Dayo Israel, the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Lagos State residents to support Governor Babajide Sanwo-bid Olu’s for reelection in order to recognize his outstanding work since his election in 2019.
Israel, a former member of the State’s Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and a resident of Lagos, made the appeal during his statewide door-to-door voter registration drive on Saturday, March 18.
The national youth leader who covered Badagry, Amuwo Odofin, Mushin, Alimosho, and Festac, among other communities, used the opportunity to reel off community-specific interventions and projects of the Lagos State government under the direction of Governor Sanwo-Olu as part of the engagement, which entails direct conversations with voters and visits to community hubs.
The Sanwo-Olu administration launched and completed several major projects, including educational infrastructure such as classrooms and other amenities in St. Joseph Secondary School, Ajumoni Grammar School, Oduduwa Junior Secondary School, and other nearby institutions, at Ilasamaja, where Israel’s entourage of local mobilizers and community influencers stopped for his campaign.
He declared: “Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has demonstrated his commitment to a Greater Lagos with outstanding cross-sectoral achievements that have aided Lagos in maintaining its lead as one of the largest economies in Africa and the top choice for domestic and foreign investment.
“Our children are receiving the best education possible in government-run institutions, public employees are working at previously unheard-of levels of productivity, and locals can move around and go about their daily lives more easily. This is due to the administration’s dedication to making significant progress in enhancing Lagos’s mobility options and facilitating access to credit through organizations and programs like the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund.
“I appeal to the people of Lagos to re-elect Governor Sanwoolu on Saturday to carry on the many good works he has started in order to send a strong message that hard work and excellent performance matter.”
Following his successful nationwide mobilization for the APC and President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the recently concluded presidential election, Israel launched a grassroots campaign for Governor Sanwoolu’s reelection.
His leadership of the party’s youth wing has received praise for his work, and the party’s leadership has unanimously agreed that his emergence has revitalized the party’s youth base. This achievement is anticipated to help the APC perform well in the upcoming state elections across the nation on Saturday.
