Yul Edochie loses first son, Kambilichukwu

According to reports, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie lost his first child, Kambilichukwu Edochie, to the cold, cruel hands of death.
Kambilichukwu reportedly lost consciousness and was taken to the clinic for treatment, but all attempts by the doctors to revive him proved unsuccessful.

Reports state that Yul has already acknowledged his son’s tragic passing.

The boy reportedly had a seizure while playing football with classmates at school and was taken urgently to the Mother and Child Hospital. He unfortunately didn’t make it.

According to rumors, Kambilichukwu is Yul and his wife May’s first son and second child. The young person recently celebrated his 15th birthday, and his parents did so in front of the public.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has come under fire after a tip-off that some errant politicians are plotting the establishment of an interim administration.
Recall that the DSS claimed in a statement on Wednesday that it had identified people who intended to prevent Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, from being sworn in and to compel an interim government.

According to the agency, the plan to impose an interim government is to ignore the constitution and threaten the country’s civil order, which would cause an avoidable crisis.

According to the report, the individuals want to prevent the May 29 inauguration of the new administration by funding large-scale violent protests and obtaining pointless court injunctions.

The DSS, however, vowed that it would cooperate with all pertinent institutions, people, and groups to make sure that the inauguration went as smoothly and effectively as President Muhammadu Buhari had promised.

Following the completion of a family tree DNA test, the couple revealed that they came to the conclusion that they are related.

When Celina Quinones made the decision to investigate her family tree, she and her husband, Joseph Quinones, had been together for seventeen years and had been married for more than ten years.

In the course of her investigation, she found out that Joseph was her cousin.
She divulged the information about how the couple discovered that they were more than just man and wife through a TikTok post that she published under the handle @realestatemommas.

She wrote, “In 2006, my husband and I got married.” Without giving it much thought, we ended up having three children. It turned out that we were related and were actually cousins.

After that, Celina urged other couples to investigate their family histories.

The video clip quickly gained over four million views after going viral, and many viewers have expressed disapproval of the couple’s decision to remain married while suggesting that they should end their relationship.

She said it was “devastating” when she found out her husband was actually also her cousin, but she claims that their love is stronger than ever and that she has ignored negative comments suggesting that they divorce.

In her letter, she stated, “It wasn’t until three kids in that I realized we were related.” I took my DNA test in 2016, if memory serves, and the results were devastating. I remember asking my boyfriend, “babe, if we’re related, are we even supposed to be together?” This is very strange. It gave me the creeps in a big way.

39 passengers lost their lives in car accidents in Niger, Bauchi, Kebbi

On Monday, a fatal car accident occurred on the Bida-Mokwa Road in the Niger State, claiming the lives of no less than 24 people.

Four people died in an auto accident on Monday, bringing tragedy to the Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
On Bunza/Maidahini Road in the Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State, a car accident claimed the lives of 11 people and injured three others.

Etsu-Woro village in the state’s Lavun Local Government Area is where the accident in Niger State happened at 10:10 p.m.
Approximately 87 passengers were believed to be riding on the luxury bus that was involved in the collision as they made their way from Zaria to Lagos, according to reports.

The incident was confirmed to journalists in Minna yesterday by the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Kumar Tsukwan, who said his men arrived at the scene eight minutes after learning of the accident.

“It was a single accident,” he said, adding that the truck was hauling 84 people and goods. Six women and seven children made up the remaining 74 victims, which included 74 men. Ten people survived without any injuries, compared to 45 who received injuries, including 39 men, three women, and three children.

According to him, the bodies were also taken to the mortuary at the Kutigi hospital while the victims were immediately taken to the general hospital for quick medical attention.

Five additional people suffered serious injuries in the crash in Bauchi State, according to Mr. Yusuf Abdullahi, Sector Commander, FRSC, in that state. In the sole incident, he claimed, there were nine passengers riding in a green commercial Ford Galaxy.

“Nine people, eight of whom were adult males and one adult female, were involved in the crash,” he said. Five people, including four male adults and one female adult, were injured, while four male adults and four male adults lost their lives immediately.

The accident, according to Abdullahi, happened at 10.30 a.m. and was caused by a burst tire and a loss of control. According to him, it only took the corps about 15 minutes to get to the crash site and clear it.

According to the sector commander, the bodies of the deceased and the injured were both transported for confirmation and treatment to the General Hospital, Dass.

He gave drivers the sage advice to always be aware of the laws governing traffic when they are on the road.

The group also argued that a number of irregularities rendered the presidential election of February 25, 2023, inadmissible.

This was stated in a statement released after the Afenifere meeting on Tuesday, which was held at Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the group’s leader, residence in Isanya Ogbo, Ogun State.

Chief Sola Ebiseni, the association’s national secretary general, issued a statement from Akure, the state’s capital, making the call.

The group that insisted Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate for president, had won the previous election said it still adhered to that claim.

Parts of the communiqué stated: “We support Peter Obi’s decision to contest the INEC’s contrary declaration because the results of the legal votes cast in the presidential election are clear that he won the election, as confirmed by credible sources available to the Afenifere.

“We reiterate that the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s next president must come from the country’s southern region, more specifically the South-East, for equity, fairness, national cohesion, and peaceful corporate existence.”

