Government Can’t Stop Illegal Firearms, Buying Of Petrol – Notorious Terrorist, Turji

0

Bello Turji, a notorious terrorist, has stated that the government cannot prevent the circulation of illegal firearms or terrorists from purchasing gasoline for their operations.

It was recalled that in September 2021, restrictions were imposed in Zamfara State to reduce the activities of bandits in the state.

In an interview for the documentary “Nigeria’s Banditry: The Inside Story,” the notorious terrorist spoke with Trust TV.

Last year, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) ordered all telecommunications companies in the country to stop providing services to Zamfara and its environs.

Several raids in the state were reported to have killed many bandit leaders and their foot soldiers during the restriction.

“It is not right to deny Fulani entry into Shinkafi; it is a local government for all citizens,” Turji says. Where are the Fulani supposed to go if you deny them entry?”

He explained that if someone buys just a measure of maize, it is confiscated; if he or she buys a loaf of bread, they will say you are buying it for Turji, implying that Turji is the only one who eats.

He promised that those who failed to stop the flow of arms in Nigeria would not stop them from buying petrol, which even a small child knows where to get.

Australia, South Korea Advanced To Davis Cup Finals

Thanasi Kokkinakis, the Australian Open doubles champion, won a decisive singles rubber to help Australia advance to the next stage of the Davis Cup on Saturday, with South Korea defeating Austria to do the same.

Lleyton Hewitt’s Australians were tied 1-1 with Hungary on day two and facing an uphill battle after Fabian Marozsan and Mate Valkusz defeated John Peers and Luke Saville 6-4, 6-4 in the doubles.

To keep the match alive, world number 30 Alex de Minaur needed to beat Marton Fucsovics, who was ranked 35th, and he did so 7-6 (7/4), 6-4 in front of a boisterous crowd at Sydney’s Ken Rosewall Arena.

After winning his first ATP singles title in Adelaide this year and then winning the Australian Open doubles title with Nick Kyrgios, Kokkinakis was recalled to the Davis Cup team for the first time in seven years.

He repaid skipper Hewitt’s faith with a gutsy 6-4, 6-4 win over young Hungarian number two Zsombor Piros with the tie on the line.

“Thank you Lleyton for believing in me; it’s been a long time since I’ve played and to be able to play a fifth rubber at home is incredible,” he said.

“We have immense pride, immense passion, and one thing you can count on from the Australian Davis Cup team is that we will never give up,” De Minaur added.

Kwon Soon-woo, the 65th-ranked player in the world, led South Korea to victory with a hard-fought 7-5, 7-5 victory over Austria’s 143rd-ranked Dennis Novak in Seoul.

They were also tied 1-1 going into day two, with Nam Ji-sung and Song Min-kyu defeating Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler 6-4, 6-3 in doubles to give Kwon the platform he needed to close it out.
On Saturday, 12 Davis Cup ties will be decided, with the winners advancing to the finals, the first stage of which will be held in September at a yet-to-be-determined location with 16 teams.

Croatia, the United Kingdom, and Serbia have already qualified, with Davis Cup officials to decide next week who will replace defending champions Russia, who were dropped due to their involvement in the Ukraine invasion.

For the quarter-finals in November, the 16 will be reduced to eight.

Six-time champions Spain will go into their match against Romania in Marbella late Saturday with a 2-0 lead after Carlos Alcaraz, a teenager, and veteran Roberto Bautista Agut both won on day one.

In Pau, France took a 2-0 lead over Ecuador, and the Netherlands took a 2-0 lead over Canada in The Hague.

The United States, led by Taylor Fritz, and Argentina, led by Diego Schwartzman, have the same advantage in their matches against Colombia and the Czech Republic, respectively.

However, the other matches are all tied at 1-1, with world number three German Alexander Zverev facing Brazilian Thiago Monteiro in a crucial match in Rio.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was honored by the Northern Governors Forum on his 85th birthday.

In a statement released on Saturday, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor of Plateau State and Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, said that at 85, President Obasanjo continues to offer wise counsel to leaders at all levels and participate in national dialogue aimed at addressing insecurity, poverty, disease, and intolerance.

