JUST IN: Gov. Diri Joins APC, Bayelsa Residents Celebrate

0

As members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) formally welcome Governor Douye Diri and his supporters to the party, Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, is reportedly buzzing with enthusiasm.

Recall that Diri, who left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on October 15, has been secretly negotiating his defection plan with prominent APC figures for weeks.

Despite the early morning rain, thousands of APC and Diri supporters from all eight local government areas began to flood into the state capital as early as 8 am. They were clad in colorful clothing and white t-shirts.

Along several of the state capital’s main thoroughfares, additional supporters could be seen signing and drumming.

In addition, the 5,000-seat Samson Siasia Stadium was packed, and as the crowd continued to swarm inside, security personnel blocked more people from entering out of fear of a possible stampede.

Pastor Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State; Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor of Delta State, and his predecessor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the governor of Ondo State; Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo State; and Abubakar Momoh, the minister of regional development and engineering, have already arrived in the state capital for the event.

The most recent development has officially ended rumors that Diri might join the APC.

JUST IN: PDP Secretariat Locked Down As Party Faces Deepening Crisis

0

Shortly after Abdulrahman Mohammed took over as Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), security personnel blocked off the party’s National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza and the Legacy House in Abuja on Monday, drastically altering the party’s leadership crisis.

Early in the morning, heavily armed police officers stormed the Wadata Plaza offices and ordered media and employees to leave before sealing the gates.

According to reports, the officers positioned themselves strategically around the structure to stop any attempts at access.

Shortly after, the PDP’s National Convention Organizing Committee headquarters, Legacy House in Maitama, was blocked off by a second security unit, thereby stopping all administrative activities at the two main opposition party centers.

Police officers turned away journalists who tried to enter Legacy House, citing “orders from above” as justification for the lockout.

Staff and party members around the country were alarmed by the abrupt security crackdown. It happened just hours after Mohammed’s contentious appointment as Acting Chairman, which has exacerbated tensions inside the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

Vanguard was informed by a senior party source that the high police presence was an attempt to prevent violent confrontations between opposing groups.

Factions Exchange Leadership for Blame Days of tense negotiations and political scheming preceded Tussle Mohammed’s takeover, which was allegedly supported by a group within the NWC loyal to a former South-South governor. In the run-up to the 2027 general elections, his camp promised to bring stability and unity back to the PDP while accusing the previous leadership of being overbearing and lacking cooperation.

Umar Damagum is still the legitimate Acting Chairman of the PDP, according to supporters of the suspended leaders, who have rejected his appearance as “an illegal coup.”

Later in the afternoon, PDP employees at the national secretariat staged a walkout to voice their displeasure with the situation, which increased tension.

With signs in hand, the workers declared that there was “total confusion” and that they would not go back to work until clarity was restored.

Both Wadata Plaza and Legacy House were still under lock and key as of the time of publication, with armed guards keeping a close eye on the area.

According to sources, loyalists from both groups were convening separate emergency meetings in Abuja at undisclosed places to discuss potential reconciliation initiatives and next steps.

JUST IN: Nigerian Lawmakers Move To Uncover Drug Trafficking Networks

0

To safeguard the safety and protection of society, the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee looking into purported increases in drug trafficking and alcohol misuse has promised to find offenders and prosecute them.

Timeyin Adelegbe (APC-Ondo), the committee’s chairman, declared in a statement on Sunday that he would not permit Nigeria to turn into a dumping ground for harmful goods, illicit substances, deceptive advertising, and detrimental business practices.

The congressman said that the committee was still planning to organize a multi-stakeholder meeting in Lagos state and Abuja to discuss and gather information from Nigerians regarding how to put an end to the threat.

He claims that this is a reaction to Nigerians’ public outcry for a national emergency that covers corporate responsibility, public health, youth safety, and the integrity of Nigeria’s trade and regulatory systems.

“The committee is dedicated to fulfilling its constitutional mission to look into and reveal any corporate and institutional wrongdoing that contributes to the nation’s widespread drug, alcohol, and tobacco consumption.

“We have a clear mandate: we are to look into the behavior of businesses involved in the drug, alcohol, and tobacco industries and to make sure that all Nigerian laws, rules, and ethical commitments to the Nigerian people are followed.

The committee’s work necessitated the collection of evidence and data, public hearings, and a strategic forum conference with focus areas of government agencies, NGOs, CSOs, and regulatory authorities in Abuja and alcohol, tobacco, port terminals, and pharmaceutical industries in Lagos.

