remember that the party lost the governorship election in 2019 to incumbent and member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Ahmadu Fintiri, over the same power struggle between Mrs Buhari, Bindow, Binani, and other opponents in the quest to have her brother become governor.

“In a similar vein, state security chiefs were threatened with dismissal if they did not help Modi achieve his goal.”

It was also revealed that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, was the first victim of the threat, as he was said to have insisted on fully supervising the Yola South congresses.

As a result, Senator Binani’s candidate defeated the First Lady’s candidate.

Enraged by the turn of events, Aisha was said to have ordered the CP to be transferred out of Adamawa right away.

Mr Mohammed Ahmed Barde, a new CP, had since taken his place.

“As things stand today, all heads of federal agencies in the state whose line of duty involves supervising party congresses are living in fear of the unknown if they try to work against the First Lady’s brother’s interests,” another party official said.

According to sources, the quartet in Abuja changed the majority of the names from the ward and local government congresses that were sent to the APC national secretariat, resulting in a slew of lawsuits challenging the changes.

“I will not repeat the mistake of 2019, where we allowed Governor Bindow to have total control of the party to the detriment of many of us,” Aisha, who is not hiding her deep involvement in the ongoing manipulation, was quoted as saying.

According to sources, Aisha vowed that she could not afford to leave the office with her husband in 2023 without a member of her family taking over Adamawa State to ensure their political relevance in the years ahead.

“Unless something is done quickly to resolve the grievances of the ward and local government congresses amicably, many stakeholders may defect to the PDP, especially since the state congress is close by.

“If this is allowed to happen, the APC will once again be the big loser in 2023, just as it was in 2019. They can only help the PDP and governor Fintiri win re-election in 2023 if they keep going in the same direction “, according to a senior party official.

In addition, the current manipulation in Adamawa is taking place at a time when the general sentiment in the state is that the governorship seat should be rotated to another zone outside of Adamawa Central in order to ensure fairness and a sense of belonging to all of the former Gongola State’s geopolitical zones.

Despite the fact that the First Lady believes the Central Zone has yet to produce a governor and that it will do so in 2023, APC stakeholders oppose her position, claiming that her zone has produced the Secretary to the Government of the Federation since 2015.

“Additionally, because Aisha is the First Lady of the Federation and hails from the Central Zone, the zone has had its fair share of power and should hand off the governorship seat to another zone in 2023,” the source added.

Similarly, the Northern Senatorial Zone had produced a governor six times in a row, and the feeling is that the zone had reaped sufficient benefits.

Another party source added, “Such fairness can never be achieved if congresses are manipulated against the wishes and aspirations of the people.”

“This is what happened during the local government congresses. While the election of party officials in Yola-South, Sen. Binani’s and Mallam Nuhu Ribadu’s home local government, was held at the party’s state secretariat in Jimeta amid heavy security operatives as opposed to the Yola South party secretariat, Sen. Bindow and Sen Abbo had no idea where the Mubi North and Mubi South congresses took place until now.”

When contacted on the phone, the First Lady’s spokesperson, Aliyu Abdullahi, who said he was in New York, declined to comment, simply saying, “Please, I have nothing to comment on that story.”

Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim, Force Commander, FC, Multinational Joint Taskforce, says the fight against terrorism necessitates a global approach.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders in order to isolate and clear terrorists from the Lake Chad Basin area.

Major General Ibrahim stated this while declaring the Joint Integrated Operations Planning Course open in N’Djamena, Chad, according to a statement released by Colonel Mohammed Dole, Chief of Military Public Information, HQ MNJTF, N’DJAMENA CHAD, who emphasized the importance of restoring security and stability in the region.

He emphasized that the fight against Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents should not be left to the military alone during the course, which took place from September 27 to October 1, 2021.

According to him, military actions alone will not solve the problem, necessitating a multi-faceted approach to address it.

“It has been established that the fight against terrorism, in general, requires a global approach, integrating various skills held by both civilians and the military,” the FC said at the event.

Capabilities in planning and leadership
The course, according to Major General Ibrahim, was designed to strengthen the MNJTF’s planning and leadership capabilities in order to achieve the desired security.

The FC emphasized the uniqueness of the training, which brought together civilian and military representatives from six African countries (Benin, Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger, Chad, and Senegal) as well as the United Kingdom. The FC predicted that the course would improve participants’ knowledge by better understanding the crisis management process.

He also expressed gratitude to Operation TURUS, the coordinating partner, and praised the efforts of the partnership system established by the British Armed Forces to provide multi-forum support to West and Central African countries.

Major General Ibrahim urged participants to put forth a concerted effort to get the most out of the training, emphasizing the importance of discipline, interest, and commitment as necessary components for knowledge acquisition.