The Northern Governors Forum appreciates President Obasanjo’s fatherly counsel and personal interventions in finding lasting solutions to insecurity in Nigeria, particularly in the Northern Region, according to the statement, which describes him as a nationalist and passionate leader whose patriotism is paramount.

He added that the former President has never hidden his belief in Nigeria’s unity, oneness, and indivisibility, and has thus continued to encourage the younger generation to be positive and avoid actions that undermine national unity, peace, and development.

The statement wished him good health and God’s protection for many more years, and urged him to never stop speaking out for a better Nigeria.

Rivers Suffering From Governance Crisis — Dakuku Peterside

0

Dr. Dakuku Peterside, former Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), public affairs commentator, and 2015 APC governorship candidate in Rivers State, recently spoke with journalists about developments in the state and his party. CHARLES OKOH was present and provides the following excerpts:

Do you have evidence that Gov. Wike is pursuing the acquisition of Rivers State property for himself and his friends and cronies?

What other evidence do you require? Since then, the Rivers State government has admitted that it did indeed seize government property and criminally distribute it to those it described as competent private individuals. Now, an examination of the Rivers State government’s statement in response to my statement has revealed Gov Wike’s and his team’s criminal intentions. His response has sparked a lot of debate. What are the qualifications of these qualified private individuals, and how were they chosen? Who are the people who are deemed qualified? Did the Rivers State Government pre-qualify Rivers residents in any way before relocating those buildings? When and where did the procedure take place? The issue of transparency in the sale of public assets emerges as a major concern. What did they get for selling our common wealth to these select competent private individuals known only to Governor Wike? The Governor is only half-witted.
Everyone in Rivers State and beyond is aware of the governor’s land acquisitions. You may have heard about the “unknown investor” in Port Harcourt and Rivers State who is buying up everything in sight. You find out who this unknown investor is for yourself.

Is anyone in the Rivers State government the unknown investor, and is the same person in charge of the University of Education’s property acquisition?

These are two separate and distinct problems. You may have heard that the Governor has effectively acquired the University of Education staff quarters in Port Harcourt’s D-line neighborhood and plans to hand it over to his political allies. An unknown investor has purchased the Vice Chancellor’s lodge in Olu Obasanjo. A block of flats near GRA Port Harcourt that belonged to the same state university was also sold to an unknown investor. It’s complete madness, and the people appear powerless to stop it. The Governor will soon discover that the people of Rivers are not fools. We’re discussing common property, not his personal property. Everyone in Port Harcourt knows about the unknown investor.

The Governor, on the other hand, is doing well. He will commission the 10, 11, and 12th flyovers built by his administration at any moment.

This is a classic example of greed-driven misplaced priorities. At the expense of health care, education, pensioner allowances, job creation, rural development, and human capacity development, the government is building multiple flyovers on the same road. Bridges and flyovers are supposed to be catalysts for transportation ease, economic growth, and national competitiveness, as we all know. In the case of Rivers State, all indicators point to the contrary. In Rivers State, unemployment and poverty have reached new heights. All of the contracts are handled by one company, which is not based in the area, and there is no connection to the local economy. Two, all of the projects are concentrated in two local government areas (LGAs) in the state capital. Three, you are constructing bridges without conducting traffic studies, future projections, or budgetary planning. In Rivers State, there is a governance crisis.

Aside from infrastructure, the Governor recently stated that now that he has fulfilled his campaign promises, he will turn his attention to stomach infrastructure. What are your thoughts on this?

This is yet another example of the actor in charge of Rivers State’s hollowness and distorted understanding. The security and welfare of the people are the most important roles of government. The implication of his unguarded statement is that he did not value the welfare of the people of Rivers State for seven years. Now that he’s finished erecting bridges and impoverished the populace, he’s ready to enter politics. You’re telling them that you want to give them a small portion of their wealth to appease them and that they’re idiots. It’s election season, and you want them to support your presidential bid. Our people are more intelligent than that.

But the governor has never stated that he is interested in politics; how did you come to this conclusion?