“The conferences will function as forums for policy discussions, professional suggestions, and the creation of practical resolutions for legislative changes,” he stated.

In accordance with Section 89 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the chairman cautioned that any attempt by invited organizations to deceive the committee, hide, or fabricate information during the investigation would be considered contempt of the National Assembly.

He reiterated the committee’s dedication to honesty, openness, and responsibility in its operations.

Mr. Adelegbe clarified that the committee’s probe was a patriotic endeavor meant to safeguard Nigerians’ health and well-being and restore moral business practices in the nation, not a witch hunt.

“Toxic products, illegal drugs, predatory advertising, and destructive business practices must never be dumped in Nigeria.” He declared, “This committee is steadfast in its defense of the Nigerian people.

JUST IN: Presidency Says Trump Needs Tinubu’s Consent Before Launching Military Operation

0

According to Daniel Bwala, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Policy Communication, it would be diplomatically unacceptable for the US to conduct any military action in Nigeria without permission.

In an interview with BBC World Service on Monday, Bwala made this claim.

He emphasized that Nigeria is an independent country and that any foreign involvement in its internal security matters must be cooperative and considerate of Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

Bwala’s remarks follow US President Donald Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” due to alleged Christian persecution.

Additionally, Trump vowed to use the US “Department of War” to combat terrorist organizations that he said were attacking Nigerian Christians.

Bwala stated, “It’s acceptable if it’s a joint operation with Nigeria.”

However, invading a sovereign country without cooperation is inappropriate from a diplomatic standpoint, particularly if that country continues to be a vital ally in the struggle against instability.

Only when there is proof that a government is complicit in a problem does unilateral action take place. In Nigeria, that is most definitely not the case,” he stated.

JUST IN: Troops Rescue Two Abducted Persons, Recover N3.8m Ransom In Kogi

0

After a bloody battle with bandits, soldiers from the Nigerian Army’s 12 Brigade, Lokoja, successfully freed two abducted victims and found a N3.8 million ransom meant for their release.

Brigade Spokesperson Lt. Hassan Abdullahi said in a statement on Monday that the rescue operation happened on Sunday in Achigili Forest along the Itobe–Adumu–Ejule road.

On November 2, soldiers stationed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Oguma got reliable information about a planned ransom drop, which sparked the start of the operation. In response to the information, a patrol was quickly dispatched to the woodland in order to apprehend the perpetrators.

The bandits opened fire on the soldiers while they were traveling. With superior power, the soldiers engaged the criminals by firing back. As a result, the kidnappers were forced to run into the bush with gunshot wounds, abandoning the two victims—a male and a female—as well as the money.

The victims who had been saved were debriefed right away and placed in secure custody. They were successfully given back the N3.8 million that was retrieved.

Lt. Abdullahi urged the people to keep supplying timely and reliable information to support security operations against criminal elements in the state and reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s unflinching dedication to defend lives and property.

JUST IN: Land Grabbers Invade Ondo Community, Residents Protest

0

In protest of some alleged land grabbers invading their land, residents of the Aponmu village in Akure South Local Government Area, Ondo State, invaded the governor’s office on Monday in Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital.

They claimed that the invaders attacked those who resisted and destroyed their crops, especially their cocoa plantation.

“Mr. Governor, please save our soul, we are suffering” is one of the messages written on the demonstrators’ signs. “Please, Mr. Governor, assist us.” “Land grabbers have taken over our Coca farms.”

To prevent violence in the neighborhood, they thus urged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to save them from the intruders.

Pastor Tope Akinkuade, the demonstrators’ leader, clarified that the locals are being harassed by the purported land grabbers as they destroy their crops without consequence.

The farmers revealed that any farmer who attempted to oppose the invaders would be attacked by armed thugs.

The protesting farmers wrote to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa via his Special Advisor (Special Duties), Bola Taiwo, pleading for him to step in and stop additional damage to their farms, which could lead to bloodshed in the neighborhood.

“This is to inform Your Excellency of an imminent threat to peace in Aponmu, arising from possible confrontation with land grabbers operating in the community, which may lead to a breakdown of law and order,” the letter said in part.

“Aponmu is a multiethnic hamlet that has been home to several ethnic groups from Nigeria for more than a century, with a focus on cocoa growing. Cocoa plantations are the sole source of income for a large number of people.

