The President has reminded Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for President in the 2023 election, that it is past time for him to give up on his dream of becoming President.

The Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate from the previous election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, finally found a voice on Monday at a press conference in Abuja, after more than 96 hours, to respond to the Supreme Court’s trouncing of his appeal of his egregiously incompetent election petition. The statement was signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy.

“We misjudged Atiku’s ability to act like a statesman and athlete at 77 years old and accept the ruling of Nigeria’s highest court and its citizens with composure.”Rather, in an attempt to accomplish what he was unable to obtain through the electoral process, he shamelessly characterized himself as a demagogue and anarchist by attempting to overthrow and undermine all governmental institutions.

Alhaji Atiku launched a tirade against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and judiciary, particularly our apex court, for not bending the law and the constitution to satisfy his whims and caprices during his press conference, where he labored, in vain, to once again manipulate public opinion and blame the judiciary for his self-inflicted defeat in the 25 February Presidential election.

Atiku made a concerted effort to improve his deceptive performance by claiming to uphold higher moral standards and false morality, but in reality, his entire life is in direct opposition to these principles.

For example, Atiku asserted that he collaborated with others to remove military rule in Nigeria, despite being under the control of the same junta that imprisoned his mentor, Major-General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua (rtd), until his death and held democracy hostage. In order to maintain his gubernatorial ambition on the platform of one of those disgraceful Abacha political groups, he distanced himself from him when he was in detention.

According to Atiku’s style of politics, democracy must be threatened if an election or electoral process does not support him or open the door for his win. Democracy should either be his way or the highway, in his opinion.

In his word choice and perspective on Nigeria, the PDP candidate was callous and abrasive. It is hard to fathom the degree of dissatisfaction that might lead a former vice president of Nigeria—who held the second-highest position in the country—to have such a negative outlook on his native land. The PDP candidate declared that Nigeria is doomed just because he was unable to fulfill his own desire.

We would like to convey to Alhaji Atiku that Nigeria is not doomed. All that is doomed is Atiku’s excessive desire to become president. Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s direction, Nigeria is progressing and poised to fulfill its destiny of becoming one of the world’s most renowned and prosperous countries.

In contrast to Atiku’s depressing assessment of our democracy, we are happy to inform the world that it is thriving and expanding. That’s the reason why, unlike in the past when just two parties dominated the national parliament, since 1999 the makeup and outlook of our National Assembly have reflected the diversity and plurality of voters’ choices and preferences as a rainbow coalition of different parties.

Votes are important in Nigeria today. The ongoing enhancement of our democratic process, praised by both domestic and foreign observers, cannot be undermined by the willful falsification of facts concerning our most recent election by Alhaji Atiku and his associate, Peter Obi. IReV was not intended to be an internet collation center, as the Supreme Court has stated. It was just a place where the public could see the outcomes.

“The PDP and Atiku, along with Peter Obi’s wing of the Labour Party, are unable to uphold their own reality in defiance of reason, common sense, and the law.

“Atiku and his horde of hired men understood why they were not elected. Nigerians favored Bola Ahmed Tinubu and supported him in the presidential election, which is why the PDP candidate lost. Because he presented a more promising future for our nation, Tinubu and his APC prevailed. The All Progressives Congress was a strong, cohesive party that managed a well-planned campaign while maintaining the integrity of its membership.

“Atiku lost because, heading into a significant election, his umbrella was frayed and broken, unable to hold together. With the PDP platform divided into four sections, Atiku could not have won the election on behalf of the party. While the APC entered the election as a powerful, viable, and cohesive organization, we wonder how Atiku could have imagined any possible route to victory with Mr. Peter Obi’s Labour Party, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s NNPP, and PDP G-5 Governors who took away potential PDP votes.

The President of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been urged by a coalition of Akwa Ibom civil society organizations to remove Mr. Etekamba Umoren from his position as State Resident Electoral Commissioner.

As to the group’s claims, Umoren is an All Progressives Congress (APC) card-carrying member from Akwa Ibom State who had participated in party campaigns during the elections.

The appointment of Umoren, according to the coalition of six members led by Otuekong Franklyn Isong, Director of the Center for Human Rights and Accountability Network (CHRAN), will exacerbate mistrust in the commission and jeopardize the confidence of other political parties in the commission. The coalition made their position known at a press conference held in Uyo.They said that Nigerians are already furious about the appointment and that it will taint upcoming elections in the nation.