True. He is consulting with people all over the place about his plans, and those people are exchanging information and comparing notes. Most importantly, there is inference to be drawn when his recent actions match the words being circulated. He paid a visit to most PDP governors in December and early January, and he has suddenly become an apostle of the presidency-must-go-to-the-south doctrine, donating N500 million in Rivers money to Bayelsa State, despite the fact that pensioners and some workers in his state are owed money. He suddenly discovered a plane that he had forgotten about for years because he needs it for his campaign. Wike is always going to be Wike.

Over 100,000 people were displaced recently in Port Harcourt’s Diobu waterfront area; you’ve been in contact with the Governor. What’s the current state of affairs?
You are correct. Wike claims that he is engaged in urban renewal. My position is that urban renewal can be carried out in accordance with international best practice while respecting the rights and dignity of those who live along the waterfront. Wike and his government evicted these people without considering the ramifications on society. They were not given adequate notice, compensation was not paid, and there were no plans in place to help them relocate. It’s in keeping with his unpredictability.

You have stated several times that the Governor has no plans for the youths, despite the fact that he has done so much for them, such as the Real Madrid Academy.

The Governor’s agenda does not include youth empowerment, and this has far-reaching consequences. In Rivers State, education has been abandoned. Look for a society that does not value education for the next generation if you want to see people who have no future. The Real Madrid Academy is a forgery. The Rivers State government will pay the Real Madrid Foundation and Interact Sports a yearly fee to use the Real Madrid brand name to operate a sports academy in Port Harcourt. Even more concerning is the fact that the Real Madrid Academy has been dormant for more than three years, with no activity taking place there. What’s the best way to explain that? That amount of money would have been enough to resurrect most of Rivers State’s dilapidated primary schools and provide students with world-class ICT facilities. Scholarships for about 200 Rivers undergraduates in European universities and 800 similar undergraduates in Nigerian universities are sufficient. Wike needs to stop teasing Rivers residents.

Because you want to run for Governor and your leader wants to run for President, the Rivers State government has accused you of attacking her on a regular basis. Is this a true statement?

I’m a Rivers man, and I’m as qualified to run as anyone else. Is this the reason Gov. Wike and his team want to take over the state of Rivers? Is this the reason they have no empathy for the poor, weak, and vulnerable? Does that explain the state’s poverty, unemployment, and mediocrity, which he promotes? The truth is that Wike is more concerned with his personal agenda, which is to amass vast sums of money, than with the tangible development of Rivers State. All of the issues I’ve brought up at various times are serious governance issues that a government that cares about the people’s interests will not overlook. The majority of the issues revolve around a lack of transparency and accountability, as well as the government’s lack of a clear vision and plan for Rivers State. Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi’s options are limited, whether he wants to run or not. Nigerians are looking to him for leadership at a critical juncture in our country’s history, when we require the vigor of youth, the clarity of vision, and a healthy dose of experience.

What would you say to those who believe that the presidency should be micro-zoned to the South East?

The South East has a valid case and a just cause, but it is insufficient. Micro zoning, on the other hand, has never been done in the United States. The closest we came was in 1999, when two candidates from the southwest ran for president as a political elite response to the events of June 12, 1993. The people of the South East will have to demonstrate that they want the job and have the resources to pursue it. Because micro zoning is not backed by the constitution, the south easterners must rely on the support of other Nigerians, which necessitates a great deal of politicking and horse-trading.

Your party, the APC, appears to be in disarray and out of touch with Nigerian reality. What are the party’s chances in the general election next year?

The APC remains the party to beat. It is now Nigeria’s only truly national party. True, we may not have solved all of Nigeria’s problems, but people should not forget where we came from in a hurry. In terms of form, content, and composition, the opposition party is inferior to the ruling APC. One rogue Governor currently controls the alternative party. The fringe parties have shown no commitment. Nigerians continue to prefer the APC to any other political party. The party has performed admirably in the areas of railways and infrastructure in general. When all issues are considered, I am optimistic that Nigerians will still want the APC to continue.

What would you say to those who believe your party has underperformed in terms of national security?

Security is subjective, and it is determined by the yardstick used to assess progress. Although we may not have gotten the desired results, a lot of work has been done, and there are results in the North East to back it up. Even in the most advanced societies, security is an area where continuous improvement is required. The security issues that have existed for many years cannot be resolved in four years. It’s still in the works. I am optimistic that another four years of APC rule will result in a peaceful Nigeria.