Alleged Forgery Charge: Lawyer seeks CJN, DSS Intervention

0

….Says office of FCT High Court CJ compromised by Asabe Waziri, Joe Agi, SAN

*Ready to undertake polygraph test to verify veracity of claim

A lawyer and Human Rights activist, Victor Giwa, has called on the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN and and the Directorate of State Services, DSS, to investigate the veracity of his claim that the office of the Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has been compromised regarding his alleged forgery trial before Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie.

According to Giwa, the CJ office has been compromised by Asabe Waziri, a staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Chief Joe Agi.

In an affidavit attached to a motion on notice dated October 27, 2025, seeking the recusal of Justice Onwuegbuzie from his trial before the court, Giwa said he has no chance of getting justice before the court.

Giwa and Bukola. Ibitade are standing trial before the court over allegation of forgery and impersonation

The police had accused Giwa of forging letterhead paper of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Awa Kalu.

But Awa Kalu, in a letter to the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode. Egebtolun, put a lie to the allegation of the police against Ibitade amd Giwa.

Despite the letter of Prof. Awa Kalu to the Inspector-General of Police, formally distancing himself from the allegation of forgery and impersonation against Giwa and Ibitade, the police have gone ahead to press charge against Giwa.

Chief Kalu, in a letter to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, had said his letterhead was never forged and that he had not at anytime lodged any complaint to the police about forgery of his document.

Professor Kalu, in a letter dated May 30, 2025, addressed to the Inspector General of Police, clarified that he neither filed a complaint nor reported Mr. Giwa for allegedly forging his firm’s letterhead.

Giwa said in an affidavit in support of the application with motion number M/13799/205 that Asabe Waziri has the backing of some persons in the office of the FCT High Court CJ with respect to his trial in court.

He said in the affidavit, “That I know as a fact that Arabe Waziri is fully supported by persons in the Office of the Chief Judge of FCT, and enjoys favour with respect to her cases in Court.

“That I made efforts and send emissaries to the office of the Chief Judge with the knowledge that the office of the Chef Judge is against me.

“That I have no chances of getting justice before this Honourable Court in this case as the outcome is pre-determined and Asabe Waziri has boasted repeatedly that this Honourable Court is arranged to obtain a conviction and use same as a basis for the withdrawal of my practice license.

“That I humbly and respectfully demand that this case be further investigated by the Department of State Security Service (DSS) and Chief Justice of Nigeria, His Noble lord, Honourable Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

“That I am ready and available to undertake a polygraph test to verify the veracity of my claims and the facts deposed in this affidavit.

“That I know as a fact that during a time of settlement Asabe Wazin was represented by the Director of Enforcement unit of the FCT High Court who demanded that the sum of Eight hundred million naira (N 800, 000,000) be paid to Asabe Waziri should my client and I intend to stop our arraignment before His Lordship Honourable Bature and to further meet with Joe Agi SAN. A copy of the settlement demand list as written and presented in the handwriting of the said Director of Enforcement Unit of the FCT High Court is attached as Exhibit O.

“That Asabe Waziri enjoys full support from the Office of the Chief Judge of
the FCT High Court and its staff, That i depose to this affidavit in good faith believing the contents to be true
and correct and in accordance with the Oath Act 2004.”

PRESIDENT TINUBU HAS NOT LOST THE NATION’S FAITH

0

…BY CHARLES NNAEBUKA PhD

The recently published opinion piece titled *”All the President’s Enemies: How President Tinubu Lost the Nation’s Faith”* by one Nnaoke Ufere, PhD, is a masterclass in selective outrage and emotional exaggeration masquerading as analysis. Its language may be elegant but its logic is shallow and designed to provoke despair rather than inspire understanding. Let us be clear: Nigeria’s challenges did not begin in May 2023. The current administration inherited a deeply fractured economy, decades of subsidy fraud, massive oil theft, a collapsing naira and unsustainable debt servicing that consumed over 90% of government revenue. What the author calls “Tinubu’s hardship”( which the President himself has acknowledged several times) is the painful but necessary process of dismantling the ruins of decades long economic deceit. Allow me to dissect this sham disguised as an airticle.