“We all urge that Mr. Etekamba Umoren’s appointment as an INEC resident electoral commissioner from Akwa Ibom State be revoked in the public interest by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“That, in order to be appointed as an INEC Commissioner, Mr. Etekamba Umoren does not fulfill the constitutional conditions of being non-partisan as specified by Section 156(1)(a) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 Constitution.

It is stated that Mr. Etekamba Umoren is not only a card-carrying member of the ruling All Progressives Congress but also a practicing politician who has served in a number of political capacities, most notably as the Secretary to the Government of Akwa Ibom State under the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), prior to his August 8, 2018, defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

They said, “That, his last political appointment was to be Senator Godswill Akpabio’s chief of staff while Senator Akpabio was the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Ministry.”

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, should be fired immediately by President Bola Tinubu, according to former APC deputy national publicity secretary Timi Frank. Wike is accused of orchestrating an attempt to remove Rivers State Governor Siminilaye Fubara from office.

Frank denounced in a statement released on Tuesday the police’s use of tear gas and water cannons against Fubara.

Because of his men’s partisan activity against the State’s elected governor, he consequently called on Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun to immediately dismiss the Commissioner of Police in Rivers.

“Wike has already begun tearing down houses and taking away land ownership in Abuja to infuriate Nigerians, incite hatred toward Tinubu, and depict the APC government as evil and anti-people,” Frank stated.

“Wike would have wrecked his government to position himself to run for president in 2027, so by the time Tinubu realizes it, it will be too late.

Wike has begun preparing for the presidency in 2027 and is only interested in governing. He would thus stop at nothing to get Tinubu’s approval, but if they do not bring him to order, he will ruin the administration.

Wike’s removal, according to Frank, is now essential to prevent him from damaging the APC and discrediting Tinubu’s administration.

“Let Wike officially join the APC and become a card-carrying member of the party if he loves Tinubu and believes in his administration,” he continued. However, he has declined to comply, as his goal is to demolish the APC so that he may run for president in 2027 on the Peoples Democratic Party platform (PDP). Due to his nefarious purpose, he has declined to join the APC.

“Tinubu and the APC should not only exercise caution, but also make a strong call to Wike to put an end to this craziness in Rivers State, as it would not go well otherwise.

In his support of Fubara, Wike asserted that he was the most qualified candidate for governor. However, out of nowhere, Fubara has turned against him, a despot who is only interested in extracting money from Rivers, and is no longer willing to follow his orders.

Additionally, he urged governors from all political parties to support their counterpart in Rivers State in his effort to overthrow Wike’s autocracy and Godfatherism in that state.

“If they allow Wike to succeed in using federal power to forcibly remove Fubara from office, sitting governors will ultimately turn into vegetables similar to local government chairmen in states, as former governors who toiled to become governors will take a cue from Wike and use it to force them out of office whenever they don’t do what they want. Thus, the governor of the Rivers is not the only factor, he said.

He urged Fubara to keep up his fierce and unwavering resolve in thwarting Wike’s nefarious schemes. After all, light would ultimately prevail over darkness, he declared.

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, has come under fire from the Ijaw National Congress (INC) for what it called a “grand plot” to remove Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara from office.

The INC claimed that Wike was the mastermind behind the massive scheme to illegally remove Fubara from office in a news release that was signed by Prof. Benjamin Ogle Okaba, the organization’s president.

A portion of the text said:

The Nigerian economy and the entire Niger Delta could face severe crises as a result of this development, which the INC views as extremely concerning and potential of creating an unjustified state of instability and insecurity.

“This savage, self-centered, nepotistic, and unconstitutional act is completely denounced by the INC, which fears it will sabotage Nigeria’s democratic consolidation efforts.”

The INC demands that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander in Chief, summon his Minister of the Federal Capital Territory to order. An injustice to one jaw man is an injustice to over forty million Ijaw people globally, hence the INC also calls on all jaw sons, daughters, and friends to rally their support for the governor of River State.

“The Jaw Nation will take appropriate action at the appropriate time, with decisiveness.”

There were rumors of a schism developing on Sunday between the members of the Rivers State House of Assembly after some of them started the process of impeaching Fubara.

Eze claimed that Wike had chosen to take action against Governor Fubara due to his support of Amaechi’s people-focused initiatives for the state’s advancement.

In addition, Wike has attempted to exclude Fubara from all political engagements and decisions both inside and outside the state. As a result, Fubara was warned not to attend any political gatherings in Abuja, including the PDP-Governors Forum, where he is influential as Vice Chair.

Since the governor has not committed any crimes that may result in his impeachment, Edison Ehie, the leader of the State House of Assembly, was stripped of his majority leadership position after rejecting the attempt to remove him.