Senior Military Officers
In other news, the MNJTF’s Senior Military Leadership (SML), which included Force Commander Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim (Nigeria), Deputy Force Commander Brigadier General Abdou Harouna Assoumane (Nigeria), and Chief of Staff Colonel Nana Paulin Njomo (Cameroon), attended an orientation training workshop at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa from September 20 to 22.

Briefings on the African Union Crisis Response Mechanism, African Peace and Security Architecture, the role of the African Standby Force (ASF), AU financial support to the MNJTF, and the status of the ongoing implementation of the AU additional support to the MNJTF, among other topics, were held during the two-day event.

The main goal of the orientation course was to introduce the MNJTF SML to the AU system and values, as well as to improve the MNJTF-AU synergy.

During the briefings, Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, the AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security Commission, praised the MNJTF leadership’s efforts and urged them to continue to improve the stability of the Lake Chad Basin Region.

He described the MNJTF as a one-of-a-kind effort to address security challenges in its operational planning environment that must not fail. The FC took advantage of the opportunity to pay a visit to the Nigerian mission in Addis Ababa and interact with them. The event went off without a hitch.

Zaidi Sanusi losing his pride With the Dragons

0

Zaidu Sanusi was praised for his incredible tackles and interceptions in 25 league appearances for Porto last season. He was regarded for his speed and ability in the final third, as well as his defensive abilities. Porto’s coach had to fend off threats from West Ham United and Fenerbahçe, a Turkish giant, to sell their prized possession. All of that could change after some basic errors by the Super Eagle, the most recent of which occurred in the Champions League on Tuesday against Liverpool when an error by him resulted in his team scoring the game’s first goal.

Porto fans have slammed Super Eagles star Zaidu Sanusi for his performance in Tuesday night’s 5-1 loss to Liverpool. Sanusi made his second start of the season as Porto welcomed the mighty Reds to the Estádio do Drago for their second Champions League group stage match of the campaign.

Sanusi made his first appearance of the season in the Champions League, keeping a clean sheet as Porto drew 0-0 with Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano.
On Tuesday, however, he had a difficult night as he struggled to keep up with Salah’s pace, and he was also partially to blame for the Egyptian’s first goal.

After Diogo Costa parried a shot into his path, the Nigerian international was unable to clear the ball. Sanusi could have done little about it on replay because Costa should’ve dealt with it properly, but his failure to notice allowed Salah to slot into an open net.
Apart from the goal, Sanusi also failed to deal with Salah’s threat before being replaced by Wendell in the 56th minute.

Porto fans took to Twitter after the game to express their displeasure with the team’s performance and some of the players, including the former Santa Clara player.

Sanusi was surprisingly rated as Porto’s joint-second best player on the night by Sky Sports.
Manager Sérgio Conceicao’s decision to start Sanusi was the biggest surprise in his starting lineup.
Despite starting Porto’s opening day match against Atlético Madrid and helping the Portuguese keep a clean sheet in 45 minutes of action, the Super Eagles’ left-back has not appeared in the Portuguese giants’ last five Liga Portugal Bwin matches.

Sanusi was rated as Porto’s joint-second best player by Sky Sports, who gave him a six out of ten along with Marcano, Vieira, and Vitinha, one less than winger Luis Diaz, who received a seven.
Conceicao made a tactical substitution 10 minutes into the second half, replacing the Nigerian with Wendell.
West Ham’s deadline-day bid for Sanusi fell through after the Hammers were unable to meet Porto’s asking price for the Nigerian international.

According to Record, the 24-year-contract old’s includes a £43 million release clause.
Last season, the 24-year-old averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, and one clearance per game in 25 league appearances for Porto.
The Nigerian is incredibly athletic, has a lot of speed, and can play in both the attacking and defensive thirds.

If he has a good few months between now and January, West Ham will be interested in signing him again.
The powerful and pacy left-back has named David Alaba, a Real Madrid fullback of Nigerian descent, as his idol, as well as admitting that Super Eagles legend Taye Taiwo has influenced his style of play.

“The left-back I most admire in the world is Bayern Munich’s David Alaba; many people have said that I play like him, but I prefer to be myself because I admire him so much.

I’m like Alaba in that I can defend and attack. Attacking and defending are difficult tasks for a left-back, but Alaba excels at both.

“I used to watch Taye Taiwo a long time ago, and now and then I took him up on YouTube to see how he plays,” Sanusi added.
After national team manager Gernot Rohr was alerted about Sanusi, who had set the Portuguese league on fire with his quick pace and scintillating darting runs on the flanks, Sanusi was invited to the Super Eagles for friendlies against Ivory Coast and Tunisia last year.
Rohr kept a close eye on Zaidu’s situation and was convinced he’d found his man at left back when Porto paid a record fee for the exciting left back.