1. “THE PEOPLE”: Ufere’s claim that over 200 million Nigerians are victims of Tinubu’s failed policies and that Subsidy removal brought only hunger is nothing but an attempt at justifying a weak point. Every economist worth their credentials knows that Nigeria’s fuel subsidy was a fiscal time bomb. It cost over N4 trillion annually, more than the budgets of education, health and defense combined while enriching smugglers and corrupt cartels. President Tinubu took the bold step previous leaders postponed for fear of backlash. Today, despite temporary hardship, the benefits are emerging thus: The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) shared over N1.3 trillion monthly, the highest in history, empowering states to invest in salaries, infrastructure and palliatives. Also, pipelines and modular refineries are being revived as subsidy fraud collapses. Additionally, Oil marketers are investing in competitive pricing for the first time in decades. This and more are the gains of a very hard decision taken by the President on assumption of office. Secondly, on the issue of Exchange Rate Unification, for years, Nigeria operated multiple exchange rates, a system riddled with corruption and arbitrage. By unifying the FX market, President Tinubu ended the racket that favored the elite over ordinary Nigerians. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is slowly returning as the system stabilizes. Exporters can now repatriate earnings transparently. Diaspora remittances, previously trapped by multiple rate windows, are flowing through legitimate channels. It takes time for stability to replace distortion. But Nigeria’s currency system is finally facing reality, not illusion. We must therefore remain mindful that painful reforms are never popular at the start but history remembers those who choose correction over comfort.

2. SIDELINING OF THE NORTH: Ufere claimed that Tinubu sidelined the North and broke old alliances. This is laughable but let’s break down the facts. The Minister of Defence, NSA, COAS, CNS and very key cabinet members are from the North, all selected on merit. Ironically, Northern states are the largest beneficiaries of federal agricultural and infrastructure investments including Kano-Katsina dualization, Sokoto-Badagry superhighway, Mambilla resumption and resettlement funds for farmers among others. It is on record that Tinubu has met repeatedly with Arewa Consultative Forum and Northern Governors Forum to coordinate joint recovery efforts. So if this is what Ufere term as “alienation”, it is indeed, one that comes with record-level capital projects and empowerment in the North.

3. THE SOUTHEASTERNERS

In the same vien, the writer claim Tinubu practices “benign neglect” of the Southeast.

Meanwhile, the Second Niger Bridge, commissioned in 2023, was completed and now fully operational, ending decades of broken promises. Over N200 billion worth of federal roads (Enugu-Port Harcourt, Owerri-Onitsha, Aba-Ikot Ekpene) are under reconstruction. In addition to this, Igbo technocrats hold major portfolios, Works (Umahi), Industry/Trade (Doris Uzoka-Anite) among others. Furthermore, on the directives of President Tinubu, Security operations have drastically reduced IPOB/ESN terror attacks in Anambra, Imo and Abia. Many markets and schools have reopened. The records speak for themselves. The Southeast is not excluded but it is being rebuilt in peace not propaganda.

4. “THE DISILLUSIONED SOUTHWESTERNERS”

Another misleading rhetoric is that Tinubu has betrayed his own Yoruba base.

The fact is, Southwest states have seen historic allocations and policy support. These include, Lagos-Calabar Coastal Superhighway approved as the most ambitious infrastructure project in Nigeria’s history. Another is the Oyo-Ogun-Lagos rail and power corridor approved for private-public execution. Likewise, there is the Agric mechanization clusters launched in Ekiti, Ondo, and Osun. All these are proofs that the President’s politics have never been about tribe but transformation. Suffering is national but so also is recovery.

5. “THE FORMER BUSINESS OWNERS”

That Businesses collapsed due to erratic policies and forex reforms is another falsehood due to the fact that exchange rate unification ended years of multiple-rate corruption that benefitted only privileged importers. Reforms take time to yield stability, but progress is clear: Export proceeds repatriation has risen by 26%; SMEDAN-Bank of Industry grants have supported 1.3 million small businesses since Q4 2023. Similarly, gigital economy reforms now attract investment such that Microsoft, Google and Huawei all expanded operations in 2024. Evidently, Nigeria is being cleaned up for sustainable enterprise not the artificial prosperity of subsidy-era distortions.

6. THE FARMERS

Maybe Ufere is not aware that over $500 million worth of security drones and surveillance equipment have been deployed to protect farms in Zamfara, Kaduna and Niger. Ufere might have also turned a blind eye to the 10,000 new Agro Rangers under NSCDC who were recently trained.

The National Food Security Council was reactivated and N200 billion allocated for dry season farming. Meanwhile, Anchor Borrowers repayment reforms are being enforced to end loan fraud. Harvest outputs in 2024 increased in rice, maize, and sorghum despite global climate shocks. Farmers are returning to fields, not fleeing them and that is why there’s a gradual but noticeable decline in food prices in 2025 as against their cost in 2024. Ufere is challenged to go and fact-check this.