Russia And A Rush Of Rashes

You can never be sure with Vladimir Putin. But, as each day passes, with Russia remaining in Ukraine inexplicably, and the world responding with an unprecedented cyclone of condemnation and sanctions, it appears that the Kremlin has not considered the global response to its invasion of its smaller Eastern European neighbor.

Hundreds of civilians, including children, have been killed, and many more have been critically injured, according to the images. The Russians have shelled a number of Ukrainian public and residential buildings. The cost to the Ukrainian military has been similar, despite the country riding a wave of international support to resurrect a spirit of defiance long thought lost on ancient battlefields.

The toll is rising, and there is every reason to believe that by the end of the day, it will be enormous. However, one suspects that at the end of the day, a powerful message would have been sent, leaving war mongers like Vladimir Putin in no doubt that when war becomes so open, so destructive, the response will be bitter and biting.

Apart from the international outpouring of support and solidarity for Ukraine, countries, institutions, and individuals have taken actions that have grave ramifications in Russia. Many believe that, despite keeping a straight face, Russia is secretly counting the cost of its invasion of its neighbor, which will be compounded by the impending sanctions.

FIFA and UEFA have suspended the Russian national team and Russian clubs from competing in all FIFA and UEFA competitions until further notice. Some sporting organizations have scrambled to distance themselves from Moscow, while some individual athletes have spoken out against Vladimir Putin and his horde of Russian assailants in some of the harshest terms possible. Russia, long suspected of being the last vestige of the Soviet Union, is rapidly becoming a pariah state in front of their eyes.

Economic sanctions have been equally severe. Russia’s Central Bank has been cut off from dollar transactions by the US. The value of Russia’s currency, the ruble, has dropped to historic lows. With a slew of countries preparing to ratchet up the sanctions, Russia will undoubtedly find itself surrounded by alligators in no time. That is what it should be, save for a smidgeon of sympathy for Russians who oppose the war.

As the global order strives to ensure peace and prosperity for all citizens of the world, from Burundi to Burma, all those who sow discord and conflict must face the most severe penalties possible. They and others of their ilk must be treated as lepers as a deterrent. There can be no middle ground here.

The most vulnerable populations are subjected to unspeakable horrors as a result of war. While the invasion of Ukraine has sparked worldwide outrage, the response to similar situations must be universal and widespread. There can be no room for compromise.

For the world to return to a state of relative safety, all those who fan the flames of war around the world must be held accountable for their astounding stupidity. They must be forced to account for their actions, or at the very least live in the knowledge that anything they do that causes harm to innocent people anywhere in the world will be met with the harshest punishments possible.

This is, admittedly, a tall order for an international order that continues to oscillate between hot and cold at will. However, despite its vast energy riches and nuclear weapons, Russia has faced a wave of sanctions since its leaders’ monumental folly in sending the first armoured tank across its border with Ukraine.

Perhaps a rash of rashes will dissuade dictators who hide behind ostensibly democratic facades to treat other sovereign countries like scorpions.

The family of Bamise Ayanwole, a 21-year-old tailor, has raised the alarm over her alleged kidnapping by a Lagos Bus Services Limited driver.

Since February 25, 2022, when she boarded an LBSL bus, also known as a BRT, in the Chevron area of Lekki en route to Oshodi, her whereabouts have been unknown.

According to City Round, the Ekiti State native boarded the bus at 7:30 p.m. and became suspicious when the driver, who has yet to be identified, told her to sit in one of the back seats.

Bamise, who became uneasy, sent voice notes and a short clip to one of her friends, according to a source who did not want to be identified.

“The driver picked up two men and one woman on her way home.” This helped her relax a little. She then informed us that she would be landing at Oworonshoki. When we called her, we noticed something odd about the way she spoke. We tried to contact her again, but her phone was unreachable; we waited a while, assuming it was probably due to a low battery, only for her parents to contact us on Sunday to inform us that Bamise wasn’t home yet, and we’ve been at the Oshodi BRT Terminal 3 since then. We were instructed to sit and wait for the driver. The driver failed to appear, according to the source.