The player’s rise from unknown to the competitive club and national team player was lightning fast, and he was quickly drafted into the Eagles lineup to challenge Jamilu Collins’ position.
Collins was immediately demoted to the bench, and he was only brought back in the double Cameroon friendlies in Austria when Sanusi was unavailable due to injury.
Sanusi grabbed his shirt with consummate ability and quickly won over the hearts of Eagles fans who had been dissatisfied with Eagles left back since the likes of Babayaro and Lawal hung their boots. Collins knew he had his hands full.

The Porto defender wasted no time in bringing his attacking-minded defensive skills to the Eagles’ left back position.
Rohr was overjoyed when he saw his dream man play against Algeria in a friendly in Austria on October 9, 2020.
Even though the Eagles were defeated by the odd goal in a tense game between the two arch-rivals, Zaidu did an excellent job on Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez.

Collins was confined to the substitutes’ bench for four more caps after his Algerian debut as the new bride took hold, and Collins would only return against Cameroon when his direct rival was ruled out due to injury.
Zaidu has been reduced to a fringe player due to a wicked combination of bad luck and a dip in form at Porto, which has also resulted in Porto fans calling for his head.

His transgressions were two errors that resulted in Porto conceding goals, and his punishment was the signing of Brazilian left-back Wendell from Bayer Leverkusen, relegating the exciting left-back to fourth place in the pecking order.
Collins’ ghosts were exhumed due to a lack of regular first-team club football, and the latter got back into the groove, meaning business and impressing Rohr and company.

While Sanusi was in the Porto wilderness, Collins had carved out a name for himself as Paderborn’s left-back, leading the charge, assisting, and even finding a rare chance to score as the relegated German side fought their way back up Germany’s football pyramid.

To make matters worse for Zaidu, his future at Porto is uncertain, as clubs are interested in luring him away from the club.
The most notable of his suitors was West Ham, who looked into the possibility of a loan move on the final day of the summer transfer window, delaying his arrival in Lagos for the Liberia game.

Collins proved Sanusi hasn’t completely shut him out by arriving a day before the game without spotting the West London side’s colors and ultimately refusing to dress for the Liberia game.
Collins could continue to do a good job in Sanusi’s absence if he misses out on a transfer that would end his Porto misery.

Sanusi will have to double down on his efforts to reclaim his first-team shirt at Porto or in any on-loan side going forward, as Collins does not appear to want to lose it again.
Sanusi was also on the verge of joining Turkish giants Fenerbache on loan, but the FC Porto coach thwarted the move.

Conceicao stated that Zaidu will continue to play an important role for his team, so he vetoed a transfer for the Nigerian defender.
Porto fans have also chastised the Kebbi-born ace for some recent underwhelming performances.

Force Commander pays a visit to the troops bases

Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim, the Force Commander (FC) of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), has reassured troops that their operational capabilities will be reinforced.

General Khalifah stated that they would be provided with equipment and other necessary materials in order to improve field surveillance and tactical maneuvering.

He also reminded them that operations are the true test of a troop’s fighting spirit and that it necessitates good training and physical abilities.

This was stated by General Khalifah as he continued his familiarization and operational tour of troop locations at the forwarding Operating Base, Mallam FATORI, and Headquarters 5 Brigade in Damasak, both in Sector 3.

General Khalifah congratulated the troops on their operational successes by dislodging terrorist camps and denying terrorists freedom of action within their areas of operations, according to Colonel Mohammed Dole, Chief of Military Public Information, Headquarters MNJTF, N’DJAMENA CHA.

The purpose of the visit was to obtain firsthand information and to learn about the current state of affairs in the field.

The Commander reaffirmed his warning to the troops about the dangers of misusing social media, which can be used by terrorists as a source of intelligence on the troops’ activities and movements.

He was, however, impressed by the troops’ exemplary discipline and commitment to fighting Boko Haram terrorists.

General Khalifah urged them to maintain a high level of alertness and caution in order to put an end to BHT/ISWAP terrorism.

General Khalifah also praised the conduct and content of the briefings he received, which covered both FOB Mallam Fatori and HQ 5 Brigade Damasak’s operational activities, achievements, and challenges.

According to the statement, these formations and units have won significant and progressive tactical victories against the BHT/ISWAP insurgents in previous encounters.

He claimed that this paved the way for IDPs and refugees to be resettled and relocated to their ancestral homes.

General Abdul Khalifah, who was accompanied by some HQ MNJTF Staff Officers and MNJTF Sector 3 Commander Brigadier General GM Mutkut, praised the conduct and content of the briefings he received, which covered operational activities, achievements, and challenges of both FOB Mallam Fatori and HQ 5 Brigade Damasak.