Edison, however, was also said to have won the election to become the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

To prevent a highly immoral emperor from taking over Rivers State and its people, Eze called on the people of Rivers State to unite behind the governor.

“Nyesom Wike is an extremely talented person, and Rivers State is too advanced to be held as a slave.”

It is extremely regrettable and saddening that the governor of Rivers State is being targeted for impeachment because he wishes to bring back the majority of Amaechi’s vision, which included the Songhai and the Greater Port Harcourt projects, which were designed to make the state not only self-sufficient but also to empower the majority of its youth.

To reiterate, Wike should not try to rekindle his illegal use of five lawmakers to begin the process of impeaching Amaechi by July 2013, since his plan to assassinate Fubara will fail miserably this time.

“The destiny of the State cannot be decided by Wike on his personal property, Rivers State.”

Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly were advised by the APC Chief to explore the process of removing a governor.

In order to free himself from the enslavement imposed on him by the FCT Minister, Eze urged Governor Fubara to continue the struggle.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio is not as knowledgable on matters pertaining to the parliament as Borno South’s representative, Senator Ali Ndume, of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was stated by Ndume, who criticized Akpabio’s leadership style in the 10th Senate, on Politics on Sunday.

“What bothered me is not so much what happened the last time, but how he handled the matter and how it was misconstrued. Remember that I participated in this battle and ran an Akpabio campaign? Building a house does not allow for its demolition.

“My greater experience than his is the primary issue. You don’t override your chief whip; I’m the one who calls someone to order. That’s what I sought to correct him on. It was 12:30 pm and I had to go pray, but he took advantage of the gavel. I was supposed to be invited then and we would have more one-on-one time.
Following a confrontation with Akpabio on October 19, the lawmaker—who was first elected to the Senate in 2011—spoke of storming out of the chamber.

During her speech on the show, Ndume urged President Bola Tinubu to issue an executive order on riches that seemed out of explanation.

Notwithstanding the fact that the UK and other countries have legislation addressing these kinds of problems, the legislator claimed he tried to draft some bills in that area.

In an interview with Sunday Politics, he remarked, “I have tried several times, but you know, there were excuses here and there.” “The current president should sign an executive bill on unexplained wealth in the interim or when the bill comes from the executive branch, I believe that’s the best way to do this.”
Ndume contends that special legislation is needed to address the degree of unexplained wealth among the nation’s lawmakers and civil personnel.

Daniel Bwala, a lawyer who supported Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has demanded that Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike be fired immediately.
According to reports, Bwala made the appeal in response to the Rivers lawmakers’ scheme to remove State Governor Simi Fubara from office after a falling out with Wike.

Following a fire on Sunday, the governor had gone to the Assembly complex on Monday morning. However, security personnel opened fire on him and used tear gas.

Bwala stated in a post on X that Fubara should use his executive authority to drive Wike out of the country because the nation’s democracy does not tolerate authoritarianism.

The adviser to Atiku also urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to exercise caution around Wike before he damages the reputation of his administration both domestically and globally.

In his letter, he stated that Sim Fubara need to drive Wike out of the city by using all of his executive authority. Authoritarianism is not recognized in our democracy. Fubara was the one who cast the vote to become Rivers State’s executive governor and chief security officer. It is recommended that @officialABAT handle Wike with utmost caution before Wike damages the reputation of his administration both domestically and globally. Wike should be fired by PBAT right away.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate for 2023, Atiku Abubakar, has stated that he will not be stepping down from active, partisan politics just yet.
Nonetheless, he made hints that the time had come for him to stop running for elective office and let the younger people take up the cause.

The hint was revealed by the former vice president on Monday during a press conference where he responded to the Supreme Court’s decision upholding President Bola Tinubu’s victory as the All Progressives Congress (APC) nominee on February 25, 2023.

Atiku and the PDP filed an appeal, but it was dismissed by the Supreme Court on Thursday, October 26 for lack of merit. It is unclear if the PDP leader will run in the 2027 elections, by which time he would be 81 years old.

Atiku stated in his speech on Monday that although the fight to strengthen Nigeria’s political institutions and democracy will go on, the younger generation will now be in the forefront of it.

“This phase of our work is done for me and my party,” he declared. I will not, however, disappear. I will fight alongside other Nigerians to strengthen our democracy and rule of law as well as to bring about the kind of political and economic transformation that the nation need in order to realize its full potential for as long as I live. The younger generation of Nigerians, who have even greater stakes than my generation, ought to take the lead in that effort.