Bamise was heard telling a friend in Yoruba that the bus stopped to pick her up but did not pick up other passengers in a series of voice notes exchanges that were shared on social media.

She was said to have made a short video showing the silhouette of a driver and what appeared to be the vehicle number when she sensed danger.

The clip, which City Round obtained, also revealed that the bus was poorly lit.

Her mother was seen wailing in front of a bus with the number 240257 in one of the LBSL terminals, which was said to be the bus Bamise had boarded, in a video that went viral on social media.

“This is the vehicle in which Bamise sat. It’s been put in a parking spot. They claim they haven’t been able to locate the driver. Bamise got on the bus in Ajah and stated that she was going to Oshodi. The vehicle arrived at its destination, but the child was unable to return home. We haven’t been able to locate her. They must locate Bamise on my behalf. She bemoaned, “I didn’t tell her to go to Lagos to die.”

The missing lady’s older brother, James, told our correspondent on Friday that during her last phone conversation with her, Bamise was heard struggling with someone on the bus.

Since the 21-year-old went missing, James said the family has been having sleepless nights.

“The driver took to his heels,” he said. He is still on the loose as we speak. We discovered that he no longer resides in the location where he claimed to do so. It’s a kidnapping situation.

“We could have said it was a missing person case if the driver had been available.” She also got on the bus, and three people were picked up along the way. She didn’t answer the phone when she was called. She was heard struggling with a man when she picked up the phone, so this isn’t a case of a missing person. This (kidnapping) appears to be ongoing.

“As a result of my investigation, I discovered that the company lacks proper documentation for its drivers. We discovered that the driver had moved over a year ago from where he claimed to be living, and that his guarantor no longer lives where he claimed to be living. The corporation is attempting to push us aside and keep the story out of the press. Our parents are aware, but due to their age, we had to persuade them that everything is fine. But we’ve been having trouble sleeping.”

Caroline Oni, Bamise’s former mistress, said the family had been informed that LBSL drivers were not allowed to pick up passengers in the area after 6 p.m. because the buses were supposed to be returned empty to the terminal.

Police are on the lookout for the driver and have arrested the guarantor.
The police, on the other hand, said they were looking into a missing person case and that the suspect’s guarantor had been arrested.

“The investigation has been handed over to the state CID. We’re looking into the situation. We have the driver’s guarantor in custody, and he is assisting us with our investigation. We’re working on it. DSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the Police Public Relations Officer, said, “We will continue to update you.”

When contacted, Afolabi Olawale, the Lagos Bus Services Limited’s Public Affairs Officer, said the company would wait for the results of the police investigation before stating its position.

“Right now, it’s being handled by the police and the Department of State Services,” Olawale said.

“Only the police will answer that question,” he said when our correspondent asked if he could confirm whether the suspect was an LBSL employee.

Ukraine: United States, NATO Must Be Held Accountable

We’ve been fed the same diet every day for weeks, from CNN to BBC to Al Jazeera. We’re at risk of falling prey to intellectual kwashiorkor. As a result, some of us have to scream!

This is not a defense of President Vladimir Putin, who is a ruthless dictator. Fascism, communism, Nazism, militarism, sit-tightism, and all forms of tyranny are all unacceptable to me. Putin is the personification of authoritarianism. The Westminster model of democracy appeals to me. The presidential system of government in the United States is fascinating. I am a Westerner when it comes to the rule of law, freedom, and the right to dissent (the US). I oppose China’s and Russia’s strangulating, despotic governments. They are an open wound in our humanity. North Korea’s Kim Dynasty must fall. Everything must be done to destabilize autocracies around the world. The international community must stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Myanmar (Burma), Chad, Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, and other countries, taking all legitimate measures, including the use of force, to remove unconstitutional governments and power usurpers.

Joe Biden: NATO must be disbanded immediately, and the US must accept a bipolar world.