7. THE FAMILIES OF THE DEAD

Claims by the author that neglect caused preventable deaths and collapse of healthcare is also false.

The Basic Health Care Provision Fund received the highest disbursement since inception, ₦150 billion in 2024. 1,000 primary healthcare centers are being revitalized nationwide with solar power while over 15 million vulnerable Nigerians enrolled in the National Health Insurance Authority scheme. The Health sector reform is ongoing, equipment procurement, personnel training and local drug manufacturing incentives are in motion. Just recently, the federal government released over N11billion to clear off debt owed medical health workers among other intervention. Note also that the said debt was owed by previous governments.

8. THE RANK AND FILE OF THE ARMED FORCES

Like many other delusional minds, Ufere notes that the military is disillusioned and plotting coups. But that is far from the truth because the Nigerian Armed Forces remain disciplined, loyal and professional. Troops’ allowances were reviewed upward by 45%.

Insurance and compensation schemes for fallen soldiers are now automated. The high morale amongst them have resulted in thousands of terrorists neutralised, over 2000 hostages rescued and thousands of illegal miners arrested between mid 2024 and late 2025. This clearly implies morale is high because results are visible. The government has categorically mentioned that there was never an attempted coup. Therefore “whispers of coups” exist only in the imagination of the author.

9. THE YOUTH

To prove that the youth are central to Tinubu’s agenda, he has ensured that the Student Loan Act passed, a decades long demand now reality. Is the 3MTT (Three Million Technical Talent) programme training 1 million Nigerians in digital skills a joke to Ufere? There is also the NYSC, N-Power and public service reforms being aligned to employment pathways. The Startup Act implementation now gives young innovators tax holidays and investor access. No doubt, a restless generation finally has a government giving structure to their energy. This is to the shame and disappointment of the Ufere and his likes.

10. THE INTERNATIONAL INVESTORS

The writer claims Investors are fleeing Nigeria. The opposite is true. Nigeria remains Africa’s top investment destination in tech, energy and agriculture. This is exemplified by the

$14 billion in FDI commitments secured during the 2024 G-20 summit. Also, AfDB, IFC and Afreximbank have all increased portfolio exposure. Major firms including Shell, Seplat, Indorama and Dangote are reinvesting heavily as confidence grows. This simply implies that short term volatility does not mean failure as Tinubu’s reform is restoring credibility. Proudly, just in the last two weeks, foreign reserve rose from N530.28 million to a whooping N43.17 billion! Again, Ufere is challenged to fact-check this.

11. THE DIASPORA

If i may again ask the author, in what world are Diaspora Nigerians disillusioned when remittances reached $20.5 billion in 2024, the highest in West Africa, aided by unified FX policy. Is Ufere ignorant of the fact that the Diaspora Bond initiative and NIDCOM investment platform have opened secure channels for home based investments?

Tinubu is the first president to actively engage diaspora Nigerians through quarterly interactive summits. So how are they ashamed of Nigeria when they are actively participating in its renewal? For the first time in a very long time, the dollar has sustained a downward spin and crashing against the Naira. Experts have projected that with the onset of the yuletide season, the dollars would continue this downturn due to more diaspora remittances in addition to other Tinubu’s economic reforms. I will therefore advise Ufere and his likes to quickly hasten to change any dollar in their possession to avoid premium tears.

12. THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

Tinubu was specially invited to the G-20 Summit and the World Economic Forum, signaling high international regard. Therefore the narrative of disrespect is balderdash. Also, Nigeria’s foreign policy realignment with ECOWAS, AU and BRICS shows renewed diplomatic weight. It is in the same vein that the U.S. Secretary of State, IMF and World Bank have all publicly endorsed Nigeria’s reform path. To the shame of Ufere and his cohorts, Nigeria’s image is being rebuilt with seriousness and substance not slogans.

13. THE MEDIA

Again the assertion that Tinubu is silencing the press is grossly erroneous.

Nigeria remains one of Africa’s freest media spaces with over 350 radio stations, 100 TV stations, 100+ online dailies publish daily where many are sharply critical of government. I doubt any journalist is in jail for opinion. Also, Tinubu’s government increased public information access through the Freedom of Information digital portal, ensuring transparency.

To the author and like minds, criticism is allowed under Tinubu’s Government. What is REJECTED is DISINFORMATION disguised as ANALYSIS like Ufere’s article.