For the Imo governorship race, the Labour Party (LP) has announced a decrease in the cost of the party’s nomination form fee.
The cost has been reduced from N25 million to N15 million, according to Peter Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council spokesman Kenneth Okonkwo, who confirmed it in a string of tweets on Tuesday.

Okonkwo earlier addressed rumors that the party would set its governorship nomination form fee at N25 million on Monday.
He asserted that the rumors are untrue and go against the party’s principles.

According to Naija News, there have been conflicting reactions to the Labour Party’s decision to price its governorship application for Imo state at N25 million.

However, Okonkwo assured the public that the Labour Party wouldn’t take that course of action on Monday by posting on his Twitter account.

The actor-turned-politician claimed that the alleged N25m was extravagant and would not encourage the development of a new Nigeria.

A competent leadership is preferable to encouraging swindlers to seize power, he continued, so the party would come up with a nomination fee that would be acceptable to the Nigerian people.

He acknowledged in a statement on Tuesday that the fee had been reduced.

The Party has decided to review the cost of nomination forms downwards for all positions taking into consideration the suggested price reduction, he wrote. “After due consultation with all the relevant stakeholders in the Party, and taking into consideration the overwhelming interest of Nigerians in our Party, and the necessity to birth a new Nigeria, and in view of the prevailing high cost of things in Nigeria, in line with our avowed disposition to carry Nigerians along in what we do, the Party has decided to review the cost of nomination forms downwards

To save our nation from the inept and dishonest leadership of the previous regime, we must work together.

The party’s governorship primary elections are scheduled to take place the following month, and 13 candidates have already obtained Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms.

Senate extends implementation of 2022 budget until June 2023

The Senate has extended the capital component of the 2022 budget’s implementation from March 31 to June 30, 2023.
The extension came in response to President Muhammadu Buhari’s request that the Senate amend the time for implementation of the capital component of the 2022 Appropriation Act, which was moved at plenary by Senate Leader Senator Ibrahim Gobir (APC – Sokoto East).
The Upper Chamber suspended relevant standing rules in order to read the Bill a first, second, and third time.

Gobir explained that the extension will allow the government to complete ongoing projects critical to the current administration as well as implement key projects in the capital component of the 2022 budget.

Breaaking: Cash difficulty: NLC, TUC extend strike ultimatum by two weeks

Following consultations with their respective affiliate unions regarding the cash crunch policy, the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have decided to extend their strike ultimatum that they had previously issued to the federal government for two additional weeks.

On Tuesday, following a discussion with the members of the National Executive Council, the decision was shared with the public.

You may recall that the NLC had issued an ultimatum threatening to go on strike beginning from Wednesday, nationwide. As part of this threat, the NLC had planned to picket the various branches of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

It is, however, unclear whether a meeting between the leadership of the NLC and CBN that was called for by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, was the impetus behind the decision to extend the ultimatum for an additional two weeks.

The President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, had admitted that the cash crunch situation had significantly improved, but that they needed to monitor the compliance of cash disbursement through the commercial banks for two more weeks. Festus Osifo, the president of the TUC, echoed Ajaero’s sentiments when he said that there was a need to benchmark the government. He was speaking not only about the shortage of cash, but also about the difficulties associated with fuel products and never-ending queues, as well as the price of electricity.

According to Osifo, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) made a mistake when they allowed the confidence of the people in their monetary policy to be eroded; as a result, the CBN needs to restore the confidence of the people within the grace period of two weeks.

On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari cut the ribbon on the first oil drilling operation at the Ebenyi-A Exploration Well. The well is located in the Middle Benue Trough in the Obi Local Government Area of the Nasarawa State.

In his speech during the well’s “virtual spud-in ceremony,” Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari admonished the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPCL) and its partners to take appropriate precautions regarding the environmental effects of oil exploration activities and to take steps to mitigate the adverse effects.
It is important to remember that Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State and Malam Mele Kyari, Group CEO of NNPCL, were among the individuals who performed the spud-in ceremony on behalf of President Buhari.
In addition to these notable figures, other dignitaries such as Mr. Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), retired Justice Bage Muhammad, Emir of Lafia, and various royal fathers were present.

The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, stated that the recent oil find was in line with ongoing campaigns for the exploration of crude oil and gas in the country’s Frontier Basins.
“The event that we are celebrating today is significant because it marks the official beginning of exploration drilling activities in the Middle Benue Trough.

“This is consistent with the commercial discoveries of hydrocarbons in the Kolmani Area of the Upper Benue Trough,” the researcher said. “This is consistent with the findings.”

“I am pleased to note that activities are currently underway to develop the Kolmani petroleum discoveries into commercial production in order to add to the substantial hydro-carbon assets held by the nation.

“I am encouraged by the enormous work done by NNPC Limited to exploit the prospects in the Middle Benue Trough, leading to the event of today,” he said. “I am encouraged by the enormous work done by NNPC Limited to exploit the prospects in the Middle Benue Trough.”

The President extended his gratitude to the NNPCL, the NUPRC, and all of the other partners for the significant contributions they made to ensuring the success of the exploration.

He also expressed his pleasure with the positive outcomes of the drilling campaigns.

Buhari went on to say that the communities that were close by would especially benefit from the value that would be created by the activities of exploration and eventual production.