I, on the other hand, reject the month-long mobilization of mass hysteria against Russia via the cable news network (CNN), the British Broadcasting Corporation, and Al Jazeera. I’m not going to be hypnotized. The Ukraine crisis (now a full-fledged war) is a tragedy that has claimed over 14,000 lives. The blame for the deadly unrest falls squarely on Washington’s shoulders. The United States, through the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), is secretly obsessed with the goal of becoming the world’s sole superpower. The American establishment despises the concept of ‘balance of power.’ The European Union, the United Kingdom, and other NATO allies are merely pawns on America’s power chessboard. The United States is neurotically opposed to a bipolar world. It will dispense with the services of its so-called allies after achieving the unipolar world of its dreams. Isn’t it true that America recently stabbed France in the back by undercutting it with the Australia-UK-US pact on nuclear-powered submarines in Australia? The uppercut delivered by Washington to Paris was so severe that France was forced to recall its ambassador to the US! It appears surreal; it appears impossible! “Yes, you’re expendable; you’re our ally only on our terms,” the US message to France reads.

Before it’s too late, European member states must open their eyes. Remember ex-UK Prime Minister Tony Blair’s famous statement: “I will be with you, whatever!” Yes, the United Kingdom, France, and others accompanied then-President George W. Bush around blindfolded. By the time President Joe Biden withdrew American troops from Afghanistan, he couldn’t recall a single ally with whom he could consult!

I demand an immediate cease-fire in Ukraine while the United States and its allies, as well as Russia, return to the negotiating table. The war must come to an end as soon as possible. There is no such thing as a justified war.

What is NATO’s purpose now that the Warsaw Pact has disbanded? After the fall of communism, the disintegration of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), and the fall of the Berlin Wall, NATO should have disbanded. If there are no ulterior motives, how can you have military bases all over the world? The United States once considered establishing a new military base in the Gulf of Guinea, in Nigeria’s backyard. This writer reacted to it in a vehement article.

In the current standoff with the West (the United States), we must align with Russia in order to maintain a bipolar world with power balance. Personally, I don’t want to look back from my grave and see my children and grandchildren enslaved by political, legal, and economic chains. I don’t want to see them at the mercy of strangers or subjected to the whims and caprices of their peers in faraway Washington, D.C. I’m not sure any leader worth his salt in Russia, China, Nigeria, or France would allow his country to be surrounded by annihilation machinery without a proper and proportionate response. Since the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact, the US has been moving military machinery to Eastern Europe via NATO enlargement, ostensibly to encircle another superpower, Russia. As a result, Russia is retaliating. The only regret is that this conflict is not being fought on a diplomatic level, but rather through bloodshed, which is clearly unacceptable. There is no such thing as a justified war. There would have been no war in Georgia or Ukraine if the US had abandoned its nefarious plan to encircle or surround Russia militarily in order to emerge as the sole superpower.

NATO should be dismantled as soon as possible by the United Kingdom and the European Union. Otherwise, Europe risks becoming a battleground in a conflict between the United States and Russia, either now or in the future.

In 1989, the world’s communist torchbearer reversed course and renounced a dogma that had polarized the world. The establishment and ultra-nationalists in the United States were ecstatic. “We should abandon the ideological dogmatism that became ingrained during the past decades,” President Mikhail Gorbachev declared in front of a stunned world in February 1990, and followed up the “sacrilege” with an elaborate visit to the United States, where he declared, “The Cold War is now behind us.” Let’s not argue about who won.” That submission, it appears, led the Soviet President to delude himself. There had been victories and defeats in the war. The United States wasted no time in announcing a new empire and a new world order. NATO must reap the full spoils of war through expansion and occupation of the ‘defeated territories’ in Eastern Europe; in fact, a unified Germany must be a member of NATO; and a US-controlled NATO must reap the full spoils of war through expansion and occupation of the ‘defeated territories’ in Eastern Europe. In order to realize its dream of a unipolar world, the US continued to massage the egos of Gorbachev, Boris Yeltsin, and their successors while pushing the death machine to their doorstep under various guises.

This is not a defense of President Vladimir Putin, who is a ruthless dictator. Fascism, communism, Nazism, militarism, sit-tightism, and all forms of tyranny are all unacceptable to me.