THE REALITY

Nnaoke Ufere’s essay confuses hardship with hatred. Nigeria’s recovery is underway, slow, steady and structural. Ufere’s “analysis” reads less like field research and more like recycled social media rhetoric. The claim that “everywhere and everyone hates Tinubu” is not journalism but wrong projection. Independent polls by reputable firms such as NOI Polls (Sept. 2024) and Africa Polling Institute show that while Nigerians express economic frustration, a majority support the administration’s anti-corruption and subsidy reforms as necessary sacrifices for national survival.

Every reform Ufere condemned is what economists, development partners and reform minded Nigerians have demanded for decades. President Tinubu is not creating enemies but confronting the entrenched interests that profited from national dysfunction.

The final truth is that transformation is never painless. But no serious nation reforms its economy, secures its people and builds infrastructure without turbulence. The President’s duty is not to be liked but to deliver. And on every measurable front, fiscal transparency, security reform, infrastructure, investment inflows and governance accountability, progress is clear, steady and irreversible. No reform driven leader in history, from Ghana’s Rawlings to Indonesia’s Widodo, was celebrated in the middle of transformation. The reward comes after stability returns. Nigeria is not collapsing but correcting. History will remember this phase not as the age of hardship but the dawn of honesty. Those betting on failure will be disappointed because the reforms of today are the foundations of tomorrow’s stability. The President is not losing the nation’s faith; he is restoring its future, brick by brick, policy by policy with courage history will remember.

Sowore Reacts to Trump’s Classification of Nigeria as ‘Country of Particular Concern’

0

Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and former presidential candidate, responded to Donald Trump’s classification of Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” in response to allegations of Christian genocide in the nation.

According to reports, Trump claimed that “radical Islamists” were to blame for the numerous murders of Christians in Nigeria on Friday in a post on his Truth Social website.

The United States “cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening,” he later declared Nigeria to be a “country of particular concern.”

In response, Sowore cautioned Trump on Saturday via his X handle against attributing Nigeria’s insecurity to a religious problem.

He maintained that decades of corruption, bad governance, and ineffective leadership are the root causes of Nigeria’s insecurity.

SaharaReporters’ publisher emphasized that good leadership, not foreign intervention, is what will save the nation.

“Nigeria should have been listed as a Country of Concern for a long time because it consistently fails to protect its citizens,” he stated. The state has failed to protect vulnerable Muslims, Christians, and traditional faiths at all levels. Corruption and illegitimate leadership have caused suffering for children, women, workers, students, and the elderly.

He acknowledged that Muslim populations in the north experience the same anxiety, but he also voiced concern for Christian communities in the northern states who have experienced repeated attacks.

“I understand the suffering of the Christian communities in Benue, Plateau, Gombe, and Kaduna, who are still subject to constant attacks, just as the Muslim communities in Katsina, Zamfara, Borno, and Yobe also require defense from roving assassins.

He declared, “Nigerians torn apart by hunger, poverty, and displacement cry out for safety and dignity across the nation.”

Sowore maintained that only real domestic reform can break the cycle of violence and hopelessness, even though attention from across the world may provide short-term respite.

“The true solution lies in honest, courageous leadership that values human life and justice above politics, even though international attention or special designations might provide some communities with short-term relief.”

Security Forces Launch Rescue Mission for Abducted Kebbi Deputy Speaker

0

The Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Muhammad Sama’ila-Bagudo, has been kidnapped. The Kebbi State Police Command has quickly assembled a joint team consisting of police tactical units, military personnel, and local vigilantes to pursue the abductors and ensure his safe rescue in Bagudo Local Government Area.

Bambu was reportedly kidnapped on Friday night at his hometown of Bagudo, which is located in the state’s Bagudu Local Government Area.

The Deputy Speaker was kidnapped by suspected bandits, according to a statement released on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi by CSP Nafi’u Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer for the Kebbi Command.

Abubakar said that shortly after the congressman had observed the Isha’i prayer on his way home, a gang of armed men raided Bagudo town on Friday night at around 8:20 p.m. and kidnapped him.

He said that Bello Sani, the state’s commissioner of police, has reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of state citizens.

“The joint team is currently combing the bandits’ routes and nearby forests with a view to rescuing the lawmaker unhurt and arresting the perpetrators of the dastardly act,” he stated.

“In order to maintain peace and stability in the state, the CP has also urged the public to continue being watchful and to support the police and other security agencies.”

The kidnappers had not yet made their demands public, and the state administration had not released a formal statement regarding the event or its most recent developments.