Several tactical victories against the BHT/ISWAP insurgents have been won by this formation and unit in previous encounters, paving the way for the resettlement and relocation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and refugees to their ancestral homes.

Alex Iwobi ruled out of Eagles clash with CAR

Alex Iwobi, a Super Eagles midfielder, will miss Nigeria’s two-leg World Cup qualifiers against the Central Africa Republic in Qatar in 2022.

The 24-year-old is one of Gernot Rohr’s five midfielders named for the games on October 7 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium and three days later in Douala, Cameroon.

The Everton star will not travel down for the game, according to Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr, due to a minor injury.

Injuries forced Oghenekaro Etebo, Wilfred Ndidi, and Kingsley Michael to miss the games against the Central Africa Republic.

“Iwobi will not be available for the game due to a minor issue,” Rohr explained.

Terem Moffi, a forward from Lorient, has been called up to replace Iwobi for the games.

Everton manager Rafa Benitez also revealed that the Nigerian is a major doubt for Saturday’s Premier League match against Manchester United due to a minor problem.’

The Toffees will be without Seamus Coleman, Fabian Delph, Richarlison, Andre Gomes, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the game, according to Benitez, who also stated that the quartet is improving “little by little” as they prepare to return to competitive action.

“Alex (Iwobi) has a little problem and I don’t know if he will be available for today (Saturday),” Benitez said at his pre-match press conference at USM Finch Farm on Friday.

Abdul Reveals Nigeria Weightlifting Federation’s Plans

Dr Ibrahim Abdul, the newly elected President of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF), has outlined his plans for the development of the sport over the next four years.

On Friday, Dr Abdul told reporters that the Federation would prioritize the welfare of athletes and coaches (officials and referees).

“The NWF will collaborate with military and paramilitary organizations to create employment opportunities for weightlifters,” he said.

“The new board wants to build on the efforts and achievements of the late Yahaya Mohammed, the former President of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation,” Abdul said. The Nigeria Weightlifting Federation won the most medals for the country at the 2019 African Games in Morocco. The current board of directors hopes to break the African Games record and compete in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Yahaya Bello’s Security Template Recommend by Kwara Leaders

Governors in Nigeria have been urged by prominent clerics, religious leaders, and eminent sons and daughters of the Ilorin Emirate in Kwara State to adopt the strategy used by Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State in combating insecurity in his state for the country as a whole.

This call came during a special prayer for the nation and a symposium against insecurity convened by religious leaders in Ilorin, Nigeria’s ancient capital.

The theme of the conference was “Rise Against Insecurity in Nigeria” (RAIN).
The prayer for the country, according to Dr. Mohammed Gambari of the University of Ilorin’s Department of Religious Studies, was part of the activities commemorating the country’s independence.

He stated that the fight could not be left solely in the hands of state governments or the federal government and that everyone must work together to free Nigeria from the grip of “aliens who have turned into blood-sucking demons.”

“Together, we must make Nigeria better for our unborn generations to live quality lives,” he adds.
“In this regard, we, sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate, want to single out the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for the strategy of involving all indigenes in the fight against insecurity, keeping youths busy with worthwhile jobs, and making the task of securing the state everybody’s business,” the Ilorin sons and daughters said. Other governors, particularly those in the north, should follow in his footsteps.

“We can play politics, but when it comes to the security of lives and property, we must rally behind those who are getting it right and learn from them so that we can improve our domains rather than engage in acts of sabotage.

Because Kogi State was created from the old Kwara State, we can proudly say that Bello is one of our beloved sons with whom we take great pride. Despite the fact that the state is bordered by ten states, there has been relative peace since the assumption of this young governor, calm enough to make it the safest state in the north, if not Nigeria.”

Dr. Hadi Mashood Atanda, Director, Academic Planning, Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, who spoke as a guest speaker, said that a leader like Gov. Bello should be given a chance to lead the country in 2023.
He claimed that in his current position, he had demonstrated his ability to lead Nigeria effectively.
He said it was no longer in anyone’s interest to stand by and watch as the blood was spilled on a daily basis in the name of terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of crime and criminality that had almost become the norm in Nigeria.

The religious leaders urged all Ilorin descendants, Kwarans, and Nigerians to unite against insecurity in the country and make criminals’ lives unbearable.
“In the interest of all Nigerians, we also call on politicians and governments at all levels to refrain from politicizing the issue of insecurity,” they added.

Chief Adebayo Salami, a top Nollywood actor and Ilorin native, spoke at the event and agreed with everything that had been said, adding that the program was necessary at this time due to rising insecurity.
He urged everyone to take up the fight against insecurity as a personal mission.
Imam Sulaiman Al-Gambari, the Imam Gambari of Ilorin, led the nation’s prayer.