The American establishment is terrified of an unrestrained Russia. Russia may have lost the ideological battle of communism to US capitalism, but it is not yet drowned militarily, with long-range nuclear missile arsenals, air and sea-launched cruise missiles, intercontinental ballistic missiles with chemical weapons not yet fully dismantled, and a host of weather-beaten Cold War generals still in the force. Of course, America is not in a hurry to contain its former arch foe – communism took more than five decades to defeat – but the process of establishing the American Empire must be accelerated under various guises (a process which the US no less regards as supremely adroit). Russia can see through the deception and camouflage, as evidenced by his counter-actions, which have alarmed the US and will almost certainly force the CIA, Pentagon, and military-industrial complex to rethink their strategies. Russia’s counter-offensive in Georgia must be viewed as an effective retaliation to US maneuvering in countries close to its borders. It’s the exact same scenario that’s unfolding in Ukraine. In international law, preemptive strikes are legal. Territory A can take proportionate pre-emptive strikes against Territory B if there is tangible evidence that Territory C will eventually use Territory B to launch an attack on Territory A or compromise its security.

There would have been no war in Georgia or Ukraine if the US had abandoned its nefarious plan to encircle or surround Russia militarily in order to emerge as the sole superpower.

Americans claim to be lovers of liberty, but they have denied it to others. It asserts that Ukraine is a sovereign state free to choose its own path, including joining NATO. Why is the US fighting Iran, a sovereign country, because it has chosen a path that suits it by developing (potential) nuclear weapons?

It is fortunate that the vast majority of Americans do not believe in their ultra-nationalist leaders’ unipolar agenda. The United States must give up its expansionist ambitions and dream of becoming the world’s sole superpower. Starting with the two superpowers, the United States and Russia must lead the campaign to rid the world of nuclear weapons completely. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) must be disbanded immediately, and Russia must withdraw from Ukraine without delay – the war must come to an end immediately. NATO should be dismantled as soon as possible by the United Kingdom and the European Union. Otherwise, Europe risks becoming the battleground in a feud between the United States and Russia, and Europe will be the loser – the United States being thousands of miles away from the front lines. I demand an immediate cease-fire in Ukraine while the United States and its allies, as well as Russia, return to the negotiating table. There is no such thing as a justified war.

IBEDC Assures, Apologizes For Blackout In Osogbo, We Are Working To Restore Power Supply

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has explained why Osogbo, the state capital of Osun, was completely blacked out for 48 hours.

Residents of the capital city have been without power since Wednesday evening, March 2, 2022, when the city was hit by heavy rain and strong winds.

The blackout was caused by a faulty breaker at Osogbo Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Osogbo, according to a notice of power outage signed by Osun Region on Friday, March 4, 2022 and obtained.

The IBEDC fault, which affected the Akeju, Wonderful, GRA, Gbongan-Ibadan road, Dada Prime, OSBC leg, and Ayepe 11Kv feeders, caused power outages in the communities.

Osogbo township, Agunbelewo, Ogo-Oluwa, GRA, Baruwa, Old Garage, Ijetu, Ago Ayo, Ita-Olokan, Isale Osun, Akindeko, Coker, Egbeda, Odi-Olowo, Dada, Adetunji, and Tiwadayo Estates, Fagbewesa, Aratunmi, and environ

While expressing regret for the inconvenience, IBEDC stated that its technical team was working to restore power.

In March, the IBEDC warned that the regions of Ogun, Oyo, Ibadan, Osun, and Kwara would experience prolonged power outages.

This, it was learned, was due to low generation and power allocation by the Transmission Company of Nigeria to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC’s network (TCN).

TCN allocates 692.5MW of power to the IBEDC on a weekly basis, according to information obtained.

Saraki told To Beg Kano PDP Chair Kwankwaso Not To Leave

Shehu Sagagi, the Peoples Democratic Party’s Kano State Chairman, has advised the party’s leadership to do everything in their power to persuade ex-Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso not to defect.

Given Kwankwaso’s “strong political structure,” Sagagu believes his departure from the PDP at this time would spell doom for the party.

“I am advising the PDP to have a dialogue with Kwankwaso because allowing him to defect will not augur well for the PDP as a whole,” Sagagu said.

The Kano State PDP chair spoke on Thursday during a visit to Kano by the presidential campaign team of Bukola Saraki, a former Senate President and PDP chieftain.

