Ukraine firepower kills 13,500 Russian troops, destroy war tanks

According to defense experts, Vladimir Putin may only have ten days to win the conflict in Ukraine before his forces crumble.

When the Russian despot launched the invasion on February 23, he expected a fast triumph, but his men were met with ferocious resistance, with 150 Kremlin troops slain overnight in Mariupol.

Russian pilots have been shot out of the sky, tanks have been ambushed, and soldiers have been shown on film sobbing after surrendering to the Ukrainians.

Ukraine claims to have killed 13,500 Russian troops and damaged a huge amount of military hardware.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine said overnight that the conflict had destroyed “hundreds” of Russian helicopters and tanks.

At least 12 top commanders, including three generals, have been slain, with the most recent being a top spy commander.

Russia’s game may be up soon, according to a senior UK defence source and a former commander of US forces.

“Russia is fleeing Ukraine,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“It’s running out of resources, both labor and energy.” They have ten to fourteen days before they reach their climax if we keep pressuring.

“At that point, Ukraine’s defense force should be stronger than Russia’s attacking force.”

Two Akwa Ibom commissioners resign, cite political ambition

The cabinet of Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel has been depleted after two commissioners resigned on the same day, March 14, 2022.

Mr. Akan Okon, who served as commissioner of Economic Development and the Ibom Deep Sea Port, and Pastor Sunny Ibuot, who served as commissioner of Labor and Manpower Development, are the two commissioners.

In his resignation letter, Akan Okon thanked Emmanuel for the honor and privilege of serving the state, adding that he would be eternally grateful to God and the governor for the opportunity.

He explained that he had no choice but to resign from the state Exco in order to focus on his governorship ambitions.

He went on to say that he was looking forward to serving as governor of the state in 2023, stressing that there was a season for everything, as the Bible says.

“I am convinced that now is the best time for me to take a leave of absence in order to focus on my Governorship campaign in 2023,” he said.

The former commissioner, on the other hand, expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their support and encouragement, which he said had motivated him to complete all of the tasks and assignments that had been assigned to him.

He said the support was particularly evident in relation to the proposed three gateways (Land, Air, and Sea) for the rapid development of Akwa Ibom and the creation of job opportunities for the state’s teeming unemployed youths.

Pastor Sunny Ibuot expressed gratitude to Emmanuel for allowing him to serve in various capacities.

“It’s been a tremendous honor to be appointed,” he said. First, he served as the Secretary of the Technical Committee on Agriculture and Food Security. Later in your administration, you served as Hon. Special Adviser, Political/ Legislative Affairs and Water Resources, and then as Hon. Commissioner in the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council.

I have endeavored and actively served to the best of my ability and potential for the duration of this period, with milestones on the sands of time.”

Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was allegedly tortured while being transferred from Kenya to Nigeria in June 2021, according to his brother, Emmanuel ‘Meme’ Kanu.

Interpol arrested Kanu in Kenya under dubious circumstances and extradited him to Nigeria, where he is currently on trial for treason. Kenyan High Commissioner Wilfred Machage (now late) stated that Kenyan authorities were not involved in Kanu’s detention and challenged anyone to show evidence to the contrary.

He has been arraigned several times at the Federal High Court in Abuja since June 2021, with his next trial date set for April.

“Today he (Nnamdi Kanu) said things I never knew he passed through,” Emmanuel said on his well-known Facebook page after a routine visit to Nnamdi Kanu. Do you know that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu traveled from Kenya to Nigeria blindfolded for nearly 5 hours? Do you know that upon his arrival at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, he was blindfolded for two days before being taken to court by the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA), and that he remained blindfolded while in court? Do you know that he was handcuffed and his two legs were chained for the duration of his flight, to the point where blood wasn’t flowing?

“Did you know that while he was being transported to the NIA detention facility, an assault rifle was pointed at the back of his head?” In all of this, he has remained steadfast and focused solely on our freedom. “The leader of the IPOB must be free.”

Buhari Inaugurates 80 Housing Units In Kaduna

In Kaduna, President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday inaugurated 80 housing units built under the National Housing Programme.

The President, who was represented by Dr Muhammad Abubakar, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, said the housing estate was part of the change his administration promised Nigerians.

He stated that the government remained committed to reaching every Nigerian, regardless of social status, through its infrastructure development agenda.

Infrastructure development, according to Buhari, is the most effective way to boost micro, small, and medium-scale businesses, as well as the economy.

“In the process, ordinary Nigerians at the bottom of the pyramid were not left out of this economic value chain, such as artisans, builders, skilled and unskilled workers, and food vendors.”

“These are some of the people with whom our country is still working to lift them out of poverty and into prosperity.

“We’ve already reached them by providing job opportunities for those who were previously unemployed.”

“We will not be able to meet every single one of those Nigerians in person,” he said, “but our economic policies and infrastructure investments, such as this National Housing Programme and others, will reach and positively impact many of them.”

Buhari went on to say that the housing program was started to make it easier for those who had long wished to own a home to do so.

Mr Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Works and Housing, said the Federal Government had built similar houses in 34 states.

JAMB Registers 1.1m Candidates, Remits N600m CBT Centre Charges

As of March 12, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) reported that 1,121,123 candidates had registered for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The board made the announcement in its Weekly Bulletin, which was released yesterday in Abuja by its Head of Media and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

It stated that registration for the UTME and Direct Entry (DE), which began on February 19, will end on March 26 if no extension is granted.

JAMB also stated that it had paid a total of N600 million derived from the regulated N700 registration fee to accredited Computer-Based Tests (CBT) centers.

“JAMB had so far remitted over N600 million in service charges to respective centers, in line with the board’s cashless policy, which represents the total number of candidates multiplied by N700,” the statement said. However, JAMB-owned CBT centers are not included in this payment.

“In the first week of registration, N104,899,300 was paid; in the second week, N251,730,500 was paid; and in the third week, N332,150,700 was paid.”

“Over N600 million in centre charges had been paid to the CBT centers cumulatively.”

JAMB has also urged parents (particularly the elite), guardians, and school proprietors to allow candidates to register for the board’s UTME/DE on their own in order to facilitate the smooth processing of profile codes and address the incessant reports of candidates being assigned programmes other than their preferred choices.

According to the statement, the cashless policy was implemented to curb the excesses of some fraudulent CBT centers looking to take advantage of unsuspecting candidates.