Prof Iyorwuese Hagber, Director of the Bukola Saraki Presidential Campaign Directorate, led the team.

Meanwhile, speaking to journalists in Jigawa State on Friday, Hagber claimed that the lives of Nigerians had deteriorated under the APC’s rule.

He attributed the formation of the APC government in 2015 to internal wrangling in the PDP at the time.
“The PDP’s weaknesses, internal wrangling, and misunderstandings among our top nurtures opened doors for the APC to come to power, and we are paying a high price for it today,” he said.

He claimed that the PDP was now prepared and determined to put aside its differences and retake power from the ruling APC within the next year.

“We have a President in Bukola Saraki who cares about education, who believes in justice and fairness in government.”

“If the PDP had not broken its ranks and allowed internal problems to plague it, the APC would not have come to power.” That’s why I’m urging all other presidential candidates to back Saraki.

“Absolutely, when the APC took power, they had no plan to run the country.” That is why no one is safe, and no one is celebrating Nigeria because it is now the poorest country on the planet,” he explained.

Meanwhile, a lobbying group supporting Saraki for President in 2023 claimed on Friday that Katsina State was plagued by insecurity and unschooled children.

This was despite the fact that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd. ), hails from a state where his party, the APC, is also in power.

This was announced in Katsina during a meeting with delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party by the Saraki Contact and Advocacy Council, which was led by Hagher, a former Minister of State for Power and Steel.

Hagher, speaking to delegates at the PDP Secretariat in Katsina, promised that Saraki, as president of Nigeria, would “wipe away the sorrows and pains of the people of Katsina State that the APC has subjected them to.”

He urged PDP delegates to ensure that the former Senate President was chosen as the party’s presidential candidate in 2023.

“Bukola Saraki is a continuation of late President Yar’adua,” he said. Because Nigerians have suffered so much, we need someone with courage. Because your future is in jeopardy, Katsina State has suffered more than most other states in the country.

“Loans have been taken that will be paid by your great-grandchildren, but these children are not in school.” When the APC is in power, Katsina State has the second-highest number of children out of school in Nigeria. “What are they doing?” you might wonder.

At Least 58 People Killed In Suicide Bombing At Shi’ite Mosque In Pakistan

According to hospital officials, a suicide bombing at a Shi’ite Muslim mosque during Friday prayers in Peshawar, Pakistan, killed at least 58 people and injured nearly 200 others.

In a statement, Islamic State claimed responsibility for the bombing, making it one of the group’s most significant attacks inside Pakistan.

When police stopped an armed man on a motorcycle near the mosque, he opened fire before forcing his way into a crowded hall and detonating his suicide vest, according to senior police official Haroon Rasheed.
According to him, the attacker opened fire on the police guards stationed at the mosque’s entrance, killing one of them. “The armed man entered the mosque and began shooting at worshippers before blowing himself up,” Rasheed continued.

Police had previously stated that the motorcycle was being driven by two men.

The attack is one of the deadliest in recent years against Pakistan’s Shia minority, which has long been targeted by Sunni Muslim Islamist militants such as Islamic State and the Pakistani Taliban.

In a message to Reuters, the Pakistani Taliban distanced themselves from the attack.

Officials at the nearby Lady Reading Hospital updated the previous toll, saying that many of the injured were in critical condition.
Sardar Hussain, whose three relatives were killed in the blast, said the mosque was the Shi’ite community’s only place of worship in Peshawar’s old city.

Until the military launched a crackdown on militants in 2014, Islamist insurgent attacks had become almost daily occurrences in Pakistan.

Worshippers had gathered at the mosque in Peshawar for Friday prayers, which are usually the busiest.

“When the firing began, panic spread among the worshippers. At a hospital where he was being treated for his injuries, one man, who did not want to be identified, told Reuters, “I ran to save my life.”

“All of a sudden, a man entered and began firing… He shot a lot of people before closing his eyes and blowing himself up. “I have no idea what happened after that,” he said.
Pakistan has recently resumed hosting international teams after moving many of their high-profile international events to the United Arab Emirates due to security concerns.

Following the blast, Australian cricket coach Andrew McDonald stated that the team will be accompanied by security experts while touring Pakistan.
